What are exactly the reasons to decide if u're buying or not gw2 18+ months in advance on the release date?
If it's half as good as the original guild wars is everything u post now will just vanish and u'll run to the store grabbing your copy.
cmon don't be silly. buy a game if it's good and don't buy it if it's bad. u cannot decide 18 months in advance knowing nothing about the actual game.
this discussion is seriously ftw

Now?
As as opposed to when?
Am I supposed to be upset about something??
Let me guess some bmp crying crap or oh the polar bear fiasco or omg more nerfs.
No, not one thing has happened lately that makes me think 'oh no anet sucks, they get no more of my monies'.
I couldnt care less how they want to operate their business, as long as they produce a quality game with fairly decent PVP. Imo GW is still a great game and i keep coming back to it.

Why would I not purchase it? I purchase games based on how good they are and little else. There are other companies I really despise but if they make a good enough game I'm there.
Now, if what you want to know is how much I will do something because Anet askes me too (such as spend extra in their online store)? In that case you will get a *really* different answer. However, that pretty much puts them in the same league as every other game company on the planet. So again - why ragequit because they moved from a trusted company to just like everyone else?
Lets face it, I play GW because it is a good game not because they have been an extremely upfront company. The latter just influences the ways (and to a lesser extent how much) I was willing to pay.

As many have said, it's at least 18 months down the road; I have no idea where I'll be by then (probably studying aerospace engineering, and I'll be waaaay to busy for video games.)
Considering things as they are now though, I will more than likely get GW2. I am impressed with Arenanet, GW itself, the lore, the gameplay, graphics, storylines... pretty much everything associated with the game. In fact, I'm sort of looking forward to a persistant world, and many of the other features that have been mentioned.
The only thing I'm not terribly impressed with is the fact that titles seem to be taking over every facet of the game. If that trend contines, I might consider not purchasing GW2.
Plus, I want a highly successful MMO, sans monthly fees, out there so I can rub it in the face of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and Perpetual Entertainment so they might follow suit with their upcoming titles....

/not getting it
Imo who the hell wants to start completely over on your characters you've worked to get items and stuff you really like over a span of 2yrs.
Maybe i'd think of getting it if they tell you what the HoM actually does.... much less bring non craptastic destroyer weapons over to gw2.....

It's nearly akin to not buying Oblivion because you can't transfer over your progress from Morrowind.
