Private tab in storage.
ManiSan
I had this idea last week.
Im now playing PvP, and i like to use PvE chars. Thougt they have nice looking armors and weapons, thats not the main reason. I find easiest to select weapons with different skins to fit the situations.
So, I've some storage issues. To play PvP at a decent level, we need many items, shields vs fire, cold, piercing, etc.., 20/20 sets for each attributes, 15-1 sets, etc...
One char is, almost, perfect stuffed: his inventory his full, and he have a full tab in storage.
Using a mule is totally out of question. I cant (and dont want anyway) log another char, take a staff, then log out/in again... Thats just painful, and ridiculous.
There is a simple way to resolve this problem. A new tab in xunlai chest, a "private" tab. Whenever you log a char, this tab will contain his items.

FANTASTIC idea! That way my storage whouldn't be chock full of a million armour sets...my characters could simply have their own armours stored in the "Private Tab"
Most certainly /signed.
Most certainly /signed.
System_Crush
interesting, I'm not directly suffering from this problem, I use my belt pouch and 1 of the 10 slot bags on each char and that is enough to store they switch able equipment and weapon sets in.
I however like the idea, its not just another more storage/armor storage/mini storage, whine; it's an actual good and useful idea.

Why doesn't anet do what most other mmorpgs do? Let people pay for extra storage. They have the perfect money sink, and no-one complains about needing extra storage again.

I like the idea, and I'm all for it

I don't know either. i mean it makes sense, but maybe GW has enough gold sinks with what, 870k obsidian armor?

This idea does make some sense.
However, one could get around it by making sure there was ample storage space in current vault to store the needed items. That is where a mule would come in handy .... to clear out some of the excess stuff from your vault and free up space for the other items you want to keep handy.
Just an alternative way, as I don't think ANET is going to add anymore storage now.
PS. Forgot to add

Yeah i think idea for private is Nice But it wouldnt be Nice that you wouldnt have Any storage for all chars then you couldnt change item from differend char to differend atleast not easyly.
RhanoctJocosa
More storage space (and I mean like 100+ slots) would make life so much easier for me. My warrior literally has 1-2 free slots in inventory at a given time, my storage is full of old school stuff/random junk, and all my other characters are full of upgrades, holiday hats and items, etc. It seriously takes me upwards of an hour to organise my items sometimes >< I wouldn't mind paying for more storage space but I don't think other people would like the idea.

Although I like the idea quite a lot... there's the problem about login in two characters of the same account...
If this is possible, I would agree it for sure:
- Private tab:
*Acquisition: Pay 50g to the Xunlai Agent.
*Use, change to the Private tab. There's only a single button: "Open someone else's inventory".
*Hit the button. Input email(if not saved)/and password.
*Now that tab turns into the F9 panel of that another character with a 'close' and a 'change' buttons at the bottom.
*To access heroes and equipped items, you would have to log in the other character, though.
*Trade items.
Done!
But, as always, is easier said than done...

that's a pretty cool idea and would be very neat! A character private tab is perfect for customized weapons and armor!

This is a superb idea. My main character's 15k sets already take up one tab in storage and one bag on my bank character...

And here I was, had my flamethrower out and ready to go...

Shadowlance.
So by adding a "private" tab for each character, you're basically adding a new storage tab for each character slot you have filled. I see no reason to make the tab "private". I'd rather have additional storage tabs where the number of tabs equals the number of character slots you have. Then if you choose to use them as private (you assign one to each character) or if you choose to pool them for all your characters, that is your choice.
xmancho1
or u could just pay for new tabs with increasing tax rate as was suggested and ull be able to have as many tabs as you wont for each character

I love this idea, /signed.
I can now have all my shields/swords/axes in that tab without having to log off to grab from my mule.

Witchblade
there wont be extra storage since there are character slots in online store
ManiSan
The reason to make the tab private is that you dont need to share much stuff between characters.
This tab would be reserved for stuff used by this character. Your warrior wont need your mesmer staves.
Basically, it acts like a bag, with the difference that it couldnt be used to pick more drops in PvE. It would be "the house" of your character.
Originally, i had this idea while playing PvP. Before starting a battle, i went to storage to pick weapons related to my build.
And no, having a mule doesnt solve the problem. Ive 8 slots, one of them beeing reserved to reroll a PvP char. So, I have to share the storage between my 7 other chars. Each of them using a full tab, that is just impossible. And i dont mention all the usefull stuff (tomes..), the free place, etc..
Using heroes as storage is just awfully unpratical, and will prevent me to use them.

I would pay some $ for it especially for my character that is collecting 15 k suits of armor

Bleh. No need to pay with real money
If i had to buy new slots, this would be to create a char of each class, and a free slot for a custom pvp char.
No matter how much space you have, you'll always want more. I played Anarchy online, with 200slots in "bank", each containing a bag of 21 slots, and that wasnt enought ! Of course their is much more items on AO... I still dont think that having 20 slots/char would make so much difference. We will just have more items.
I must be really lazy compared to you, gw players, you're so many to use mules, and I cant imagine doing that

Private tabs wouldn't help in improving what really needs to be improved - easy access to storage in gerenal. People already use other characters as mules, even buy many slots just to have more mules, but the tiresome annoying need to log in and log out multiple times between mules just to find that shield remains. I'd much rather see a solution to open other chars inventories through Xunlai Chest without the logging out, without leaving team, without losing contact with a buyer, etc...
but still, /SIGNED as more storage is always better.

Though I wouldn't mind just having a few more tabs for 1k each, or a private tab for 500g. It would be a very nice addition.

It is a good idea but i can see the limitations of storage from the network/hard drive space side of things. I would be willing to pay real money like 1 or 2 dollars a storage tab that way anet can offset the cost of the server storage/hard drive costs.
Ku Ku
/signed - although i think armor storage would be equally as welcome! Or perhaps a weapons belt rather than a belt pouch that could hold more items, but only weapons? *Shrug*
ValaOfTheFens
Great idea. I'd buy more armor if each toon had their own personal storage. My Necro has 3 armor sets and my Ranger, Derv, and Mesmer all have 2 armor sets. I have one whole tab taken by armor sets and some toons carry their spare armor. Also, I have a large collection of weapons on certain toons and need a place to put them thats outside their inventory.

This idea like getting one additional storage page for each character slot we have in addition to the current system of one storage page per purchased game. The only difference is that these additional storage blocks can't be shared across your account.
The current design acts as an incentive to get players to buy additional expansions, since each expansion increases your Xunlai chest capacity. I assume that the current lack of storage is partially a function of the cost to Anet to provide the database storage, i.e., disk space.
The problem with this idea is that it requires Anet to spend money, but it actually hurts the current incentive system which encourages players to by expansions to get at that storage.
I like the idea, but there seems too little in it for Anet to bother.

Even it it just took customized (armor and weps) I'd be ecstatic!

How about not an extra storage but a command like /bonus?
Set all the weapon you want and then /weapon. You have all of those save appear in PvP.
What you ask is nothing more than a mere extra storage stuff that everyone else is talking about.

Don't see it happening but I like the suggestion. Should have been done when GW:EN came out as a way to store all the customized destroyer weapons and 15k armor that I have accumulated since GW:EN release. As it is now I leave one tab in my chest completely empty and move the 15k armor to that tab before I start playing which is time consuming.

It would be great to have a tab for each character's personal use. It's something that could actually be done and it's something that should have been done with the introduction of the concept of the Hall of Monuments.

Sounds like a really good idea, but it only should work for customized stuff, otherwise it would just be extra storage for anything.
