Should Mods & Inscriptions become stackable, or have a trader?

It's not about people not wanting to buy them, it's the difficulty of the seller and the buyer finding each other. If I would have to use 30 minutes to find a prospective buyer to an inscription worth 2k then it's just not worth my time. I don't get my money, the player looking for that inscription won't get it, everybody loses. A trader would directly solve the issue, stackable items would solve it indirectly through the ability to have more items for sale at the same time and thus reduce the average sell time of a single item.

Try putting that up in Sardelac, maybe we'll get lucky and someone from Anet will see it, its quite a good idea.

You wanna hold some stuff as you might need them for a build u didnt yet think of. Selling them would mean you loose quick access to such an item, as everybody will just merch em, and thereore you need to waste time finding a low value item

/stackable i would not care, i see truth in the statement of people that it will just induce stockpiling to infinity
/signed for trader, that would relieve all from the need to hoard stuff

Dealing with these things in my inventory is one element of tedious micromanagement I don't need in the game.

Absolutely agree - I've got tons of mods I can't use but occasionally need one I don't have. Trying to find the right one is impossible - you just hope a person who

1: happened to bother salvaging the mod (why bother anymore when everything is worth so little?)

2: didn't bother merching it after an hour of trying to sell. (the variety of mods is so huge a person trying to sell one or two types can't find the right buyer and just advertising "mods" is totally useless)

3: is willing to sell rather than keep it for himself because he knows it will be hard to locate one if he needs it

4: had trade channel turned on or checks search at just the right time

5: is willing to switch to the mule tune who is carrying that mod at the moment

happens to be in the right city and on the right server to see your request.

Last time I needed a mod it took me an hour and a half to find it.

Something needs to be done.

It's always fun to take some crappy golds from storage and salvage them to make Teh LeetNess req11-weapons for heros/for new build. Yay i had hard time to find useful inscription for shield but... still. No trader, it's fine as it is.

make an auction house instead then people wont have problems finding the mods they want. its the same thing as going to a merchant and buying and selling except its real people, like it should be. why should the npc's get all the fun selling and buying?

Seriously, that is problem.

If i happen to meet someone what wants mod I have while it am at "playing" character, it always end up this way:

1) Gotta stop whatever i am doing (i.e. trying to sell different stuff; leave group i am in; stop pursuing quests or storyline(mood breaker); stop farming; )

2) Make sure he will wait for me to get it from mule, haggle about price

3) Remember/Copypaste his name and location

4) Relog, repeat until you find correct mule, HOPE you really have that item otherwise you gotta apologize (or "disappear")

5) Map travel to that outpost, contact buyer again, or make buyer map travel to your mules location

6) Hope he waited, didn't get better deal in meantime, didnt go AFK or simply didn't disappear.

7) Make trade.

8) Relog to previous character.

Seriously, this can take up to 15 minutes, and its 500g-1k mod. Not worth it. I rather pass such opportunities even if i have such mod.

They're certainly not, took me 3-4 days and having to do an auction once. People don't hold on to most, except for uber popular ones.

You have 2 minutes to bring me a +20% vs dwarves mod for daggers.

Time is out.

Only the most used are 'pretty easy' to get.

If you want a mod that most people do not save, you must find it yourself. If you are a PvP-only account player wanting to quickly mod an item, you can't.

That reason alone is reason enough for this.

If the XMP isn't coming then I'd love to see a mod trader. I'd class mods as a "needed" part of the game and having to rely on random drops or outpost spamming is pretty scandalous.

/signed for Trader (and while they're at it - a mini trader would be nice).

/Ummm for Stackable (I don't really care - I put mods on spare weapons, which makes them kinda stacked).

Even with XMP you depend on other selling the stuff.
Traders get their things even from what people sell to merchants (that's why purples are so cheap in traders even when no-one sells purple runes to traders).

Should be like runes, and I really can't see why they didn't so in the first place.
They even added insignias to traders, but not inscriptions. Yeah, makes sense.

Non stackable, with traders like runes.

Go take an economics class...
I said it would WEAR THE ECONOMY DOWN. NOT MAKE IT INFLATED.

If OFFER >>> DEMAND, prices will crumble; just look at Ectos, Armbraces and Greens. Its not just a matter of offer/demand though. The more people own of that stuff, the more prices will go down.

Even if the poor player might benefit from this, ITS NOT A GOOD THING. Unless your a Gold Buyer... or you use bots.

Prices reduced for the most demanded upgrades is not worse than absolutely no offer for the rest.

Currently, if you want a +2 fast casting rune (whatever the strange reason is) you can get one, if you want most upgrades you will find no people selling them, just the typical ones.

/signed for both

but

stackable >>> trader

stackable items could retain more value, thats much better for the economy, more value out of quality drops, more return out of lockpicks used. I strongly prefer this option.

mod/inscription trader would have an exactly opposite effect - everything would be worth far less, mods worth less than 3k now would be found at the 100-300g range, only those few currently above 5k would keep some value and would remain above 3k. Better for buyers - everything instantly accessible at super low prices, but worse for the economy as a whole - the fact that currently Supply >>>>>> Demand would be even more clearly visible, and for the farmers and sellers it wouldn't be different than just merching stuff - the trader's buy prices would drop ultra-low.

If I were to choose one, I strongly prefer stackability.
Or much better - Xunlai Marketplace, with a limit of items for sale per player, so the market doesn't get instantly flooded with 1000s of every single mod.

The solution for storage lackings is removing the need for storage.

Armor unlocking, miniatures working like hat makers, and, of course, traders.

For what will be Storage, them? My, for weapons, trophies and consumables, of course!
People should get swords and booze, like in a certain Baldur's Gate quest.

No need to stack them since you will always be able to sell them at a trader or to a player; mods or inscriptions which are not sellable this way are not worth keeping either.
