I'm ready to begin my attempt at the Missions in Hard Mode and I'd like to know what other people think are the hardest for EACH chapter. I did Dragon's Lair in Proph and it was actually pretty easy, even the bonus.

So list what you think was the hardest in EACH Chapter, what made it hard and any possible tips for making it easier with h/h or if you think its impossible with h/h.

One of those Gate missions in Elona (either Gate of Madness or of Pain.. not sure which).. they are hell without consumables..

Myself i had issues with doing the Grand court in HM.. took me a lot patience and different pugs to do it..

what about factions? Proph? did you h/h? and what exactly made them so hard?! imba monks? huge dmg eles? Diffferent tactics for different situations ya know. super monks mean super interrupts, huge dmg eles mean huge innterupts, protective spirit spam, support para, ya know.

it took me several months to complete the eternal grove. that warrior boss is such a pain ugh. aside from never finding a living soul in town, the afflicted just plain suck.

Prophecies: D'Alessio Seaboard. Rush to Dorian, you're screwed. Don't rush to Dorian, you're screwed. Tip: a smiter is your friend.

Factions: Raisu Palace. So. Many. Shiroken. *STAB*

NF: Jennur's Horde. Filter wouldn't allow me to tell how much I hate this mission. It was my last one, I got an alliance group, we finished it into a few tries... and never again I will touch this mission.

For Elona , Dzagonur Bastion . everyone run Cry of pain in their build and one person will call hexes so th person with the hex calls a target to hex and evryone else cry of pain on that target . dead. and you also need someone with a party wide speed boost..

Jennur's horde took us a while ..... just try to pull each group and have patience

Factions ,Eternal Grove We had 2 monks both LoD,2 MM , 2 warriors ,2 eles
1 on each side and 2 jugernauts on the left side , 1 on right. So just kill the monsters and when the other side isnt done killing them , have a party speeed boost and run to th other side to help kill then go back to your side
and they were all human players .

tyria , D Assalio seaboard , Dorian dies too fast, need a monk with alot of speed boost run to him and prot him then kill the monsters. and bring a smiter

Prophecies - Nolani Academy. Even with my monk the end was hard because of Rurik's Leeroying. A MM definitely helped and killing a few charr before Rurik moves after the cutscene also.

D'Alessio Seaboard is also annoying because of Dorian getting attacked early.

Dragon's Lair was easy compared to a lot of the other missions. Honestly, I found it a lot harder in normal mode. Why? Because for some reason Glint kept spamming her skills when I did it as my assassin. I had never seen that happen before and it took a while to get the upperhand.

Factions - Eternal Grove. I had a guild group doing this when my monk was going for the title, and it was horrible. We had so much difficulty defending the left side when the afflicted come. Of course this was when HM was new, but I still don't look forward to it.

Gyala Hatchery can be annoying, even if you do the backroute. It's kind of long, and if for some reason you lose a turtle to the large group that spawns at the start, have fun redoing and clearing all again.

Nightfall - Gate of Madness? I guess it would be that one since so many people have problems with it, but I really didn't find it all that hard since my assassin H/Hed it. He also H/Hed the other considerably hard missions in that campaign, like Dzagonur Bastion and Moddok Crevice. Guardian of Elona is the easiest to get out of the three imho.

Gate of Pain was kind of annoying, but if you can shut down the spiders quickly then it's a walk in the park. Just have to make sure you don't aggro too many tormented groups at the end.

I haven't done much with HM missions in Prophecies yet. Though any I have we completed in the first or second try. Even Aurora Glade was easy, beat it on the first try.

Hardest in Factions: Eternal Grove... !%@#$^%^@$!%@#%$!@$%#@ hate...

And Kus, I didn't find Rasisu Palace that hard at all. I had a guildie group and we rolled through it beating Masters time by about 2-3 minutes.

+1. First time around anyway, second Elona Guardian knew the spawn order so it was a little easier.

Cantha I would say Gyala Hatchery.

Tyria... hrm, pick a Kryta/Magnuum mission. They're all equally boring and dragged out, nothing really too difficult.

For Prophecies I suppose I will say Nolani was the hardest, due to Rurik. I did it on the first try with Heroes on my monk, although at one point near the end Koss and Rurik were the only two standing. The one I actually had the hardest time with was Riverside Province. Had no trouble at all with D'Alessio Seaboard. Go figure.

For Factions its certainly Eternal Grove, at least until you get the timing of the attacks and when to rush to one side or the other down to a science.

