Quest is very easy run past the first two groups of grentchies while they kill your allies, Kill the lone grentchie, run past another group kill another lone grenchie, run past the two on the side, run past the next grentchies while they kill your allies. Kill the lone grentchie and your at freezie in about 3 mins, Then just let your allies tank while you mop up the waves and if you get in trouble just kite or use fortress and wait for your allies to auto res.

We're very sorry about this mixup! Bottom line: Yes, that little critter is genuine, and we're sorry that the OP has been a little griefed about this!
What happened was, the code has been in place for over a year, but we didn't enable it until this Wintersday event. I had been asked about the in the DAT file a long time ago, but I knew it was not enabled in the game at that time. Well, it was added to the game in a clever stealth update by some of the designers, and not even we (Community Team members) knew it was there! (I figure they did that because they already knew of my obsession with the Wintersday Event, and with the quests, and they knew I'd be in there 24/7, pushing people out of the way, scrambling to get up close and personal with the Rift Warden, etc., etc.
)
As for warning: The team designed not to announce the presence of this new miniature, but let it be discovered, just as we did for the Ghostly Hero and Mini Mallyx. That's why we didn't give warning.
Sorry for the delay in responding and congratulations to Witchblade. If you ever need a babysitter for the little guy, let me know.

I actually think i'll hold off on farming for it lol.
I just remembered the charr salvage kit when it first came out in pre.....23 runs before i got one....*twitch*

There are two kinds of chests:
The Wintersday Chest -- This is the chest that is available only through two special Wintersday quests.
The Chest of Wintersday Past -- This is the chest that stands at all times at the end of the Secret Lair of the Snowmen quest.
The only chest that will provide the Miniature Polar Bear is the Wintersday Chest, and that will be gone very soon, likely sometime tonight. Will it return during Wintersday 2008? That's pretty likely.

I doubt there will be one in 2008 because if you keep treating players this way there won't be anyone left to play in a year.

More info: The miniature has been in the chest the entire festival. 12 days. It was not added, it was only just retrieved towards the end of the Wintersday Festival and for all we know, more may be "out there" but we just haven't heard about them yet. (Edit to add: Let me make that clear. I am not confirming that only Witchblade has this miniature. Not at all. We haven't pulled files to see how many were retrieved, and it's pretty unlikely only one is there.)
Oh, and I fixed the GWW page so that the distinction between the two chests is clear there, as well.
