do you take the time to appreciate the graphics?

Looking forward to GW2's graphics with the same art.

I wouldn't say GW is outclassed by games like Oblivion though, it had a lot of technical problems, and was just rather bland looking. GW is a pretty simple looking game, but it does look great. And one thing I've always liked about the game is that it will run, and look good on pretty much any system, where as you have games Crysis, Supreme Commander, and even Neverwinter Nights 2 that will barley run well, even on state of the art systems.
I see little point in pushing technology to their very limits if nobody is even going to be able to play them well. Gameplay > style > graphics.

When I updated my machine to a quad core with an Nvidia 8800gt my jaw nearly hit the floor at any rate. Guild Wars shines in the graphics department compared to most other MMO-type games I've played. Not just because of the quality of the graphic textures, but the art direction is some of the best I've seen and very much a signature style.
I've not played Oblivion on the PC, but have on the Xbox 360 and I'm with WinterSnowblind - I find it bland too. Not even the facegen customisation improves it for me, all that micromanagement and I still couldn't get a character that I actually liked.
I'll be interested to see how well they maintain the quality in GW2 in persistent areas.

Yes, one of the reason why I still care for PvE...

Not really.
Graphics in a game dont really matter to me. They are a bonus.
Its the gameplay thats important to me.
Still go back and play old games and text based games for example. As long as its fun im happy.

Of course, for instance a couple of evenings ago I was helping a friend in Lornar's pass exploration, and I stopped at the temple of Grenth and in other places to watch the landscapes - and I had already been there several times both for skill capping and GMC for myself.
GW graphics is outstanding, one of the best features of the game.

I do, for the wrong reasons.
Ever seen a male dervish wielding a scythe running sideways? They look like Charlie Chaplin doing tapstick dance.

I've been amazed by GW's graphics since my first day playing, over two years ago. Some sights are simply breath-taking, like the Hanging Gardens in Vabbi where you escort the NPC if you get that quest.
It's always struck me as rather odd, though, that the fortune teller's crystal ball in Factions looks so crap-tastic.

Not really, i sometimes do just for kicks but mostly, i just run past them without noticing

594MB of screenshots, at ~411KB each. How many is that :P
In case you haven't realised, the answer is YES!
That place in the falls is imo one of the best places I have ever seen in every game I have ever played.

are you here just to sight seening or do you actually play GW lol

I've played too many other games with superior requirements and graphics to apreciate Guild Wars graphics as much as I should. They are amazing considering it's an online game, it has me there.

gw graphics are sexy

When i used to play on my crappy PC with DX8, no.
Now that i have my uber laptop that can play at all maxed settings, i do all the time. I have a folder with like 100's of screenshots of just good looking scenery i took screenshots of.

My only wish is that they'd animate our character's faces a bit more.

Shing Jea Island is a sweet piece of imperial real estate. That and Norn areas of EotN have my respect.

Not as much as I used to... GW just seems so aged compared to some of the more beautiful games out there. (Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Crysis, Call of Duety 4)
Although the GW:EN areas seem to be a nice last "hoorah" for GW1's graphical style, lets hope GW2 lays down some next gen techniques. After all they did say that GW2 would be Dx9 and Dx10...

Sometimes I stop and zoom in on something I've just killed. The monsters in the game are really damn neat, I think.
I've also taken screen shots of some simply breathtaking areas in the game. Vabbi and the Asuran area of Kryta have some of the most beautiful environments I've ever explored.

I love old ascalon and the shiverpeaks.

Oftentimes I turn off Winamp while in Shing Jea or the Jade Sea, then just kinda sit there for a lil while with the game music on. It's neat.

I just started playing Prophecies about 2 weeks ago, and while in pre-searing Ascalon I absolutely did stop and gap at the gorgeous vistas. I would stand at the top of a hill and just pan around admiring the scenery. Actually, I explored every inch of pre-searing Ascalon before moving on. I'm glad I did. Ascalon post-searing is very depressing and definitely not so pretty. It's like it's in a nuclear winter--perhaps that is what the game designers were going for. Very sad. I'm glad I spent a lot of time in pre-searing, it makes me appreciate what happened to Ascalon.
Alex the Great
nope, i play on minimum so no lag ever!!!
Stolen Souls
I often stop to take a look at something that catches my eye. I particularly like the jungle area of Tyria...especially The Falls.
mortis corpus
i apreciate the scenery when something pops out at me like in the crystal overlook where you see a statue in the crystal desert that a proph character would think hmm wasnt that knocked down the last time i was there made me chuckle
Alias_X
I definitely take the time to enjoy my surroundings. Especially when I'm running to droks for the 800th time or something, I notice something new each time.

The Shiverpeaks is by far my favorite out of all the areas. Anet pwns other mmos with their artwork. Daniel Docieu pwns people with his brain

Yes, I do love the graphics. I probably don't give them the credit they deserve.
Although, not having read the entire set of comments posted on the thread, I'll just say it myself. I'm becoming increasing worried about that lack of modesty and covering armor provides. Yes, many thousands of people love to look at it, but for the rest of us (which are many) I plead that ANet stops doing this! If my basic opinion doesn't make anyone feel it should be changed, then these reasons back it up.
1)Armor that is revealing and impractical. Armor like that would get a person chopped to shreds.
2)I'm sure they can't run around in armor that is solid metal and in the middle of winter (In EOTN's case).
3)Many other people share this opinion.
So as to satisfy everyone, ANet should come up with a way to change the "viewing" ability. Maybe having a "view toggle button" or something similar.
Although, to restate and stick to the subject, I LOVE the scenery's beautiful views.

I deleted my 20GB of GW screenshots a few weeks ago.
So many spectacular sights... all gone!

Croco Clouds
Faction has very hot looking place, such as shing jea island shore and jade sea.
Fluffiliscious
I usually stop at least a couple of times through a quest or farming jaunt to gaze at something that either I never noticed before or that catches my eye every time. There are so many things that are beautiful in the scenery that we're never allowed to explore, though. Sometimes I wish we could go trapsing through the ruins and buildings.

I love to stop and admire the scenery every once in a while, here are some of the pics I have taken when traveling through EoTN and Prophecies.

well, if the trend for armor continues down, will we get a bonus for running our fem toons topless?
j/k
I do appreciate the graphics, I also intend on appreciating them more when my new graph card gets to me on the 2nd, this onboard P.O.S. is killing me.
Jaceb
I try to do that almost everywhere. Maguuma Jungle, Majesty's Rest etc and places with waterfalls are something that make me stop for a while but i do find that something in desert areas too. Simplest thing can actually look quite good sometimes. Prophecies deserts for example.
CyberMesh0
My sole purpose for getting Legendary Cartographer was to see all the wonderful places GW has hidden. The Falls still amaze me, I revisited them recently to vanquish and they were just <3
kartmaster
Most definetly enjoy the graphics. There's some very artistic locations throughout the game. Most all of Factions was gorgeous. The Falls in Prophecies. The burning forest in EotN. Many many more. Can't wait to see what GW2 has in store!

I spend a lot of time gawking at the graphics. I turned on my fan at low so I could feel the breeze at one point...
