Best/Worst GW Voice Actors
Eldin
Post your favorite and least favorite voice actor for each GW campaign. There was a thread like this last year, I'd like to see this discussed again though.
Me...
Prophecies
Best: Saidra - I love her as a character, her Jamaican-ish accent is fitting too.
I like the Dwarves in Prophecies too, except for Brechnar who sounded like some British guy.
Worst: The Seer. I know she's supposed to sound all magical, but it's overdone. She sounds like some crazy old woman - and her voice pitch changes, during some lines she sounds 7, during some she sounds 70.
Factions
Best: Ugh, all the voices failed. If anyone sounded half-decent, it was Mhenlo. Despite the bad voice acting, I'm glad they didn't TOTALLY ruin an awesome Prophecies character's name.
Togo sounds like some white guy trying to mimic an Asian voice by holding his nose, but come to think of it, I cannot think of a more realistic voice for him.
Worst: Danika. She sounds like some hyper 7 year old. Everytime I hear that "LIEK OMIGAWSH LYSSA BE DAMNED! I'M ALRITE LOLOLOL" line in Arborstone, I just want to kill myself.
A close second would be the Fortune Teller when she overemphasises some words in the cinematics. "I see GREAT things in YOUR FUTURE!" We're not deaf, lady.
There's also that Canthan Noble female at the end of Nahpui Quarter, who sounds like some little 3 year old girl. "Awe yoo heer 2 take us to de etewnuw pawadize?"
Also, let's not forget Kuunavang. Sounds like Glint's Asian twin on helium.
Nightfall
Best: I loved most of the voicework. I think General Bayel and General Morgahn have very good voices for military characters, and Palawa Joko is just awesome.
Worst: Varesh. Mind that all NF voices are pretty good, so it's not THAT bad. But I have some nitpicks. I still have "yoah pwecious pwiests ah safe" in my head. Yeah, she substitutes her R's for W's.
Eye of the North
Best: Gwen's voice is very fitting, is she voiced by Kari Wahlgren? Also, did Kari Wahlgren voice Tahlkora? I love Kari Wahlgren. Did I mention I love Kari Wahlgren?
On a sidenote, Vekk is just awesome with Maurice Lamarche voicing him, and Ogden continues the tradition of good Dwarven voices.
Egil Fireteller has a nice wisened voice as well.
Worst: King Jalis Ironhammer. WHAT HAPPENED HERE? In Prophecies he had an awesome voice actor, he sounded like some kind hearted Russian dwarf guy. In GW:EN, he has the same rickety old man voice as High Priest Alkar and some other generic dwarves. I know it's hard to keep in touch with voice actors, but this replacement is just icky.

MSecorsky
Vekk: We must go back to Rata Sum and prepare for tomorrow night Gwen
Gwen: Why Vekk, what are we going to do tomorrow night?
Vekk: Same thing we do every night Gwen; Try to take over the world!
Vekk - best voice in all the games IMO. Lydia is good to.
Does she speak?

1 up and 2 down

Worst: Player characters in prophocies

Mesmer in Need
Worst: Danika.
Best: Vekk.
Best: Vekk.
hurric
haha some good comparisons
Togo's voice really sucks big time. I like how it sometimes screws up and the leader (male) talks in female voice or vice versa. it's been so long since i did prophecies but I think Rurik had a good voice too.
Also don't like the old chinese guy before the Celestial mission in factions (Nehpui?) who uses some american or british slang (forget what it is) but it's something so unfitting for an old guy dressed that way. (uses modern expression)

eeks
Haha, the horrible thing about the Prophecies player character voice actors is that the male one is recognisable in certain anime dubs, and other games. (Think practically every FPS out there)
He's actually decent in them! For shame!
I'll have to concur with you, Eldin. Danika makes me want to mob every monster in Arborstone and risk failing the mission, just so I can see her die. *sigh* Worse yet, she sounds like some hyperactive Asians I knew back at school. Ugh.

Finn Ferral
The guy in the cinematics at the end of Nahpui. He's got some sort of airhorn thing strapped to his head and he says something about 'naga cub birthday parties.' Grumpy old fool, I have urges to /facepalm him everytime I'm forced to watch that scene.
Boris De Pig
For me it's Oola.
Simply amazing how she can get the arrogance of the Asura over so well.
As far as Factions goes the most hilarious is the Seer with her 'Beware the Harvest Ceremony' line, it just creases me up every time.
Prophs I quite like Glint. The voice is kind of eerie and fits her role quite well.
Worst is Rurik, he just sounds like a whiney kid with no respect.
Nightfall I agree with a previous poster, Morgahn is awesome. The line that causes coffee to spurt out of my nose is the 'Abbadon will eat your eyes' from General Kahyet.

