If I play, then I'll focus on one character only.
I'd also like to try getting into PvP early. Along with everyone else, it seems.
What will you do differently in GW2?

Never again will I be a Guild Leader, way to much effort for way to little rewards. Though I've a great guild now we've had some really rocky times and the weight always sits on my shoulders.
I will focus on just one char for a good long time before starting new ones, unlike GW where I maxed out my char slots everytime a new proff or slot came along.

I plan to wait for reviews or play the beta before buying GW2 instead of buying it sight-unseen and pre-ordering every expansion like I did for GW1.
I'm gonna fill up my character slots with characters as soon as I can. I'm planning on having one of every race, instead of one of every profession. Also, assuming they have the same or similar professions (if some are merged, that doesn't particularly bother me, as long as they can do everything the merged professions could do) I'll probably start with a dervish and a ritualist, instead of with an ele and assassin.
However, if they do away with the profession system altogether, I wouldn't mind. In fact, I would prefer it if each race had some sort of primary attribute/skillset, and you could change primary and secondary professions at will. As long as the race attributes didn't favour specific professions significantly over others (like Asura favouring elementalists, and Norn favouring warriors).
I'm also going to try and survive long enough to get the equivalent survivor titles, although I'm hoping they'll modify it to be a specific amount of xp between deaths, instead of a specific amount before the first death.

One of the biggest things I'd do differently would be to not push myself to play a particular character/profession/etc that i don't find fun. My first time through GW1, I tried playing a monk and it really didn't suit me. I knew monks were in relatively high demand, so I kept playing, but it just wasn't enjoyable. I "parked" that character and rolled a warrior. That monk pretty much remained unused, even after several other characters beat the other campaigns, until the time came when I needed the character slot. I happily sold any and all items that monk had and deposited the gold in storage, then deleted her w/o feeling bad in the least.
Anyway, other than that, I am hoping for the same, (or at least similar), overall enjoyable gameplay I have come to expect in GW1.