For Nightfall, Jennur's Horde was a bit tricky, but I believe I had the most difficulty with Dzagonur Bastion.

Did most of them with a guildie and the rest heroes, although Ascalon was just myself and heroes, and some here and there I H/Hed or found a random player. No consumables or PvE skills. I assume they are most if not all do-able H/H, as my guild leader H/Hed Eternal Grove. Not something I feel like doing anytime soon, personally.

Really enjoyed going for the Legendary Guardian title. Have fun.

Tyria: Nothing was too hard...but Aurora Glade and Thirsty river wasn't fun

Cantha: Eternal Grove. Took a week to beat. Rest was easy or mediocre.

Elona: Jennur's Horde. Had to do it twice because I didnt kill ONE enemy in the bonus mob.

Tyria: Dunes of Despair without using Necrotic Traversal.

Factions: Eternal Grove (though i finished it at once but i knew how to counter basically everything).

Elona: Dzagonur Bastion (even tho it is not that hard).

I don't know why people say that Jennur's Horde is so hard. But i found that one of the easiest missions to do in Elona.

Tyria: D'Alessio because of Dorian as people have said. Riverside Province was a pain in NM to rescue those villagers. In HM it's worse.

Factions: I actually had some trouble with Zen Daijun. But Eternal Grove was the hardest. I teamed up with a good warrior there and we were able to beat it after a few tries with heroes. I found Raisu Palace to be a breeze. Spreading around conditions helps finishing the mobs.

Elona: Suffers from incredibly easy to horribly difficult. D. Bastion took me and my guildies several attempts to finish. I h/h'd Jennur's Horde. This was a terrible experience. It takes a long time to do by yourself. I found Gate of Pain to be harder than Gate of Madness. But this was because I had an older computer and the lag from the first group would wipe me.

I got Legendary Guardian on my Ritualist before the first pve skills came out. So I'd image that a lot of HM missions are easier now with them. I know that Summon Spirits would have been extremely useful.

My Picks:

Tryia - The Wilds. Moss Scarabs, fast moving Centaur patrols, the necessity to pull almost every single group to not over aggro, and did I mention the ^&#$^ing Moss Scarabs.

Cantha - The Eternal Grove

Elona - haven't finished but Dzagonur is proving an obstacle.

And since you're asking about H/H, I'd say that Aurora Glade and Moddok Crevice are impossible without a buddy, but are relatively easy missions otherwise.

Prophecies: Aurora Glade bonus if you try to tackle the Mantle head-on (you can't do it, just don't try), and/or if you're H/Hing it. D'Alessio Seaboard otherwise. The siege on Dorian starts sooner than you want it to, and it can be hard to recover.

Factions: Eternal Grove, hands-down. It will be one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you've ever experienced in Guild Wars, but it's tough as nails to last through the Afflicted sections. Tahnnakai Temple is bad, but bad in the "just plain annoying" way.

Nightfall: Dzagonur Bastion unless you're bringing 2 MMs, then it's easy. Ruins of Morah can be a nailbiter unless you can drop the patrolling Torment creatures fast enough.

I have been told these are hard many times. I finally went and did Eternal Grove with a guildy, we beat it first try, only one death. Dzagonur, we failed three times, then our friend disconnected on the fourth run. He had MoW set as MM and he stayed there doing nothing the whole time. So... we beat it pretty easily compared to the other times, 6/8. Aurora Glade, I failed a few times trying to plow through the Mantle. Then we saw a path that led us to the Demagogue without killing a single White Mantle on the way. D: I don't get how things turned out being so easy.

EDIT: I didn't read that part about H/H being asked for, not just in general. >> Whoops.

Moddok Crevice isn't impossible to H/H in HM. My assassin did it for masters and was easy once I coordinated my heros properly with auto-lock.

Aurora Glade though... I can't see doing that bonus H/H in HM, but if someone has then they deserve a title just for that. Same goes for Eternal Grove.

I really had no trouble with Nolani Academy, I'm assuming the part which most ppl have trouble with is right after the cutscene where Rurik blows the horn. The key to beating that part is to go ahead of rurik before he starts moving and kill some of the charr in the area. Once Rurik begins to move, and reaches you there really should not be a problem.

I'm just attempting D'Alessio now so I'm glad I've heard already that its a pain in the butt. I'd hate to be sitting at my comp screaming at the screen after having Dorian die for the 6th time

what, bastion and grove were pretty ez

bastion just move all whispers to east then defend center until bosses spawn, from there u take out war boss then run back and defend center, then get monk boss, back to center, etc until u reach ele boss.

grove, get mm healer nuker war/sin that knows how to interupt or deal dmg X2 and mission is done.

i find the hardest of them to be the early ascalon missions :C

as well as the kuunavang one T_T

maybe i need to change my build for those.