October Jade
I mute my computer every time I see the Ghostly Hero. He sounds like he swallowed half the desert just before meeting you.
CougarTheTall
Elder Rhea sounds like her voice is raking fingernails over a chalkboard.
Danika sounds like the kind of girl I would like to beat to death behind the dumpster of an IHOP with a quarter inch pipe wrench.
Shiro sounds like he's trying to say everything while straining out an enormous shit.
I think the Ghostly Hero was voiced by the same guy who was in that porno where the girl is like "But I poop from there!" and the guy says with a Ghostly Hero voice "Not right now you don't."

All the voice acting in Factions fail.

Imo I always thought Zhed was the best. Whoever did him did a great job even though he has fewer lines than many characters.
Syco Masato

Nightfall-
Best- I liked General Morgahn. He cool like dat. Same with Palawa.
Worst- Kormir. I just don't like her voice.
Eotn-
Best- Vekk, Livia, and Ogden.
Worst- King Jalis Ironhammer. Oh how they butchered his jolly voice.

Prophecies
Best - Evennia
Worst - Ghostly Hero, or possibly Prince Rurik (though the voice actor for Rurik did a great job as Zhed.)
Factions
Best - Courier Torivos and Emissary Heleyne (envoys)
Worst - Danika
Nightfall
Best - General Morgahn
Worst - Melonni
EotN
Best - Vekk. I mean... how can you beat that voice? Best in the game. Livia is a close second.

Best: the guy who does the HA voice.
Kiragi Yagami
Prophecies - Adelbern was pretty good, sounded very Royal, so it fit. Rurik on the other hand...
Factions - I dont care what people say, Togo was awesome. The creeper fortune teller lady sounded like someone was beating a cat with another cat.
Nightfall - Koss' voice fit him. Melloni's didnt. Kormir's voice was rather creepy as well.
EoTN - Cant beat Vekk. Anyone who did the voice of Brain deserves a medal for awesomeness. Jora's voice seemd a bit Manly for me, even if she was a 10 foot tall viking woman who more than likely had a penis.

IlikeGW
Eh, feels more general to me. They're all middle of the road in Prophecies, Nightfall, and GW:EN, sometimes decent, sometimes slightly less so. It's never particularly great if you sit back and watch a movie or something for comparison, though.
However, Factions is so bad I've been known to stop playing the campaign for long times aghast by how awful the last cinematic was. I wonder what the hell happened there. If you look up the credits they did use professionals, but it sounds like children making a home movie... it makes no sense.

Shadowmere
Prophecies
Best: Evennia
Worst: Ghostly Hero
Factions
Best: PC voices, they weren't spectacular but they beat most of the other factions voices to hell
Worst: oh god who do I choose? Danika I think, but I can't forget grunting Shiro, and the Fortune Teller
Nightfall
Best: Nogru, I actually really liked him when we actually saw him in cinematics, but lots of the voice acting was great. Most of the heroes had wonderful voice acting imo.
Worst: Dunkoro's Son, you only see his ghost in Gate of Pain cinematics but something about the way his ghostly voice was modified just bothered me
EoTN
Best: I think Vekk, though there was quite a bit of good voice talent this time around as well
Worst: King Jalis, the poor dwarf must've gotten an awful cold on the hike up to the far shiverpeaks, he sounded terrible.

Factions HAD to have been done purposely bad. It's some inside joke or something.
Nevin
Koss, Vekk, and Jora get my votes for best.
Danika, Pyre Fierceshot, and Gwen for worst.

