I have to admit to being new to pvp and AB.
I ran out of stuff to do and figured I would try the earn faction during the double faction weekend. I'm now nearly on rank 3 kurzack and finding I enjoy it (when we win and the team caps and doent mob).
I then tried RA yesterday thinking it would be fun....
...and it wasnt. I tried alot of pvp characters and builds and nothing really impressed me. I found 4v4 teams and the constant loosing and the needing 5 wins to earn a point tedious and frustrating. I'm not saying that mechanism is bad and needs changed, I just personally dont like it.
I would have to then assume I would dislike TA and heroe accent if I got that far.
I also have to admit that when I first started playin AB I assumed all battles accessed from the guild hall or the battle ayles gave gladiator points, and I was a bit disapointed to found out otherwise.
So why not?
Why is it that AB (which in my mind isnt that different to RA because your fighting other humans and that falls under pvp to me) doesnt give gladiator points?
I realise the AB battles occur in cantha and not the battle ayles, but surely its pvp (I know that will cause a debate) and it should give gladiator points!
I'm sure it could be changed to do that! Even if its only on point for ever given amount of faction you earn when fighting.

but seriously, the difficulty level in TA is about 10x higher then that in AB. It would be pretty unfair. PUGing in arenas will become a nightmare as well, as there's many ranked teams forming.

Glad points are for beating another team of 4 in straight-up combat. AB is capping shrines and perhaps fighting a skirmish with another team of 4. They are completely different forms of PvP and thus this is a terrible idea.

What about they fix AB first and then introduce Gladiator Points? AB is the worst form of PvP (except for Fort Aspenwood)

Everything thats wrong with pvp in a nutshell. You used to be able to get Glad Points in the Zaishen Arena lol It took like 18 months just to get them to tweak AB so the wait wouldnt be 2+hours on Kaanai & Ancestral. We all know how adept Isiah is at balance and the amount of effort that will be put into anything that isnt HA or GvG. Even having the maps set to less than 3 hours per rotation would take a huge amount of effort. HZH & Cavalon never fall so it is indeed, just another arena. Lopsided arena maps are a joke. im all for a emote just one for ABers and thats if they max their rank of their respected faction lux/kurz but not bc of skill but bc of time invested and most probably have been playing ab awhile too get that high. I guess no one has asked this of the OP, but why do you want Glad points? It's not a prestigious title, you're never going to max it and it doesn't make gold animals fly out of you.
