Would you be able to release the high res texture mod seperately of the UT99 sound mod? I would greatly appreciate that.

No, there is no point, just turn off the UT99 sound effects in the Settings.

I run GW on linux and I'm happy to say the detailed armor mod works perfectly, but I don't get any UT sounds. Great mod! I'm glad it doesn't use texmod, since I'm pretty sure I can't run that program.

Thanks, it works. It doesn't even slow my computer down or hurt my FPS.

Yeah everything works man nice job.
Im not too interested in UT sounds myself, so i just turned them off.
But grats on completing it.

WOW, just WOW! Really wow. I've been asking for this for ages and now it has worked! I've tested it and it works perfectly and doesn't slow down my PC noticeably (frame rate drops a bit but still smooth). Kunt0r you're amazing! Let's hope now that this would be implemented by Anet, that would be awesome.
About this UT99 sound effects. I love UT but I don't wish to have them in Guild Wars. How do I disable the sounds?

Thanks for all the feedback & support guys, glad you all enjoy it.

I know nothing about WINE, but WINE should support it, it's a pretty old proc (w95 era). The proc is called PlaySound and uses the WinMM library. Maybe that helps.

It really wont effect your FPS that much, but it will effect how long it takes you to load into an area and then how long it takes to load up each character. This is normal though, as it's now loading 4x more Texture data. But once it's loaded, it's all cake for even older video cards.

I just tested the sounds in PvE and RA, worked great in both. I'm not to sure what the problem could be.

Texmod uses unsupported calls for WINE. My texture modder (not this one, but one that replaces textures with new ones, ie, the Terror Shield hoax of '05) doesn't use them, so it should infact work under WINE. Only problem is mine isn't user-friendly like Texmod, and is a command line app, so I'll never release it.

LOD and other things will come soon. I just wanted to pump this out as fast as possible so people could start using it. I'll be busy this week, but next weekend I should have free time to start adding in more D3D9 tweaks.

Wow, that's amazing. Framerate stays roughly the same on my computer, takes a tad it more to load the high def. files. A must have
.
As for the UT sounds, I'll see if I mind them too much, I'll turn 'em off.
Thanks

YEAH! awesome. That's something that users have always wanted for ages, but Anet was too damn lazy on their own asses to do anything about it.

That and they'd have to force you to -image, which 99% of the GW pop doesnt know how to do.
IlikeGW
This is really neat. A bit laggy in LA if you're running from here to there... but on the other hand you get to see detail in some armors you never would have. Great work, really impressive this could be modded.

Oh ya, forgot to mention, if you don't use the -image command, your client will not have all the High Def Textures, and you'll either see something weird, or crash.

It's not like the game crashes when you encounter a new low-res armor, they could just make a change so that instead of downloading only the low res armors, everybody d/l's the high res ones along with other essentials, by default.

Amazing work as usual! I have one question: I don't understand why we have to do an image to get the high res textures on our comps... whenever I obs a match or go into an explorable area with someone, those textures have to exist clientside in order to be rendered, no? Are they being removed at a later point (a caching system) or what exactly?

            ![]()
SirCag
No they are not removed, but then again client KNOW that it must download or get the high res textures when entering explorable.
So if you dont have the textures and game dont know that it needs them in town, well than something unexpected happen...then again...mybe game will simply download what it needs
