Are multiple weapon sets really that important in PvE?

I play deep usually. I always bring multiple weapons, and they're always useful!!!

-7en -> 0en -> 12en -> 20en, I can rebirth continuously with these energy set.
In aspect of depletion room, I use low en set because of e-denial.
While fighting nightmare(mesmer), I use 17en set.

It isn't that hard if you can get used to it. Try to bring one or two more set into battles.

Glad I found this thread. Added a shield weapon set and a 2x +15/-1e set to my lineup this weekend. I found the shield set to be marginally useful, but on those occasions when sh*t hit the fan and Dunkoro wasn't pulling his weight, the high energy set was indeed handy.

I do think weapon switching might be usefull in PvE, especially in human party's. Me, I do most of the time small things with Hero/Henchies or with just one other player. In NM - and HM mostly too - I've never had that big problems with energy that I needed to switch weapons. I did switch sometimes to a +20% mod, however it was more an illusion this would help as much as in PvP.

Doing harder stuff with in game players, I found it usefull to switch sets, until I found my best setup for the area. From that moment, I only switch, such as afya, for Rebirth.
