Ok,so i'm down with remaking chars whenever you incur on a death if you are going for Legendary survivor. it makes sense that such a title requires having the guts to do that. My sin is on his 5th remake, and everything was going fine untill I attempted the boreas seabed mission, with about 280000xp. I played all my cards right not to die, yet suddenly I get around 700 dmg from the spear of archemorus on the battle against argo,and die without a chance of being healed. The spear was at the friggin pedestal ffs! After the cutscene, instead of one spear there are two...
So now I will have to remake my char because of a stupid bug that allowed a stationary spear sitting on a pedestal to cause me 700 dmg? wtf? I seriously want my death removed, I dont care if they have to do a rollback, this is no fair death at all! Death by bug? Anet should seriously look into those bugs, its totally frustrating and wrong.
Weirdest bug destroyed my survivor title.

You died because of lag...Its *different*. I died because of an unpredictable bug. Something that should never be in there. I had about 550 health and about 3 enchants on me, i could never die at that point in time regardless of lag. I took 2 350 dmg from the spear on a row, not just one,and after the cutscene there were 2 spears at the pedestal.

If you REALLY want legendary survivor, then remake him, i didn't though.
Just accept the fact they won't do anything about it, no matter what.

It's also not fair when survivors die due to lag on Anet's side but they deal with it. What do you expect Anet to do for you? They're not gonna roll back the entire server just to give you a second chance.

I did not take 300 dmg, I took 2 full waves of 350 in a row, without any time between them. I was nowhere near the center, and I was the only one in my party that died. it *IS* a bug, just like the bug at the Vizunah square mission that later got fixed. Plus ive been playing this game since launch, did boreas seabed countless times and never once got killed by 2 spears sitting at a pedestal when there should be only one.

Well, you had only 280k xp.I had 1,308.684xp died on server lag 3 months ago.
So? There is still bug in Vizunah Square where unbound minions kill you.
There is no point to try take your death back, next time just take runner.

Anet won't do anything about it just because one person lost their survivor. I lost mine too, 200k away from r3
but it was my own fault for not being observant enough and nattering on GC.
I do feel for you though it is pretty frustrating, in the future if you feel like trying again check wiki before you do a mission or zone somewhere you arn't sure about it made a huge difference for me several times.

As long as you didn't customize the daggers you can just keep them in storage while you remake the guy. You can salvage out all the runes from your heroes (and your armor) and keep them in storage while you remake your character.
You also shouldn't buy 15k armor for a survivor until AFTER he gets Legendary. That's the smart thing to do in case something like this does happen, you won't be out 100k.

I didn't realize the spear doing damage was a bug. It has happened many times to me in that mission, and I just know better than to let my survivor get anywhere near it.

I can understand your disappointment and frustration but they're never going to do a roll-back. I have an Assassin that has made it to Survivor 1 and, frankly, I'm afraid to play him unless there's a special event going on and he can do quests.There are so many missions that have documented flaws and bugs that have never been fixed or modified and there seems to be no incentive, at this point, for them to do so.

A pity for you, but nothing you can change. And you know that it is mostly "unfair" things like lag, disconnections and other bugs that kill potential survivors.
To make it easier for you, after you achieved Survivor, you should know that it was not worth it after the first rank anymore. It is just grind and being super careful after that.

Had a Ranger at lvl2 survivor (733k exp), got jumped by ONI's (cute lil suckers) in Ferndale, x'd out at 50% health and when I logged in, BAM, 1 death... oh well. GWSupport also told me they cannot reset coz I argued with them, but I LOGGED OUT... "Yes sir, the servers need time to register you logging out"
Well this "time" was enough for me to register the death and the henchies didn't heal me enough it seems (if at all)
Another lvl2 survivor Ele (1,32x,xxx exp, yes some 10k short of LS) got hit hard with 63k ms ping... while skill capping in Morastav Trail, at Sunreach. I eventually saw the 15% dp after rubberbanding my ass off.... so
I feel your pain. I know the heart pounding, head-in-hands feeling. Suck it up and move on. The dmg you died from is documented. NOT a bug! I took 6 LS chars through this mission without dying.
You could even be confusing some of the dmg you saw, as some of the dmg from Argo and his boys (coz he is freaky nasty).

You can transfer all that to the re-roll.. cept the armor. which if going for survivor, you should have bought the cheapest max armor you could find until after r3. wiki ftw.
Use wiki to LEARN crucial information about a mission BEFORE entering said mission. knowledge ftw.
broken and bug infested? lol, try Morrowind if you wand broken and bugged. GW is far from. (still love Morrowing tho)
Legendary Survivor here. 3rd try, normal play, Assassin. I did it and no QQ when I failed twice.

Make sure to do missions with same class character before taking a survivor in. Watch for those bugs and any other thing that will take down your character in 1 or 2 hits.

How on earth did you need to spend 100k + mats on those?
max armor= 10k-ish with mats
Daggers= Can get a bad skin made perfect chep enough or a green wep 10k-ish
runes= 10-20k-ish depends if you get sup vigor
Tomes= only need like 14 normal toems and 2 elite to give you 2 differant builds t orun on. + you get cheap skills at the start. sin tomes are cheap enough anyway.~20k if you get them at a high enough price
So 50-60k roughly total, and since that is your 5th run at survivor i assume you salvaged the Runes, kept the wep and salvaged the old armor to get mats. knocking down the price a nice bit.
Anything besides the essentials are just for vanity, ie 15k armor, torment weapons which are not needed for survivor.
if your going for survivor you should research the missions and areas more on wiki, that note really would have helped alot.
when you fall of the horse all you can do is get back up, gl

Welcome to the survivor title. A long time ago the survivor title meant you did not die for X amount of experience. Now it has become a battle of avoiding deaths from lag/bugs. Maybe they can change the title to died 0 or 1 time

I have done the seabed mission on HM, we had 2 spears at the pedastel, i noticed when things died near it, after a few times it would release and deal dmg to whoever is around it ( i was in the blast zone) :-(
I thought thats what it did, the 2 of them though must of been a bug, though heck it certainly did well when it came to the end of the mission xD fastest time ive ever done it and in hard mode no less xD Il welcome that bug again anyday.
My bf had his survivor taken off him :-( He finished capping a skill and resigned (he was with heroes and henchies) i was there next to him when this happend, it took ages for it to register and stuff started to hit him, the party died from the resign as the return to outpost button came up. he checked his deaths just to make sure and low and behold the figure 1 was there. He got so gutted, of course Anet did nothing. Shame though.
