i have three elite sets for my dervish and by far i prefer primeval armour....however i do not have it dyed black...
why do i see everyone running around in black primeval? mine is dyed white, and before it was dyed red+black to give it a nice deep crimson/blood red colour.
black is ugly. it reduces the detail in the texture and design.

For no reason in the world I would buy primeval its ugly for most professions but anyways, I'd say to look rich and "good" aka e-peen enlarging.

I have my asuran armor dyed white.....I just couldn't find any color that that i liked with that armor besides the white. before that i had my armor dyed a combination of blue and purple almost looked like dodger blue it was pretty sick.

Black is the only color that covers the original color of the armor. If you try to dye 2 different armor sets yellow, you will have a hard time matching the color.

People get black beacuse its the most expensive and thats good, about 1/10 monks i see in fow have it somthing other than black or white same with warriors in primevil or fow.

I dyed my primeval white...didn't feel like looking the same as every other dervish...
I probably will change it to a deep red color or possibly a dark teal color because the white doesn't really show that well.

I was originally going to dye my derv's primevil black cause i thought it looked good, but once i tried orange+brown, it looked too sweet for me to go with my original plan of black.

Yeah, most people dye it black because it looks leet. Another part like black because it DOES look good on some armor. Don't have anything against the second type, it's the first type I can't stand and who give a bad name to the second.

Well, its not a "fact" that it looks bad when dyed black. Its an opinion. Some people truly feel their armor looks better in black. In some cases, in my semi-professional opinion, I agree.
Of course there's also a huge percentage of the population that buys things simply because they're expensive, and doesn't care how they look. I can't count how many people I've known in GW who think you're a noob because you have a cheap (or nonexistant) minipet.

ive been looking into the Derv proffesion...i have monk, war, ele, ranger, necro. I am looking for something more fun, and of course, some armors to go for. primeval imo for Derv. is horrible. my fav, i have to admit is female Elonian dyed red.

I dye all my armour green... then again that's largely a product of the character's name and Battletech more than stylistic preferences, but it is at least fairly different.

I own Two sets of Black Primeval for my Dervish. One is a 130 Set, the other is a normal set. I like black because it's one of my favorite colors, I think the armor looks good with it on, and it displays that I can afford it. Yeah. I actually do something with the money sitting in my storage. It's all preference...if you don't like black dye or primeval armor then don't get it...don't go around telling people not to get a certain armor just because you don't like it. Simple really.

My bro died his primeval black, not to show off, but because 1) he had never dyed any armor black before 2) he thought it went well with the creepy feel of the bones on the armor and 3) nothing creeps you out more than an emo dervish in black armor with bones hanging off his belt. :P

I have every armour in the game, beside a Primeval one. It just looks damn bad IMO - fishy-style reminds me of this ugly fish-like Necro armour.
