Many has seen it. Many has endured it. If you haven't, you either just started playing Guild Wars or you do everything with hero/henchmen, but it is simple.
People who think they're better than you, and "nicely" inform you how to play the game, beat a mission/dungeon, or just flat out want to ruin your experience playing the game.
So I ask: How do YOU deal with these kind of people?
Egotistical

I just develope a low opinion of the person, finish whatever it is we're doing, and leave the party when done. For egomaniacs in town, Ignore list is where they end up.
I won't turn off local chat because of some of things that get said in local. That's letting the jerks win. I use the ignore list for potty-mouths and other such annoying people that happen to be in the same place I am. It starts getting full, I clean it out.

Actually, no one treats me like that. I've been playing since summer 2005, don't need much advice.
I actually flaunt my knowledge of the game sometimes (though not rudely) and tell people what I think of their build/strategy. That's not to say I'm some sort of lifeless uber-1337 guy that knows the game inside, around, and outside, though. I'm not perfect, just good.

Generally, I simply roll with it, since they are presumably the party leader. As long as they arent outright rude, I let them organize it the way they want, since I'm willing to try any reasonable approach. I'll coordinate with the other monk to figure out our builds and let the rest fall as it may. There's a fine line between egotistical and outright being rude.
Half the problem in PUGs is people not willing to set aside their egos. There's always more than one way to tackle a mission or an area. Most PUGs fail when others in the party refuse to work with the leader etc and actually try it their way. Granted, if the player organizing the party is over the top in terms of rudeness, and the other monk is refusing to ping their build so I can compliment them in terms of how to set my build up, its usually a good sign to politely bow out before the party enters the area. Find another.
I almost always have a good PUG experience when I PUG. The key is being open to input from other players, despite your also knowing well enough how you'd approach the problem, and then using your experience to work with it. Just avoid the excessively rude leaders and parties where arguments start even before you leave. There will always be someone with a high ego, but just let it go most times.