Prophecies: D'Allessio because of Dorian as others have said. Nolani is a snap. After the cutscene, use the right path trick to finish the second half of the mission in less than a minute and never worry about leroy Rurik

Factions: Eternal Grove. Just the nature of needing to split the team and finding a good make up is hard. We had problems with it even running ursan so we switch to more tradtional builds and got through it fine.

Nightfall: Jokkonur diggings. Required melee NPC taking 1/4 of an already short slot, plus the speed of that damn skeleton and the environmental effects make is irritating more than hard.

Same here, I did Eternal Grove with no problems. I have even helped friends and guildies with it and never had problems.

Hardest I'd say are probably the RoF missions or the ones in the Realm of Torment.

Yep Auora is annoying, in fact I believe that it is the only Proph. mission I could not H/H and was the last one I needed for the title.

Heres what I did, I play ranger, so you may have to adjust. My friend was the monk, he has max drarven title and he brought that running skill that lasts forever, but you need to be drunk.(turn off post processing effect).

Anyways, I brought Sab's 3 necro team with me, my exact build is listed recently in the H/H thread listing Sabs build but what was most important was that I had "finish him," "you move like a dwarf" and an inturpt. This allows you to KD and cripple the runners, and FH spikes the healers which is important because they bunch up and begin to heal each other.

I guarded the middle cap point as long as I could while the runner capped the near and far left shrine. You may have to fall back allowing the enemy to cap but have the runner ready to recap. whoever is not running should control the neco team so they can advance and fall back when needed. they will eventually begin to wear down.

Finally, I did have the grail and pumpkin pie consumable. Also I brought hunny combs to allow my neco team to take virtually no DP (though I believe the MM and SS each only died once.) Hope that helps!

EDIT: heres the link to Sabs neco thread if you needed it, that page has my build listed as well.

Prophecies: I dont remember the name at this time but it's the one with 15minutes and two monk bosses spamming heals after heals plus the priest (?) that you are supposed to kill is spamming too, to capture it. Not a biggie with curses/interrupts but go there unprepared with mostly physical damage / no interrupt / no anti-healing.

Factions: eternal grove >.>

Nightfall: Rilohn Refuge probably wiped H&H the most, that was back when i didn't have enough interrupt classes (unlocked that is). One Sandstorm and it's all over. For the quickest wipe - award that is. It's not a hard mission on it's own. Eh people ursanway missions dont know the real thing .

Prophecies: There was NONE..that I found really hard...

From First Mission to the Wilds I could do everything with Sabway ...

All the rests was somewhat of easily pugged..either with strangers..or with Guild Mates...some even only with 2 players and 6 heroes...
1 of the 3 desert missions..the river I've done again totally easily with Sabway H/H ..absolutely no problem to keep the npc alive for bonus.. I simple overwhelmed everything so that nothing ever attacked the npc...

dunes of despair i've easily pugged in 2 runs..first for mission..2nd was done bonus with a 6 people and 2 heroes pug we necro traversed....
the last 3 missios..a real joke...yesterday I became with my main char legendary guardian ...

Cantha...Uhm ..abslutely Gyala Hatchery can be a pain..when your team is not good enough skilled and without MM's in your group..mm's are there absolutely a MUST..otherwise u have not enough attack power maybe..should u have the bad luck to met on an enemy group with more than 1 monk in....because the monks are words of healing monks and when u fight more than 1...they can become quick an endless fight..if they can heal each other permanently.
Also the elementalists are a pain in an ass...have 100% people in your team with pain inverter in skill bar..to get very quick rid of them..when they use their aoe's and especially splitter armor...when your undead army attacks them...
Uhm ..vizunah can be also annoying..if you have no MM's with you...this mission is then a pain in the ass.
But with a good pug its again absoutely easy..when nobody overaggros and all follow the orders of 1..that calls and shows per drawings on the compass..which side of enemies SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY IGNORED TO AGGRO THEM NOT by drawing border lines... when the group stays then ever together at 1 spot and kills ever first every afflicted..that is in your near..until the psot is empty..than everythign works fine

Yah..raisu pallace i'd call of all missions in HM cantha the most difficult....because the shoroken eles can easily wipe you..if you don't get quick rid of them..mesmers drain your energy and so on...together they are a nasty combination.

