Factions : Worst Last Mission Ever
Atellier
And to top it all off, I bought a Shield of the Lion for 5 platinum right before doing the mission. Then I saw the Exalted Aegis and slapped myself.
Credits were kind of cool, though.
(If you can't see, mission completion time is 1:31, lol.
mr_groovy
gg, screenshot section stuff though.
Bryant Again
Yeah it's a pretty lame mission, but is still cool in itself.
Accursed
how is it the worst?
you got master's

I don't get how this makes the last mission in factions the worst ever.
Also 30/-5 shields are terrible.

I think the OP is saying it is the worst becuase it is so, short and lame.
I think the end of a chapter/champain should be epic or at least take longer then 2 minutes. I know the first time I did that final mission, I got in a PUG and we did it in 1:12. I was almost sick when I found out that was the end of the game.
Even though the end of Prof was fairly easy at least it took some time to get to, and kill the final mob.
@OP NF ending is almost as short and lame as well. Don't get your hopes up for that one if you haven't done it yet.

I don`t know I thought killing Shiro was fun and after doing it the first time I just wanted to do it again. Nice and short I suppose like an arcade type of game thing, 50p a go, they could have made a nice profit with that one.
Biggest downfall was Nightfall, run in then run away rinse and repeat, why bother?

I'm glad Factions is short. Makes it much easier to get max guardian.
NF = whoo, kill the same creatures ten times each [exaggeration unless I was PuGging], run in, run out, get KD'd.
Proph = epic.

factions has been out for what a year and a half now? Can we please keep our complaints up to date >.>
And dont complain if you were dumb enough to pay 5k for a blue shield lol

I enjoyed killing Shiro I thought the length was good as well. It's amazing how many people are having trouble with him though, and Varesh as well, well... more people to make gold out of I suppose.

Also I do prefer that they didn't put Shiro at the end of some long mission like the Lich in Prophecies. Offering challenge for the casual player without the frustration of having to walk long way back to him in case of failure.

Oh well, I can always switch between the shields for different situations.
Also, as for my complaint, I never got around to beating Factions until now. Now to finish up Nightfall as well. Factions beats Prophecies for ending cinematic though, sailing into the sunset was so cliched I was about ready to puke.

Not after I already got the Exalted Aegis. D;
Having both could be useful in certain situations though.

hmm this mission..? sums up what i feel A.net did to faction : Rushed to make a game not even half decent as proph and to rob us $50 of our hard earn money.
Shadowmere
despite being the last "mission" imperial sanctum was just a showdown with shiro. Shiro and only Shiro, unlike in Prophecies where the boss showdown was included in the "plot foiling" fight with the boss's minions. I admit they could have made it longer and more interesting by doing the "stages" kind of boss with shiro. get him to x% health and he moves to a new area and does something new and more deadly. Anet seems to be a fan of the one area slugfest showdowns though (look at Abbadon).

proph last mission was well thought out and deserving of the title "Last Mission"

Although in all honesty I really didn't like the prophecies story overall, jumped around too much for my liking, not to mention we just kind of forgot about the All-Powerful Plot Device of Orr at the end. If it actually tied up the plotholes it would've been amazing. good story, but I didn't like how our heroes seemed to leave every other threat to humanity unchecked after running into them for a bit. Bah! How did I start ranting?!?
anywho, I did really like one "twist" in Nightfall's story when we had to fight Shiro and Lich at the same time. That kinda built up the anticipation of fighting Abbadon imo (even though Abbadon himself was a bit of a letdown). I mean if this guy has the endgame bossess of the last two games working as his minions he must be pretty damn kick@$$.
Gah! Must Stop Ranting!

Look. There is a very sane and logical reason both NF and Phrophecies missions are so short.
They made them short so that if you wanted to craft endgame armor, you could do so easily without having to rebeat a 45+ miniute long mission.

What mission takes 45 minutes?

