GW 1 Is Dead ????

I see a lot of talking about guild wars 2, and how it's going to be great and that you can't play gw2 with gw1 characters, can only get rewards for my maxed titles through the HoM, but i heard that ANet not going to make more extensions or ideas for gw1, and there is no more updates for it, they will just keep the game up for people to play until there is no one plays it anymore, so is GW1 is dead?? should i quit and don't waste my time playing it?? i just started 5 months ago and i feel sad that ANet going to kill Gw1 like this

Its really as simple as that, the fact is every game will eventually stop running. That doesnt stop it being fun to play while its still going does it?

Guild Wars is alive and kicking, when GW2 comes u can try this thread again.

There won't be any major updates for GW1 Imo. It's up to you, you can try to max your titles, get items to show in HoM etc. etc.

Well, i just started GW1 5 months ago and hadn't enough of it yet.
others been playing for 2 and half years, my point is why play while it's already decided the game will stop, not like many other games lives on, if we just move on to other games, what is the point in buying and wasting money and time in nothing going to end soon, has no future

Dude - if the amount of lag me and my guildies are experiencing is an indication - GW is doing sweet!

When GW2 comes out, i may be getting exited for World of darkness on line and ignore it.

But as i said before: Judging from the number of people who don't know were to get termites, i think there is still a healty influx of fresh meat. That this game is not yet completely lobotomized by institutionalized hacking (check Diablo 2 and smell the ashes), is a good sign as well.

First of all Anet said there won't be any MAJOR game update... but there will be some minors like balance and holiday and stuff like that. Second, GW2 will really be released in 2009 or 2010... two years is enough to experience everything GW1 has to offer and you'll probably miss it when GW2 comes. Also some players won't buy GW2 but they wll still be able to play GW1 and GW1 WILL NOT BE DEAD. It will still have players playing it. Eh you might even play with bots

There is tons of content and a huge map out there between three games and the expansion. Unless you have completed all there is to do and you are bored why even ask this question?

This isn't real life and you are not going to grow old and live happily ever after with the original game. Enjoy it while you are having fun and when it stops being fun for you then move on...

Besides, that argument that gw1 is dead and time playing it thou wasted well newsflash:

Every game is going to die sooner or later. Every minute you play it is in all sensible definitions wasted. You will eventually move to new game regardles of what you are playing. So, fun=continue, unfun=quit, stop caring about future of game.

its like playing halo 1, you knew halo 2 was coming yet you still played.

GW2 will be coming out very late next year, so lots of poeple have lots of time to grind their titles, like me im really excited by GW2 thats why im getting my HoM filled up with armor, weps, and stuff and yes i still love the game

Lag is caused by crappy ISP's and crappy computers. I play on dialup and I don't get any lag. So, you best look into your ISP provider or inside your puter that's where your issues are.

GW1 isn't dead by no means but I do think that most veteran players don't have much to do other than maxing out titles or continue to pvp. GW 2 isn't really that far away. The beta should start sometime in the 2nd half of 2008 and it going on the shelves in 2009. There was mention of GW2 in the article below.