Missions in Elona...uhm gate of Madness was for me personally the only one..that was somehow a bit difficult..but only because of the fight with Shiro and Lich together...and its a bit hard to get the one lured you want have..when u make something wrong there..then u#ve aggroed very quick both...mostly shiro is ever the first up..because he runs quicker..then the lich... but against everything what others tell..I say..in HM its absolutely best..to kill SHIRO first...then the shrine caps are much easier ...

just lure shiro first up..its also easier to seperate him alone...when shiro is above..knock him down and cripple him with the norn scream..so that he doesn#t run away..and if he tries..ever use that skill to keep shiro at you... then keep ever spoil victor and pain inverter on shiro..monks heal naturally the shiro tank and relatively quick will fall shiro...

the norn scream should be used later then also everytime when you run to a next shrine on the lich...si that the lich will be slowed down and won't follow you so fast...at the shrines..run EVER to the most back of the shrines.. so that the lich will move back to the middle.
When you have someone..that can tank the lich..then could also that one run in the middle around and keep the lich busy..while all the others cap the shrines.

gate of pain be hard ? loo..don't make me laugh..the mission was somewhat of easy...with a pug..no consumeables used...first try..direct masters.

don#t believe those people. which have made in the past bad experiences with pugs ...when you want make the guardian titles....then try to pug everythign what you don't can make with H/H...ya it means to search...but once you have some people..which know what they do and which know also good the mission...then the missions become in HM so easy like NM

grand court of sebelkeh..also a big joke...ursanwayd it masters so quick ... and before ursan or while reloadign ursan..everyone lb gaze spiked the margonizes...the blasphemy ...ya it was really a blasphemy how weak it was ...

Dzagonur again is a bit hard..there you have to have a good plan firts..in which row you kill the bosses.. do you take them on in false row...then you are really going to fail quick.

Put all the npcs on the side where the ele boss is..then when the bosses come..go kill first as quick as possible the monk boss...then go for the warrior boss..after that the team should split !!!! 2/3 of the team go for the next boss..while the last 3rd or 1 ursan is also enough rushes as fast as possible to the npc's to support them...when you rush at them..they are like at the moment still fightign some kournians and some margonites.. but it won#t last long..till the boss will move forward and the ele boss is really the most dangerous in the mission...he hits with his spells insanely hard even against ursans....but the sense of letting 1/3 or an ursan rush to the npocs is.. to support them fighting..so that all will be alive..when the fight against rthe ele boss starts...

once the 2/3 killed the 3rd boss.. they rush naturally also to the ele boss
And that should go very quick, because it might be..that the ursan player is short before dieing...if thats the case..the ursan should retreat and rush a bit into the way of the monks so that they can heal you quicker and the ursan reachs their range of healing...when
the full team has reached then the ele boss..all npcs are cause of the support of the ursan still alive...then all concentrate naturally on killing the ele boss and ignore absolutely everythign else ...ursan tanks the eles and KD's...pain invert on and wait some secionds..ele dead..mission mastered

with pugs including at least 1 ursan..all missions in HM are easy... they were mostly at all so to me...
they was a day.. on which I made 8 Missions in Elona in HM one after another
yesterday i pugged dunes of despair and the 3 last missions in HM in a row

really..when u want an easy guartian title..pug your way through..if you can find people ... ask your guild mates..ask people in you frind list...use group search on all districts where it makes sense to search..thats european german and english...,international and american...when your european..go american first at around 20+ o' clock..because then is their district mostly full

Eternal Grove - Very hard to solo but some said they have done it. I've done it with another player and with consumables. Being a Rit, I used spirit spam and MM heros. MM is really a key here.

Actually, its the TIME limits that what makes it hard for most HM Faction missions, not actually the mission itself.

TYRIA:

Aurora Glade - Not hard but tricky is the better word. Hard to solo because of running of portals. But you can do mission and bonus separately which helps a bit.

Actually, a few Tyrian mission I did, I have to do mission and bonus separately. But Im not yet finish with Tyria yet.

Tyria: Aurora Glade was my most hated probably, along with the other maguma missions, they all take ages and are extremely boring.

Cantha: Eternal Grove probably, the warrior afflicted boss is really annoying and can kill your party very quickly in combination with his mob. This was the only cantha mission where i actually suffered a party wipe so i would say this is the hardest.

Elona: I did most of Elona with a really good partner+heroes over one weekend so i didn't find it too difficult. I found poghan passage somewhat of a nightmare due to the huge mobs near the end and the tendancy of kormir and the other npc's to die very quickly.
