What is your top 3 ArenaNet mistakes?

i got the last one, it's the fxxking farming code, if u spend that much time farming, u deserve something good...
Carboplatin
green weapons and aoe neft.

Oh God, it's like picking the favorite three hairs out of all of them on your head.

Biggest ones are:
1) Handling of the BMP. It was a nice idea, but the execution (in terms of "how to get it") backfired horribly.
2) Trying to balance PvE and PvP using the same parameters (skill base, equipment, attributes etc). It was going to either make PvE more tedious than it needed to be or PvP broken. They partially addressed this with PvE skills, but I'm hoping GW2 gets it right from the start.
3) Domain of Anguish. Elite missions are meant to be tough, I know, but when they start to eliminate entire character classes from viability, something went badly wrong. Ursan Blessing fixed that problem, but it's not much better to have to rely on potentially the dumbest build in the game to beat it. Guild Wars is supposed to reward you for being clever, not for copying cookie-cutter builds.

Like you said in #2, I think the many in the GW community are just cheap asses who don't want to pay for WoW and just wished they played it. Honestly, what is cool about GW is that it is GW. GW back when it was only Prophecies = top 3 best games ever for me at least.
1. Listening to the community members that want to make GW2 look like WoW
2. Titles (especially grind-based ones that are not account-based) and PvE skills (especially Ursan's Blessing...)
3. Changes to HoH

It's not a mistake if it makes more money.

I honestly dont hate many things in this game. the few that i do are minor things that i can ignore or avoid. like gold spammers.
my biggest peeve is the drop rate of the zaishen chest. if any anet Staff are reading this, go have a gander at the "Post your zaishen chest drops!" thread. probably around 9/10 of the drops are Cremes, Firewaters, or common tomes. (Assassin tomes anyone? they are like 250g each.)
mostly the other things are minor, like breaking a lockpick and getting a crappy, non max, q13, smiting wand thats purple and has a "of pruning" mod. that isnt inscribable. but i cant fault ANET for that, just my own luck.
personally, i think anet has made very few mistakes with this game. ive been having fun since i bought it. you people with your "ZOMG I HATE ANET" crap need to chill. honestly, what have they done thats all that terrible?

1. Not handling the duping, you dont get 1750 armbraces from farming + buylow/sellhigh + extreme luck in a lifetime.
2. Making Urgoz's Warren + The Deep end chest weapons inscribable. I loved Zodiacs and now they are worth ****.
3. While I am at it, inscribables as a whole. Fun for some skins, lets everyone get perfect weapons but keep some skins uninscribable. Inscriptions took the "lucky drop/identification" out of finding a cool skin with a nice requirement.

1. Loot Scaling
2. Forced to play Factions in a certain order.
3. Only able to use 3 not 7 Heroes (maybe 7 upon release of GW2?)
Will need all 7 heroes when people desert GW for GW2.

I think they only made one mistake, and that was during the year of the ig redux event.
where they assigned the gifts as opposed to grab as many as you can, that was the fun of the event the rush to get presents now its jsut sgo afk for 10 min and pick up whats yours.
everything else was ok, aoe, loot sclae it all made sense,

1. PvE skills tied to titles
2. Grind titles (catro, skill hunt, protector, I like titles like these, game play oriented)
3. Easy as pie to get max everything. Whats the point of trade if nothing is worth trading? WTS_max9 dead sword? LOL, GL
4. DOA <too long
5. Urgoz, Deep. 12 party size, WHAT?
Tombs, Urgox, Deep, DoA, all should have been the remaining god realms.

1 Loot scaling
2 DOA - It just wasn't very good compared to Factions Elite missions.
3 Sorry, I have to say loot scaling again, that was such an awful decision.

1. Not making the Prophecies/factions items inscribable
2. Developing Factions to be so easy and not worthwhile( and really making everything else so short compared to prophecies)
3. Making GW2 seriously, i wanna keep everything I worked hard for from when i got it nearing three years ago why can't they just release a bunch more campaigns...

1) too many pretty armours
2) only 5 stand for armour in HoM
3) not enough (rather no) dedicated storage space for said pretty armours
and
4) not really enough variation in dye colour for said pretty armours, 4 dyes just does do too much any more

I haven't read the entire thread so somebody may have said this already.
This is so ridiculously easy for me:
1. Factions
2. Nightfall
3. Eye of the North

iono the present thing was pretty stupid. liked it better as who could rush to pick up presents first. at least it made present spawning an active activity (lol cant word it any better) instead of a wait xxx mins and pikc ur crap up event.

1) War of the Worlds concept (deciding pve favor by pvp was stupid enough on its own, but the real mistake was separating the server for it)
2) titles with ingame effects (including pve skills)
3) making the game character centric instead of account(=player) centric

When the Factions and NF PvE Skills came out I had no problem with PvE skills however since the introduction of the massive PvE list in gwen, I started to hate them (I still do alot), maybe it's just me but I prefer to use the normal skills, I think I'm just loyal to using the true skills and thats may of playing, Sometimes I have no choice with Light Of Deldrimor since its the only (crap) way to get more money.
IMO why the hell would I use a slot to get more money. They could have made it as in you require lvl5 and delver and you have an effect called "True Sight" or "Eye of the Miner".
Dungeons Are good and rewards tho are kinda lame, lets take frostmaw for example, 5 LvL's (not so hard with cookie cutter builds) however still takes quite some time, you get to the end just to receive a stupid diamond from the chest, Players don't want diamonds they want gold or green drop. Incase of Elite dungeons I'd say a certified random green and a gold in HM.
Conclusion: My top Arenanet mistakes would be bad designing of rewards for dungeons and PvE skills attached to titles that require grind (even if the titles arent that hard to get) not all players like to grind But as we all know this game is time over skill.