Conners from Conflict Global Storm.... Aka the male prophecies character voice.
-Sonata-
Proph
Best: Glint. I don't know why, I just love it.
Worst: Rurik. And while this may be off-topic, I still believe Ron Jeremy would play Rurik if Guild Wars was ever made into a movie.
Factions
Best: If I have to pick, with a gun to my head, Togo.
Worst: Let's see... Elder Rhea gets my #1 vote. Is she a chain smoker? Shiro is a close second.
Nightfall
Best: Joko! Fits the character perfectly. Also Varesh. I know many don't like her, but I do.
Worst: Kormir. I plug my ears, sorry. Plus, she always body blocks me so even more reason to put her on this list.
Eye of the North
Best: I really like Pyre. He's the Charr I love to hate and hate to love and sounds exactly how I imagined a Charr would sound like. A nice meaty voice :P
Worst: Jalis. He really, truly, sounds like my Grade 11 Physics teacher.

Ghostly Hero's voice was pretty annoying.
Vekk and Pyre Fierceshot ftw !
Vekk and Pyre Fierceshot ftw !
Darkobra
Who can say no to the Prince of Persia, Rurik? Him and Vekk.
Shiro's was just horrible. VERY poorly done. "The last time we fought, you stabbed me IN THE BACK!" "The last time we fought, you didn't use a monotonal voice with a sore throat!"

Olaf Olafson is my favorite character in the entire game, so it's obvious where my stance is.
My least favorite characters/voices are Vekk and Varesh.

Zahr Dalsk
Best - Livia's.
Worst - the Player Character (particularly male in Factions), Mhenlo (his voice sounds fake whenever he's speaking, and I also hate Mhenlo), Danika (so annoying), Shiro Tagachi (his voice is just plain WTF?), Togo (also WTF?), Rurik (see Mhenlo), that Stone Summit king (just sounded retarded), etc. So basically everyone, yeah. What the GOREDENGINE happened to text instead of voice? Give me Morrowind dialogue boxes!

Nadia Roark
I was surprised at how little diversity there was for player-character voices. I do not bother watching cinematics on my warrior since the male hero voice doesn't sound anything like the huge motherf*cker you inevitably are when you play warrior.
But the best performances I've seen in this game come from Stephen Jay Blum (he was Spike in Cowboy Bebop) as Justicar Hablion and Maurice LaMarche as Vekk. To this day my brother and I will periodically point to the screen whilst watching Futurama and go "That's Vekk!" Maurice LaMarche was a regular on Futurama.

Danika
Owait...those are all factions =]

Prophecies:
Best - Rurik
Worst - The guy in the great northern wall who says "PRINCE RURIK!! PRINCE.. rurik" (sounds like he couldn't be arsed the second time) and Erol.. Cheesy as hell..
Factions:
Best - Mhenlo, Kisu
Worst - Shiro, Vizu (their cutscene makes me cringe) and of course, Danika..
Nightfall:
Best - Morghan (he has the sexy monotone voice thing going), Palawa Joko, koss, male player character.
Worst - Kormir.. felt like a half hearted performance from her
EotN:
It was pretty good all around, Jalis Ironhammer could've been better but since it was the same guy who did the voice of colonel campbell in the MGS games.. he did a pretty good job.. Gwen was a bit poor as well with some of the lines, but given the clichéd dialogue anyway there's not much you can do.

Zorian Direspell
To an extent voice acting can be influenced by writing, so I'll judge both.
Prophecies
Overall Quality: B. Lots of good voice-acting, but some terrible moments as well. Generally one gets the sense that the lines were better written, which probably made the voice-acting easier.
Best VA: King Adelburn, Vizier Khilbron and Justiciar Hablion
Worst VA: PC voice, Glint
Factions
Overall Quality: D-. Terrible voice acting the awfulness of which was compounded by bad lines.
Best VA: Oracle of the Mists (actually got into his role), the old (flashback) emporer, the envoys
Worst VA: Danika, "eternal paradise" girl, Elder Rhea, Vizu
Nightfall
Overall Quality: A-. Great voice acting and decent lines. One gets the sense that the characters were a little more flushed out before their lines were written.
Best VA: Koss, Varesh, Zhed, Morgahn, General Bayel, The Hunger (actually the best scene in the game is the confrontation between Bayel and the Hunger)
Worst VA: Goren.
Gwen
Overall Quality: B. Great voice acting but uninspired or redundant lines. Notably, clicking on Gwen in the Hall of Monuments will produce the same "How can I help?" line (in the same voice and tone) as that produced by Imoen in the Baldur's Gate series. Similarly, Vekk had a great voice actor but terrible, uninspired lines that failed to distinguish the character.
Best VA: Ogden (fits character), Gadd, and, especially, Pyre
Worst VA: King Jalis, PC voice
