Anyone know how to get to this spot? the gate in the image below. The gate to the South of it goes to Skyway and the gate to the West of it goes further South off the map to the Tunnels.
Also is that long vertical spot attainable? the one to the right of Dragons Throat.
Thanks for any help on this!

The lower spot is the Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) outpost. To enter it, you must join the party of a native Canthan character who is doing the quest "Mayhem in the Market". That quest leads them to Viz Local, and you can tag along to gain entry.
The strip to the right is cleared by scraping the walls while doing the Vizunah Square mission. There is currently no way to enter Vizunah Square as an explorable area, unlike most other Factions and Nightfall mission areas. But, perhaps the third part of Winds of Change will give us access, just as WiK gave us explorable versions of several mission areas in Prophecies.

can anyone tell me how to get this top spot in Arborstone? I've tried going and hanging out on that top ledge as close as I can get to it and walking backwards and forwards slowly across the ledge stopping for a few seconds at a time, but nada.
can I get that cleared from the outpost, or do I need to go into the explorable area and go wandering out through the marshy areas?

thanks for that, hopefully the last one as I'm at 99.3% and this is a large area:
how can I manage to clear this section off? scraping every wall, stopping every couple of steps for a few seconds hasn't worked. is there a specific section in Vizunah at the bottom two clumps of open space there that I need to scrape and sit on in order to clear off that bottom section (if there is, can someone point out that spot to me) or do I need to get a Factions character to piggy back me into Local Vizunah in order to clear it?

Go to Vizuneh Foreign, speak to the NPC there, and ask to view the mission cinematic. Watch it all the way through. That will clear the big area in question. You also need to get piggybacked into Vizuneh Local to get some in the area of that outpost. (This is a good idea anyway, since there are quests in the Undercity where it is easier to start from Viz Local rather than running to the Wajjun or Bukdek portals.)
This is an important tip all through Cantha. If there is an NPC offering a mission cinematic in an outpost, watch it. Particularly on both sides of Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood.

How do you explore this part. the ones circled in white
Kook~NBK~
Go to Vizunah Square (Foreign) and watch the cut-scene.
BrettM
Don't worry about the upper circle. You've scraped the mission about as well as it needs to be scraped, and I don't think I've cleared that little corner on any of my cartographer characters (six characters with Legendary).
For the lower circle, Kook gave the right answer. Speak to the NPC in Viz Foreign and ask to view the mission cinematic. Watch it all the way through. (Note, do the same for every outpost that offers an NPC with a cinematic, including both sides of Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood. These can clear a surprising amount of area.)

Heya all,
I'm doing my cartographer and I would like to know how to explore this area :
I'm doing my cartographer and I would like to know how to explore this area :
The area between vizunah and tunnels.
Thx =)
cosyfiep
that is part of a dialog area for canthans if memory serves, it is not necessary to get for the carto title.
Quaker
If I recall you need to explore the edges of the "Local Quarter" to get that. If you start from the Foreign Quarter, you would need to explore that area after you get down to that lower area.
Meow Ren
As Quaker said, try running the mission and make sure to scrape when you get down there....but it's also possible that despite texmod showing it as an area that can be unfuzzed, it might not actually be reachable. Not at home to check myself, but per the Canthan cartography guide here on guru, general consensus seems to be that it's likely not needed for the full 100% (post # 177 on page 9 shows the same area you're missing).
Belle Dwayna
It's not needed that's sure but I can't do Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood (low level inside).
I tried your ideas but for the moment I didn't reach this area.
This is a screen of someone who did it (don't play anymore) :

D'you know, I think that tiny patch of Kaineng is the most sought after piece of real estate in the whole of Tyria. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen the exact same screenshot
cosyfiep
as I said....its part of the canthan cutscene.
and you can get into jade and fort---though you will need to deal with lots of bots...just run around and ignore everyone.
update its part of the original cutscene (for either side) when you first get to viz square...attached you will find my screenshot with that area uncovered--and NOT the mission done and NOT a local canthan. (its a survivor toon-dervish)

