Starcraft 1 was a good game. I'm expecting 2 will be good as well (better for me, since it's more flexible, and I like to twist some things to my will...!).

What it won't be is a replacement for GW. It is neither an MMO nor an RPG.

If no monthly fees, I would buy Tabula Rasa in a heartbeat.

I'm tempted to have a go at Warhammer Online when it comes out, which'd be even better without monthly fees but that won't happen.

However they seem to have a limited respec ability with the morale skills (less points to buy skills than there are skills) which really isn't attractive, but if that gets changed i'll head over for a tryout.

Well i'd get on WoW, for the sole purpose of harrassing these two guys I know (in real life) that wouldn't take a moment to shut up about WoW if a hot girl came in and ripped her blouse on the nearest peice of furniture.

I'd play StarWars: Galaxies just because I'm a SW fanboy

I thought it was kind of interesting that Flagship Studios (Makers of Hellgate: London) is experimenting a bit with a subscription-free MMO as well. I don't know much about this game, but it looks better than some I've seen: Mythos Preview on GamesRadar (posted Jan. 30, 2008).

It seems like there is a spectrum running from (1) Buy Game + Subscription to (2) Buy Game but Play Subscription-free to (3) Free-to-Play but purchase in-game items.

It'll be interesting to see how Mythos shakes out. It's in beta testing at present, I believe.

I'm trying it right now. It feels just like a 3D, light-hearted, and less complex Diablo 2. I wouldn't get too excited over it right now. It's yet another generic hack-and-slash skill-tree RPG, except online and with boring animation.

I am hoping to get into the Mythos beta, just for yucks. I did try Dungeon Runners a while back (it may be better now, I don't know), which seemed like virtually the exact same sort of deal as Mythos, except that DR was really not all that "free" -- critical perks and benefits really had to be paid for. I also did not much care for Dungeon Runner's over-the-top silliness.

Mythos looked slightly more promising, from what I could see of it and from the gameplay trailer.
