What You Don't Want

I'm always surprised at inverse correlation between coherent communication abilities and affinity towards grind.

1. No titles.
2. No discernable difference between a certain level plateau (e.g. level 20) and the maximum level allowed. Make it as small as one additional health per level, etc...
3. No adhoc trading. The need for something centralized is paramount.

Level Cap of100 doesn't mean automatically, that GW2 will become an so feared asia grinder ...

get this prejudiced vision out of your heads, only because so much other developers of previous games like wow made all the same failues, doesn't mean too, that the devs of Anet will follow that scheme and will do those failures too >.>


we all made now really on several forums enough threads, that should have shown the devs, what kind of character develop system we like/want/wish to have and mostly too...what we DON'T want to happen .

Get some faith in Anet !!

PS:
I've no affinity to senseless grinding, but a like it, when games have some good long term motivation.. when i really get something offered, that keeps me playing on my made character for a whikle and offers me the impression, that my character becomes over time better and changes somehow over time from the weak Nobody to a famous hero or so and that this change is also somehow a bit visible.

Iwant have somethign, that motivates me in playing with my character for the xx bucks I paid for the game at least. and this for at least a months or so.. when I'm UAX in lesser then 1 day..then this is NO long term motivation, its a bad joke
When you buy an offline rpg for xx bucks.. you surely also away toat you have to play like at least 60+ hours or so (standart), until you've played through the game, and will be disappointed, when the game was then so short, that you could play it through in like 7 hours being UAX ect and have seen everythign, done everything ect. pp.


Same is it with mmo"rpgs", at least for all those people like me, which love to work some time on their characters and seeing step by step over time, how the character becomes better and enjoy this...
You can't talk about any "enjoy" of playing the game at all, when you max your characters in such short time ... anyone who sais this imo lies. People which want this, want it only, so that they can start quicker soloing, power farming solo and so on ..no thx ...

Titles that don't allow you any interactive benefit.

If there MUST be titles, which I hope there are not, please make them more interactive. If I was really a Legendary Spearmarshal, I'd have the sunspears at my command, wouldn't I?

I dont want any more grindage for titles and faction..that was the stupidest thing i ever saw in GW. GW was supposed to be a game that stepped away from the mmo grindage trend and it worked in Chapter 1..then came Chp 2 and the grindage started (faction) then Chapter 3 and EoTN well all im gonna say is the grindage for titles and faction made the game less enjoyable. It got to the point that I dont care bout titles or faction...I just play the game and missions..if i get a title out of it cool..if not...im not wasting my fun time.

Its not that its overpowered, its just so boring. in PvP you can approack a team with spirits up and they cant leave. in PvE its just to immobile.

also no terrible henchmen. al least update them when you nerf all their skills. the prophecies henchies are a joke.

She was polite and always encouraged discussion and wondered what our favorite such-and-such was. I'd much rather have those kinds of threads rather than all the negative and whiny feedback that comes through this forum.

no grind and loot scale

Half of her threads are completely pointless...

I do not want to see power creep; I don't mind powers that function differently or have other/different effects, but I don't want to see power A become obsolete because power B was introduced. I'd also like to see a bit more though put into powers that may be exploitable in some way - such as skills that aren't meant to be permanent allowed to do so by means of another skill like echo, etc.

Lastly, I do not want to see our characters reduced to mere spectators in the overall plot; if we are given the opportunity and means to defeat a god, as we are in Nightfall, then I better get something out of it other than a pat on the back and a green item.

So is 98% of the Riverside. It's just "general discussion," as the title of the forum states, and people post in here mainly for fun. I like her threads because they've always encouraged positive and non-debatable discussion.

1.Titles and/or Title-linked skills:
Went completely the opposite direction from the "original" guildwars design. Adding title linked skills made it worse, because now if you want to get into a leet group for ursan uw HM clear, its not about skill>time; its now time> skill which was NOT what guildwars was designed to be.

2. Minipets:
As soon as anet rolled out with these mini monsters that served no better purpose than armor (and couldn't be displayed in town at the time) i thought "oh $@^& there goes guildwars." Seriously, theres no point to them. Id rather have anet working on the REAL CONTENT of the game rather than some stupid miniature that follows me around and stands on my corpse when I die.

3. Overly instanced world:
Listen, I do NOT want to wait around for 4 hours friday night only to have that uber boss killed by someone else and have him get all/any possible loot, then have to wait another 4 hours for the boss to spawn again. Guildwars BOASTED its instanced world when it was first released, and it was and continues to be a sucess. I see no reason for them to divert from this.

4. Cookie-cutter classes:
Anet had some good inspiration with the assassin/rit/para/derv; but in many cases the ideas were implemented badly in my opinion. I would like to see that by playing gw2 we are not simply playing a "revamped" bad version of gw prophecies.

As long as they don't have "uber rare" mini-pets, then I want them to encourage them. They've been a real fun and simple to implement addition to the game.

And interestingly enough, I used to think just like you back in my "rebel forum days." I think I have an old post about when mini-pets would go into stances and I clearly remember posting "useless update. Thanks ANet." Bad times : \

I understand your concern. However, remember when it was stated in an interview that a lot of things we're seeing in GW:EN are definantly ideas for GW2? One of those ideas was the instancing of certain quests. I'd imagine they'd go in that direction: Talk to NPC, get in your own instanced world, pwn boss, return, rewards, run into people. Sounds awesome to me.

Sardelac is an entirely different bag of chips with different rules and the like. I myself am talking about the Riverside, and from over here that her threads have in no way caused any harm. And no I won't visit Sardelac because I consider it just as if not more useless as the Riverside. It's also less fun and much less popular.

Matter is closed as far as I'm concerned. We've already caused enough OT havoc as it is. And considering how annoyingly Tender Wolf has been treated in her suggestion threads, it's polite if we both shut. If you are so inclined to talk about her, you know my PM address. If you want to continue posting on here for all to see to become a "winnar" then enjoy.

zepplins, flying pigs, aemoured tanks and most definetly no W.M.D.'s

No max level cap, no maxed gear.

It's extremelly boring after hitting max.
Playing PvE, questing, killing stuff and gaining lots of experience points and knowing that your character can't become even a tiny bit better is teh suck.
Having perfect gear (super easy in gw1) means you can't find anything better but only more of the same, no thrill, just lame.
(ofcourse it should still be balanced, skill>time played, with very small character power level differences at the top, with no required grind)

I don't want to see a promise of an auction house or anything similar if they have no intention of pulling through with it.

Time > Skill.
