Can you get banned for this?
Sypherious
Ok, let's say your an officer, and you kick every member in the guild, then leave. Then the leader sens pics of the status to a.net, saying that you kicked everyone. Is this a ban? I'm sure they wouldn't ban someones $100 dollar account for this.

You can't see me
Either that or he wants to report someone that did it. No, it's not a reportable offense, but I know some guilds are promoting everyone to officers just so that doesn't happen.

anyways, Anet bans for lots of random and seemingly innocent reasons, but I believe how people run their guilds is their business, and that is (or should be) off limits from the ban stick.
Sort of like, if you want to call all your real life friends horrible things, your punishment will be living with the consequences.
Sapper_V
Sounds like a dickish move but you can't get banned for it.
Albert Algorn
I've seen this done before by an unscupulous officer. It is difficult for a guild to recover to it's pre-sabataged state. We had to use friends lists and screenshots of the roster to try and get everyone reinvited.
Guild leaders take note... get your sceenshot now.
I hope you aren't thinking of doing this?

Yes, I've heard of them banning someone for this before as it goes against the ROC. You cannot abuse other players or attempt to cause them grief or hardships.
Dev121
No you wont but I wouldn't do it, you wont get much out of it except a childish laugh over it, then they'll just re-invite everyone. Which means you'll look like a tard and they'll keep on playing.
makosi
I suppose it can be categorised as 'griefing' so if you were to send that info to support, they have solid grounds for an account suspension/termination.
If you're guild has about 50 people in it, it would cost about 5k to then re-invite everyone plus a lot of time and inconvenience. That definitely sounds like griefing to me.

that's the risk you run with your officers. however, it's not against the EULA and therefore likely not bannable.

It happened to our guild once and it wasn't funny. If you have a problem with your leader that is between you two only. Only a very immature person would try and hurt all members just to spite the leader. After your post you can be sure that any who sees you in game wouldn't want you for a guild mate.

Of course, posting this here where your guild are most likely going to see it was a very smart idea.
DarkWasp
I'd ban you.
N1ghtstalker
i highly dissaprove such a thing
if you hate your guild that badly just leave and don't say a word about it
kicking all people won't make you better

Such a childish thing to do, very much gradeschool garbage. I would boot your ass from the guild and be sure that you dont get a home anytime soon
Jetdoc
I don't believe you would get banned, as it is in your inherent power as an officer of that guild to kick whomever you want.
It's not nice, but definitely not any sort of violation of the EULA, IMO.

Sypherious, what has happened for you to think of doing it? If it is a grievance with you and the leader, then just leaving would be the more mature thing to do. By kicking everyone, you not only cause the leader grief, but the other officers and members too.
Fella, just bite the bullet - tell the leader why you are going (without getting stressed) and join another guild.
oh...and as Stretchs said, if it was done to mine then I would ensure that the leader of every guild you joined after mine were aware of what you did, which I doubt would go down well.

To the OP: Just quit the guild. Then turn off the comp & find something else to do for awhile, sounds like you may need a break from GW.

In common parlance this is called griefing. It's a violation of the good conduct expected from all players, much like scamming.
As to banning you for this behaviour, they can actually ban you for nothing at all, so yes they can ban you for this. And they should, since it's just puerile and frankly says quite a lot about what kind of person you are...

If causing other players "grief" is bannable, then no one would be playing.
I've done it many times, never been banned.

No, but i wish they did.
Once a TRUSTED officer went AWOL and kicked everyone on his second account to try and look innocent.

Its just a really dumb idea.

Kicking everyone is just way too immature, dude. Try to solve conflicts and it doesn't work, leave the guild. I guess.
Should be bannable IMHO >_>.

ANET doesn't care if you spent $300 on their game. If you are hurting other players, and you are reported, you're likely to get banned. Don't be a dick.

to OP Uninstall GW, go play something else

The OP didn't say he actually carried out this process or wishes to do so. It was a hypothetical question.
Ok whoops I missed the other post. >_>
Well at least he made a sensible decision in the end.

Always fun to check threads like this, my first thought about the title was: ...mmm flame warsss...
Nothing else than I expected.
To stay on: its not bannable imo, but whats good in that?

Not a good idea, in my opinion. It may or may not be bannable, but regardless, you still end up hurting your own reputation a lot more.

On topic.. If you wanna do it do it tbh..and @ the guy further up who said "I've done it many times never been banned" way to go admitting it on forums with your char name posted up? ¬_¬

Someone in my first guild did this. Then again the noob leader used to promote everyone to officer as soon as they were lvl 20.....
Thats the first way to make a guild full of fail, but I was an uber noob and took the first invite that came to me then.

The OP must be 16. A lot of emotional investment to want to do that to a bunch of people, and ruin their enjoyment of the game. Immature to think of doing that just because your ego was bruised.
Carry that attitude into life and you will end up with an aluminum bat across the kneecaps.