They could have easily tacted the Shiro fight onto the end of Raisu Palace the same way that you can consider the Lich fight is after defeating Undead Ruric. Similar with Abaddon and the Great Destroyer. Having that little break makes it easier to get to those end game areas and also allows you to change up skill bars for the final fight.
You can look at it another way, if there was Prophecies endgame armour and greens it's quite possible that the Lich fight himself could be just a seperate mission to make access to those areas not as time consuming.
TaCktiX
...Or they could make the endgame area accessible at all times once you get to it the first time? I dunno, that might make sense.

Oh man, Prophecies story was all over the place.
OH NO, THE CHARR ARE INVADING. Bah, forget that, let's leave.
Why I would love to join the White Mantle.
Whoa, a Lich guy.
Wait, Shining Blades are the real good guys.
*forget about the Lich at this point*
TO THE DESERT!
BACK TO THE SNOW!
FIRE!
Hey, look a Lich. I wonder where I last saw him....

Everyone and his pet monkey has an Exalted Aegis, it's not particularly attractive and it's strangely resistant to dye.
You came out ahead.
Atellier
I suppose you're right, but the last mission was still way too easy. Literally under 2 minutes? Wow.

ANet probably got tired of hearing complaints from players about epic failing late in Hell's Precipice and having to redo 30+ minutes of work to try to fix the problem.
The endings of Nightfall and EotN aren't THAT dissimilar. Harder, and slightly longer duration, but the end boss in EotN was easily soloed by a Monk at release.
EDIT: Hell's isn't hard, but it was somewhat more challenging when people didn't understand builds and only Prophecies skills were available.

But, but, but...I beat Hell's Precipice first try. >:
But yeah, I can imagine how many people complained about difficulty.
<3 Hard mode. Can't count how many times it has killed me now.

-5/20% is best for paragon since they use not too often position and enchanment. If there was a mod -2 while under effect of shout, chant etc etc...

This, in turn, was due to a lot of PvP'ers complaining that the PvE of prophecies was too slow and long.
And all of this, in turn, is probably why ANet intends to separate PvE and PvP in Guildwars2 - there's just no making everyone happy in one go.

My paragon has 4 shields...2 for motivation 2 for command, one +10 vs fire for each, one +10 vs lightning, 1 +10 vs earth and I switch builds around according to the area, and the type of elemental damage encountered. Water doesn't bother me too much because it's rather rare in the areas I need to fight...but when I get to EoTN I'll probably get one of those to fight all the water eles in the norn areas.
On my warrior...it's always -2 when in stance or enchanted, depending on if I use a conjure or Dslash build, and i'm getting Sentinel's insigs for the +20 vs elemental damage, rather than my current knight's insigs.
I disliked the Factions storyline. There really wasn't much time to explain what was happening, and all the cutscenes were way too drawn out for my taste. Shiro was the bad guy, but in the cutscenes it showed him to be a good guy who was going to be betrayed, so he saved his own skin. I guess he should have let the emperor kill him, that's the "honorable" thing to do?
RotteN
Look at it this way :
Did you realy want to fight Shiro at the end of Raisu Palace ? That would've made for a longer final mission. But you'd get tons of people whining they got partywiped by Shiro. Be glad you get to fight him in a seperate, shorter mission.

It's always the same in Guild Wars.
Penultimate mission annoying, final mission cheap.
Prophecies: Seals removing all energy, lava pits and a ton of mursaat that won't get pulled out of the fortress >> Puny titans that go in parties of 1..3, a Gr boss that can be pulled miles away from the titans and a Leech that almost kills himself if you gaze at him.
Factions: A lof of Shiro'ken and thier be a bit carefull or you'll kill yourself builds >> Shiro killing himself with spoil victor and pain inverter.
Nightfall: Shiro + the Lich trying to kill you while you try to capture the sanctuaries >> Kill abaddon in no time, just by removing conditions and a bit of heal and interruptions.

What is the point of the OP? Is the screenshot trying to prove how pro he is? I don't get it.
Fantus
Considering that I sometimes want to go armor shopping without having to do 45+ mins of mission, a 1:30 min final mission is actually not a bad thing.
I do consider Raisu Palace + Shiro to be one mission, with an outpost to have a coffee break. The combination of both is by far the best final mission in GW...
