GW2: greatest/worst
Winterclaw
Here's a GW2 question for everyone: what is your greatest hope for GW2 and your worst fear for the game?
Hope: Skills will balanced with a minimal number of sucky skills
Fear: The new leveling system will suck all the life out of the game and turn it into GrindWars.

Hope: little/no grind

Hope: They really make the world as worldish as they say
Fear: ..don't have one I guess.

pumpkin pie
Hope: the payment thing stays the same as GW1, buy the game play for free
FEAR: "hidden cost" free to play, but have to buy A in order to do B kind type of thing, for instant, ArenaNet's Dungeon Runner.

1 up and 2 down
Hope:Epic Battles/storyline.
Fear:PvP will be bad.

Halmyr
Hope: will still have the double bladed axe
Fear: will turn out to be a giant grind fest.

Shayne Hawke
Hope: What I put into the HoM = What I get in GW2.
Fear: It will be too much like GW, not having enough new stuff in the right places to truly be seen as a sequel.

Atellier
Hope : It stays as true to Guild War's roots as possible.
Fear : It starts turning into WoW. I'm going to miss having all PVE maps be unique to your party if the rumors about it turning into a true "world" are true.

Malice Black
Hope - It's better then it is now

Kyp Jade
Hope: Do away with the class system, allow characters to change primaries
Fear: pvp will not be fun like it was 2 years ago for GW1

Gregslot
Hope: They surprise me like allways and turns out to be a top1 game at the entire world.
Fear: Repeat the same mistakes in the past (ecto 16k, grind grind grind, unbalanced pvp and pve). Basically the sum of all fears.

Nightow
Hope: No loot scaling (whether it helped us or hurt us in GW1, it put a damper on the community was a topic of too much debate.)
Fear: The developers will once again force us to do Hard Mode for drops+titles and put in DoA level areas (minus UB) if we want to explore a part of the game.

Hope:That PVP can be made in such a way that it is easy to get into, and also in such a way that it does reward those who are the best.

HOPE: The game is beautiful and has good character development and lasts atleast as long as GW1
FEAR: They have less emotes than GW1

Hope: No titles.
Fear: Titles.

Hope: The described emergent skill usage creates new dimensions of playability with fewer skills, making balancing easier and more logical.
Fear: Some skills are massively IMBA, the rest uberly suck (i.e., what we have now).

Hope: I get a game for 50 bucks that stuns me as much and involves me as much as the first. And also, that the HoM carries over somehow nicely.
Fear: I get a game that requires serious grinding to do things. I have not bothered with many of the PvE only skills because I can't be conned into repeating areas, quests, and random bounties that much. R3 Norn skills FTW!
If such things become required, or even SERIOUSLY suggested (i.e. better have r6 whatever to do this area well/quickly/sanely), then I'll be deeply saddened.

Shadowmere
Hope: It will stay true to Anet's original aspirations for GW1 and expand upon what we have now (basically be an actual sequel).
Fear: The constant world, high lvl cap and ingame race conflicts will turn it into a WoW clone.

Hope: World PvP will be worth a complete game on itself, allowing players to assemble their own factions, conquer territory and resources, create military and industrial infrastructures; all with complete PK liberty, serious consequences for death and no cheap escapes from PvP.
Fear: certain shards of content will only be available through online purchase.

Fear: The world will still consist of mostly instances.
Rhedd
Hope: That the art style, especially concerning the characters, will be similar to GW1, and similarly good.
Fear: That anything Bazompora hopes for will come true.
Well, that and I also fear that the fact that I've played more/less than my friends will suddenly be important when we want to adventure together. Levels FTL!

Hope: That they will create a great storyline to go with all the rest of the stuff that sounds cool at the moment, and that that storyline will be different, or at least start differently, depending on your character's race. And also what Kyp Jade said.
Fear: That they will merge some of the professions, and not keep some of the abilities of the old ones in the new one (since that didn't make a lot of sense, even to me, I'll clarify. Say they merge the necro and ritualist, since both work with things that have died. My fear is that they will keep some of the aspects of both classes, like minions and spirit spamming, but get rid of others, like channeling. That's just an example of course, but you get the general idea).
Buster
Hope: More pve content
Fear: Loot scaling
Fear: Loot scaling
Laughing Bat
Hope: That levels will be completely removed from the game(attribute point quests ftw!)
Fear: That levels will be similar to most of the new titles and the game will become more about leveling up than actually getting better at the game.

Hope: More love for PvE. More content and class balance mored geared towards PvE, e.g. for Assassins and Mesmers.
Fear: Dumbed down super easy and grind heavy gameplay, basically just another grinder MMO.
This includes their unlimited levels, bad idea...!!

garethporlest18
Hope: The follow LOTRO's way of doing persistent worlds in a good way with LOTRO's persistent world flaws fixed.
Fear: That they give in to the [expletive]s here and don't make it persistent

bhavv
Hope: will be 100% soloable
Fear: PVE will not be as good as expected. Lets say they put in 40 levels and it is possible to get them all in a week, or if it takes too long to get them. They need a good balance with the extra levels and persistant world.

StormDragonZ
Hope: I can play the game like any other game. Difficulty progression and situations where certain things occur in a way I can take my time doing without rushing blind and deaf.
Hope2: Hall of Monuments will give not just items, but discounts on things in the game like the cost of armor.
Fear: The main reason GW2 is being made and not the "Utopia Project" is because World of Warcraft is planning something at the same time.
Fear2: GW2 will have Shiro Tagachi in it.
Fear3: The Sylvari are a ripoff of Night Elves.

Hope: the non-instanced world adds to immersion and sense of scale; the separation of PvE and PvP allow both to be great.
Fear: The non-instanced world leads to grind, tedium and random asshats getting in the way while questing; the separation of PvE and PvP lead to even worse "elite area" cheese and forced grouping.

shoyon456
Hope: Balanced and diverse skills that don't force cookie cutter builds and encourage class/skill combo diversity
Fear: Title grinding will once again try to IMMULATE actual character development, in fact, i fear grinding of any sort that would require me to complete a certain "dungeon" or elite area. Skill>time spent anet! remember what you started with!

Hope:
Any character getting any skill and being able to do and reach anything, egardless of professions. It would be great to be able to change even primary profession, so people would just one character of each race: one human, one Charr, one Asura, one Norn, etc... and they next campaigns add new races that can also learn everything.
Same professions for al races, just with different names: Charr Shaman, Asura Priest, Human Monk, Norn Quack, Silvary Curer. You'll have to go to Charr lands and befriend the charr to learn their skills, but you could get tham all with the same character.
Fear: Character limitations. Being able to learn only some things with each character, and making different professions for each race with different skills.
Not being able to have one character of each type with all skills in the same account.

Fear: everybody will be rushing the game, hoping to be the first to find that uber farming spot/ultra rare skin/super hard mission to run.
Nobody is gonna play the game like at the launch of GW1. Too much "Previous knowledge" to enjoy gw2 as a fresh new game. It will be a huge rush with constant e-peen contests.

But, I hear you. Especialy PvP, I miss fighting in the Tombs(now HA) before builds became solid.

Hope: that it's everything good in GW1 -- times Ten, with inovations that revolutionize the genre.
Fear: That it's taking steps backwards to try and compete with the Asian Grinder.