Thx for your help, we finished without this area but is was close x)
And cosyfiep, you can't start jade and fort if you are not lvl20, that was the problem

ah...never knew that, though by the time my characters got to jq or fa they were all level 20 already....so learned something new!
akelarumi
Didn't know that either, factions has a lot of lean way to be honest. I got 100 % in the time that fa and jq where still serious things (so scraping the edges wasn't polite) and still got it easdy. I did use the portal jumping bug at eredon terrace though (using sin skills to jump past the portal to that town, making it possible to get to the "end of the world"and get some stuff explored that couldn't be explored in a regular way. You can use that to make up for partsin fa/jq and other bits and pieces)
I used the skill heart of shadow for it. just go to the town and exit, pull the foes there to the portal, stand between the portal and the foes and use "heart of shadow" bout 1/10 times you will get teleported behind the portal into the town (without zoning) cause of that you can get into the "owners" area of the outpost wich has a glitch to get behind over the hills between the normal world and the edge of the the world (the area where the developers stopped putting textures and ground and where the world ends). In this case it gave me roughly 1% extra exploration (and that is a lot extra lean way for factions)
Anyways OP has done it, so gz on your title

#1 -- Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) outpost. It looks as though your carto character is a non-native, so you will need to join up with a native toon who has the Mayhem in the Market quest active to get there. You can hop to the Marketplace outpost and ask in local chat to see if anyone has it open. If not, send me a PM and I can dust off my Mayhem ferry .
#2 -- Arborstone Explorable. Leave from Altrumm Ruins or from Arborstone if your character has completed The Count's Daughter.
#4 -- Sunjiang District Explorable. Leave from Zin Ku Corridor, you need to hug the wall. The lower lefthand corner....it's been awhile so I can't recall if it's accessible from Sunjiang or the surrounding outposts...or possibly from Pongmei Valley.

If you check out the wiki you'll see about 3 or 4 different methods to get a few % from semi hidden areas.

the spot in image one on the left side in budek byway is by the way reachable without any fight, if you go to number one of this map you should get that part.
For number 4:
The spot to the right (middle part) is the easiest. Go out from zin ku and hug the left wall (you need to go down to the water). The spot above that might be in the same part, but otherwise it is in Tahnakai temple (explorable area). the last spot is also in Sunjiang district explorable area, atfer you did the first part, continue south, but instead of going left (south) where the ranger/necro boss is to the valley, go ahead to the west and start hugging the left wall again.

What the heck is this area and how do I get to it?
cosyfiep
shing jea arena...talk to the arena guard in shing jea to take you there (if you are higher than level 11? you wont be able to 'enter battle' but you can still run around the area), if you do woc you will also be there for the final battle quest.
Panache
Of course it's something that simple, hahaha! Thank you so much!!! That got me my 100%, as well as Legendary Cartographer, AND 'People know me'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!
I'm stuck with Canthan cartography: i'm at 99.8%, already unfogged everything with Texmod BUT Fort Aspenwood, Jade Quarry and the Imperial Sanctum portal jump inaccessible area (should be 0.2-0.3%).
This is the point: FA and JQ never start. I simply can't unfog these zones because no one joins. I'm pretty frustrated about it.
I'm trying the simple shadow step technique already used in Eredon Terrace and Shing Jea Monastery but I can't let it work with Paisu Palace and Imperial Sanctum. I even watched the videos on youtube but in 2 hours of trying, it continues to zone out. It doesn't work how shown.
Anybody knows if shadow step still works with Paisu Palace and Imperial Sanctum (youtube videos are 2-3 years old)? Any suggestion to obtain 100% cartography without FA and JQ?

Try looking for a group for FA/JQ when those are the daily Zaishen Missions. If you're going to get in, your best chance is on those days. Alternatively, if you find an active guild, perhaps you can get together enough people to help you out.
Regarding jumping into inaccessible areas, my understanding is that they're now literally inaccessible. There was a change a while back (Feb 2013) to shadow steps that changed the behaviour and made such things no longer work. I'm not an expert on such tactics though, so I may be wrong.

or wait for the week that there is the faction support bonus (on top of fa/jq) there might be even a few people doing it those days...its not for a few weeks, but it might be easier then to access those arenas.

Thank you for your hints
But, in the end, I've been able to reach 100% without FA/JQ, by scraping some VERY tiny texture left behind and watching the JQ luxon cinematic, which added the last 0.1%. I totally forgot about it.
So this title is still possible without mapping FA and JQ, but is a real pain. Extreme precision and portal jumping in Shing Jea Monastery and Eredon Terrace are required...

Hello everyone,
I've been thinking about it for years in GW...
do you have any idea, how do I map the area visible in the screenshot?
I was never able to map it from Pongmei, Boreas mission, outpost nor explorable.
Any hints? I would be dearly grateful

it is in the outpost, you need to scrap the upper part really well for it to pop (the area north of the storage).
Sally Mindtrickster
You are totally right, it worked - thank you!
