I remember selling non-max white Chaos Axes to noobs in Ascalon for 1-5k each I also remember selling purples for 20-100k

Yeah, I remember selling 20/20 collector focuses (Healing, usually) for 3k each (these were earned as a side effect of farming golds). Good times.
