Thank you for the trial and Eye of the North Anet :)
Turtle222
Thanks Anet, some of my guildies discouraged me from buying this expansion, and thus i didnt want to waste my money...however now that ive tried it out with your trial, ive bought it using your store, thanks very much. Its a very nice campaign and has many new features. I love the whole reputation thing plus the boxing and polymock. i was very curious as to find out about Jora and the asura, and i love the snowy setting - very atmospheric.
So thank you again

Your guildies were right, you shouldn't have bought it. 2 weeks from now, post here, and you'll be in the same boat as all of us, regretting wasting our money.

Jora has to be the USP of EOTN

zzz Jora, Livia kthx.
But seriously, EOTN is fun the first time, or so, but once you finish the story, there's literally NO content aside from grind.

Well they are, if you think about it. The content ends at the storyline, the rest is just grinding. Like the titles, like the dungeons, and the rest.

It would be grind if you did nothing but killing snowmen. And i suppose that's what you did before you decided the expansion sucked.
fenix
Trust a ZoS member to post that sort of garbage. You should know better, since you spend so much time cuddling with them.
The game doesn't FORCE you to do anything, but after the storyline, there is nothing but repeating Dungeons and Missions. Which, to my knowledge, is what grind IS. People just grind the dungeons for the chests, if they don't want to get the titles. Grind is grind.

Good job Anet for the GW:EN promotion but now if i realized u were gonna do this I wouldn't have wasted my money on a TINY portion of land to explore and the same armor as some of the other campaigns....Good job...

So was everything in the previous chapters, troll. Now get out of this game with your acid and most importantly: Don't claim you speak for "everyone here" EVER again, comprende?

No, the people who agree with you just make a lot of noise. Fact is: Someone started a positive tread, and you quickly rushed in to turn it into another dissfest because you just want every single post here to be about the percieved badness of EOTN.

yeah, insults totally help to prove your point

The fact that the content is almost purely grind, shows that the game wasn't made well, and was either rushed, or just made so that players had something else to grind before GW2.

And how is PvP not grind then? It's all about emotes to flash into random peoples faces and owning towns as far as i know. And that requires you to AB all the time, in the same areas agaisnt the same enemies with the same builds. Actually, AB is far worse since town owning guilds demand daily faction donations from their members wile filling up a dungeon guide can be done over years if you want to.

Then what's the point of rare items? I thought the story of any campaign was the last thing someone played GW for. If all titles are grind, then why do I enjoy vanquishing and doing missions in hardmode so much?

I like Eotn considering I get a ton more heroes and some sweet pve skills and new places to farm.
For the people complaining about not wanting to grind... please play pvp or quit playing Guild Wars altogether. Getting money and title takes work and if you are not willing to put in that work then you do not deserve the title and / or money. Again no one is forcing you to play this game and get titles, sell your account to one of your friends at least you may get enough to buy a new game.

sorry i hate to say it but the truest statement made today here is that PvP is just grind. therefor why would i want to beat the storyline just to grind in PvP?
P.S. EotN is good so STFU and let Anet accept their props gracefully.

Beat Factions in 3 days, Nightfall in 5, preordered GWEN and played during the first preview and I'm still playing GWEN. Dungeons and side quests galore, both of which are much more interesting than the side stuff provided in previous chapters IMO. Better armors than previously available too, for that matter. The main story is less than 25% of the total content of the expansion, people that won't see past the briefness of the linear portion of the game are only harming themselves. For me, GWEN was the best investment since Prophecies as far as time spent in a campaign.
Thanks Anet. I wish you'd tone down a few of the PvE skills you introduced, but on the whole I'm very pleased with EotN.
