hello (sry for my poor english)

for people who don't know the term:
fff=fast faction farming
hfff=fast faction farming with heroes
hfff bot= ???

I have decided to make that thread for 2 reasons , it's prohibited , and because /report have no consequence.
The Bot can be found easily with just enter "hfff bot" on google , on first page...
Bot are running on lutgardis conservatory , the fff land.
It's not difficult to recognize the bot's user , they all go on "flag" melandru's hope (near exit)
, make litle rotation and after too schuss.I have see 2 different version for hfff bot.
You can see it on all lutgardis region , asia ,europe and inter.

They are now more bot than real people who make hfff , it's very ridiculous.
I know bots are not new in guild wars , i remenber to augury rock , ember
light camp ,droknar ..with all the asian's bot the first year, but the hfff bot is not only a money
maker or a website pub:
this bot can be use for 2 titles ( survivor & off course kurzick title)
, money farming (quest reward) and for help to own a city.

I think to give possibility to make faction title with quest was a failure for
faction and i understand you can't change the system after 2 years~ but pls dont
leave the faction title become a simply bot farming.

I hope gaile or andrew can give me a answer , if you try to resolve that problem
or if it's the end and we can all use a bot .. :@.
thx for try to read me ^^

Yes I agree with orange that there is a lot of bot for hfff in lutgardis (perhaps it exists for luxon side, I dont have check in each disctrict). You can easily see the hfff bot just changing the district you are in lutgardis to see a lot of "famous" guild who hfffb...

We have a topic in a french forum, but we suppose that a topic here can be more efficient to ban the bot users !

/signed !

lutgardis AND mount quinai. bots farm the luxon quest aswell.
it's completely ridiculous when u see that over the last months cavalon and hzh alliance were full of botters.

we have a bot list with 200+ entries and reported them all multiple times with no effects. u can see them all day long any given moment farming those quests.

Bots in Lutgardis is ancient history. Many dozens have been reported. Anet are not going to do anything about it. Also, faction farming, unlike most other bot activities, is essentially victimless. (The only victims are the alliances hoping to control the capital cities, but this late in the game's life what is the point?). We already know that Anet look the other way for certain bot-like activities such as drinking alcohol, so this isn't exactly unprecedented.

ETA: Anet can remove the faction reward for the two Scouting quests. It would solve the problem overnight.

This... this is really depressing.

People would actually risk getting banned just to get some faction?

Not to mention how totally pointless it is anyway, there isn't any sense of satisfaction in a reward unless you work for it yourself.

Thats correct in this form. We dont criticize the hfff, we think people who use bot would be banned.

ps : sorry if I make some mistake in my english too :/

Well, it's like life people always try to cheat the system because they are lazy...

I think there are so many bots, that Anet cant really keep on top of them as they have said they need to be sure they are bots and not people just farming over and over.
Like we see them in districts doing certain movements over and over...i dont think Anet can see those movements...unless it logs every move evey character makes and then that would mean a lot of data to sift through.

Rubbish. It requires one GM to spend one minute in Lutgardis to spot half a dozen bots. Send each one an unignorable GM-PM or two and then calmly reach for the ban button. You just need to start a scare, not chase down every last bot and exterminate it. Gaile can accomplish this much during a mid Tuesday coffee break.

I go there and report them if I'm feeling down.

I still say they should sneak in some bot traps. A couple strategically places obstacles appear in town and all the bot programs will stack up and be stuck until human interaction.

This would make it extremely clear as to who's doing what.

Well, they aren't all bots. I got accused (and a hilarious thread on GWG ensued) for being one simply because I used the Melandru's signpost. It's just that when you're doing something mindless, and doing it over and over and over, it pays to use as much advantage as the game affords you and one of those advantages is "target nearest object -> Space Bar".

With that said, however, some are very obviously bots. They either consistently rotate at the signpost and then wallhug up the RHS, or they rotate and move diagonally across the whole staircase. Again, even this isn't concrete evidence but for observers who cannot pass judgement, it's pretty simple to see.

All I'm trying to do is show that though (as far as we all know) all bots use the signpost, the converse of that statement (that all signpost users are bots) is not necessarily true.

this could work if they did it every hour or so but it will not work if Gaile only bans a few dozen then calls it a day.

the only way to do it is to constantly ban bots all day long and this will not work unless they put in a automated ban bot which Gaile has said they do not use/do

bots do not sleep, bots do not eat, bots do not slow down

Anets GM's do sleep, and eat, and get tired.

"for every 1 bot you ban 2 take its place"
the bots will win every time.

This raises the question of why you were searching for bots on google in the first place, but yeah it sucks.

Pwned....

Anyway /notsigned because I was in the Sins alliance as a FFFer and it was our life, it is not our fault if bots come into the area, just ban them.

It took me over a week to get un-banned when I was mistaken for a bot doing hfff.

I did the mindless run to the sign rotate and run up the stairs. It was so boring and tedious.

I also ran with "all" chat off and my status set to off-line because I hated all the 10 year old BS and requests to join a hfff team.

There is a very fine line that Anet needs to walk with regard to banning accounts. I, apparently, acted like a bot and never responded to anyone, therefore I was a bot in their eyes. It was a total pain trying to convince them otherwise.

Perhaps they should create a anti-bot program that monitors behaviour..perhaps not have them banned first off, send them an automated response which requires them to repeat a number...if you are not a bot you can reply and nothing more happens, if you dont reply and your still moving around then obviously your a bot. ( i mean who is that ignorant to noy reply to a GM )

Oh yeah, and there are no GM's per se, in the game.

Izzy and a few others have "observer" accounts, but that's about it.

It's always been this way, just like there are still loads on bots heading to Mineral Springs. Sorry, welcome to Guild Wars.

What is sad is that I have witnessed members from well known guilds who exhibited bot like behaviors during this HFFF of Melandru's Hope. Sure can be tedious. But when the same person does the exact same thing over and over again and also takes the same ammount of time to get to the exit, expect to be called a bot. Also when it is more than just a handful of people acting the exact same way, well sure looks fishy to me.
