Figureprints in GW(3D Replica's of your characters)
Lawnmower
In WoW, a guy named Ed Fries, one of the creators of the Xbox console, has created a company called figureprints which allows people to get their characters printed out with a 3D Printer... they can decide which gear they want them to wear, and pose and everything, more here: http://www.figureprints.com/Default.aspx
they say that they currently are only doing it for WoW, but also because the Dell technology with the 3D printers are not basic technology yet, but he said that eventually that he wants to expand to other games.
I would love to be able to get a replica of MY character.
wouldnt you?

Ork Pride
No, not really....
trobinson97
Yeah that would be awesome.
Shadow Kurd
Yay i'd pay for a statue of my character every day! Just how big is it?
xReLx
actually,yes. :P
Darkobra
Since all my characters look good in any game, I wouldn't mind either a GW or WoW figure made in my image.
Bryant Again
Holy hell...That would be soooo kickass.
placebo overdose
nope my chars stay in the game only lol
Lonesamurai
You now, that actually sounds pretty cool... and yes, id have a miniature of my necro (although he still needs his hair changing, his dreads look stupid nearly three years after i half arsed making him)

Ever actually used a 3D printer?
The quality is horrible on small size figures, and the price is huge on large size figures.
It takes 7 minutes to print a 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 block with an average printer.
It also takes 30 minutes-1 hour to heat up an average 3D printer to the point of use.
It seems to me like a very inefficient business. :[

But that said, I really hope that those guys in the "pictures" are just samples...The gear they're wearing is pretty subpar and can be replaced in just a matter of days. To compare it to GW, it's like modeling a warrior with a mix of Wyvern and Krytan armor, i.e. "Why would you pay money for that??"
lyra_song
Kinda lame if you ask me.
You can make much much better action figures that are actually poseable.

I think they are awesome. All the naysayers... well I don't see anything even close for Guild Wars. There aren't even T-shirts, posters, etc. available in the NCSoft store. So please, share these resources for the players where they can order and create some of their own!

To all the naysayers what exactly is wrong with wanting a figurine of your character? If you dont want one you dont have to buy one, but at the same time there is no need to offend those that would like such figures.
I would actually need to see something like this before I buy it though. I collect dragon figurines and most that I have seen are just plain hideous.

That's cool. I don't know that I'd pay what it probably costs, but it's still cool. On an unrelated note, good lord WoW characters are fugly.

I was just thinking about this last week when looking at some 3-D printing videos on YouTube. The machines are getting better and cheaper so maybe when GW2 rolls out this is something that could be available for us.
Moonlit Azure
I would so get one of my ranger!
If they make one I hope they include pets! :O

Neo Nugget

It'd be pretty cool, but it'd depend on the cost for me. If it was affordable then yeah maybe a figure of my main character
arcanemacabre
This is awesome, but I'd wait a bit till the technology becomes a little more refined, and the price goes down. This definitely has promise, though. Perhaps by GW2, we'll be able to get something like this.
Avarre
I await the day where little model Avarres adorn your desks.

Sounds pretty cool. Doubt I would get one but it would be awesome to have a cool little 3D guy of my warrior to sit on my desk.

I personally don't believe in spending anymore money on a video game (or the franchise) other then to play the game itself. (which is what games are meant for). So the figurines would be a no go for me, but I'm sure other people would love them.
Aside from the fact that everything that plastic box makes looks like it came out of some 2nd grader's "make it yourself" play kit.

Neat stuff, but meh sadly it won't happen with GW.
cellardweller
Only if he can make my mursaat hornbow. I'd pay for that
Unlucky Slayer
Where it would be nice to be able to do it this way for figures, I would rather have high quality PVC figures like they do for anime characters and such.
But then again, this process will hopefully get to that point in the future.

It looks all blurry :s
Lady Raenef
I definitely would try to get a figurine for myself, so long as it's not too expensive.
Redfeather1975
Crazy.
I could one day actually make my own real GW adventures under my bed sheets at night.
And I can't believe it, but I'm hitting 'post' on this one.
