Reasons you would never delete your <insert class>
RedStar
I'd never delete any of my chars. I spent too much time on all of them, and why would I delete a char ? to make a new class ? I'd prefer to buy a char slot instead.
Velise_Snowtorm
I won't delete any character over a year old, because by that time I've already invested the time into playing/skilling/gearing them up and I refuse to do it again. At this point I don't play through PvE for fun, I do it just to get it over with or make a little money.
PvP characters are expendable, but I do have one PvP toon that made it past a year.

So, if you have all the materials required to make a consumable you would need: 40 million divided by 250g = 160000 skill points But let's say you spent money on materials and let's say you bought a really expensive consumbable and spent 3k per (that's pretty expensive since you're hoping to make a profit) you would need: 40 million divided by 3k = 13,333 skill points My ele has only earned 5,428 skill points over her 77 million exp. (see picture below) Double that would only be a little less than 11,000 skill points over 154million exp. Even 150 million exp will only yield around 10,000 skill points for consumables. This is only assuming you spent nothing on skills or you would have even less points. This is also assuming you bought a consumable at the expensive 3k, but you probably bought it for less -- otherwise you wouldn't make 3x the profit like you said you made -- meaning you would have needed more than 13,333 skill points... Sorry for this long comment, but I get really curious when things just don't quite add up. Did you have many other well experienced characters also buy consumbables with their points because your assassin alone couldn't have possibly acquired enough to buy 40 million worth of consumables with just over 140 million exp? Thank you in advance if you choose to answer my question. Anyways, I wouldn't delete my ele or my rit ^^ |

the 40million gold takes into consideration, A) stacks of materials. B) time<sorry but i count effort put into a project as gold>, and C) the 250 per consumable....,
as far as getting the exp.. once i found out that the consumables required skill points.... i went back and started farming hard mode with scrolls solo... 350% bonus exp from scroll + hard mode in nightfall... <looks at the classic monolith farm that yeilds about 1mil exp in a few hours even without any bonuses>
(note about "time labor money" ok.. i spent 6 weeks trying to sell these without stopping to farm, like "most" decent farmers, i can pull in AT LEAST 1k every 5 minutes farming the simplest of mobs.. there are 52,920 minutes in 6 weeks, devided by the 5 minutes per plat, i lost 10584 platinum by not farming... thats 10.5million gold from time alone.. <granted i dont farm every day 24/7 so it's only about 8 million... i odnt sleep much, im home schooled and my fiancee played GW with me, so yes, i play ALOT>

I would never delete most of my characters;
My Necro because she's my main, has 3 elite armor set and generally has the most time/money invested in her, that and I'm just very very happy with her name/look
My Rit, because she was my first char, and even though I slightly botched her name and I'm no longer happy with her hair she's got lots of sentimental value (and 2 elite sets)
My Sin, because I've absolutely fallen in love with assassin awsomeness, say what you will about them they can absolutely tear everything up.
My Derv, was the first char I got an elite set with and is generally just awsome all around.
My War, has an elite set and is just awsome looking (though she feels rather slow after palying my sin)
I have one of each proffession, I don't really want to delete any of them but if it came down to it the 5 listed would be the ones that get saved

You can't see me
I would never delete any of my PvE characters, since you can just buy a new slot instead of letting all that play time for titles and such go to waste.
Taisayacho
Same, none of my PvE characters. I've spent too much time on each, made sure each has all the necessary elite skills, good weapons, and not the cheapest armor (cept my dervish, 1k Sunspear)

Thanks for providing the missing piece!
Your original statement that you spent 40 million on consumables misleads people into thinking that it was 40 million hard cash.
Even when we take into account the material and crafting cost, the amount of skill points needed to craft 40 million worth of consumables couldn't have been earned by the experience on your assassin alone since you say you're currently only over 140 million exp.
But now that you mention that time spent selling items while you could be out farming is money in your eyes (or money lost actually), it helps to explain and dispel a lot of the confusion surrounding your numbers ^^

I'd never delete my warrior, because i love warriors, because she would get up in your face, and kick your faces ass.

Captain Miken
My Ele or either of my Warriors, because my Male Warrior and my Ele are my two most used characters, and my female character has 17 req 7s customized. Stupid mistake customizing them on a character named after an ex-lover.

I would never delete my Ranger. Why? She is my oldest character after I deleted my Warrior and she has been with me through some great times.
I would never delete my Dervish. Why? When Nightfall came out, I was extremely excited to have a scythe as a weapon (I love scythes) so I went with Dervish. I never expected the play style to be so fun and the Dervish is pretty much my perfect profession after Ranger.
I would never delete my Ritualist. why? Decided to try the profession out and it turns out to be really really fun. He is also my closest chance to getting a Dragonic Scythe *evil sneer*.

I would never delete my monk cause it has 600k on armor -.-"

Eh, don't really care. I delete my characters whenever I get bored of them.
Clarissa F
Ranger - My first character and still my favorite.
Sin - My second character. just too cute.
Mesmer - just to spite Izzy's nerfy ass. Plus, she's hawt and raises hell in pvp.
Other than that, I deleted a warrior that had three campaigns, 2 necros, an imbagon, a monk and an ele. It's nice to clean out the closet once in a while.
When Conan comes, however, it may all go away. It looks like that game got it all balanced right.

My mesmer I love her more than anything on my account. And going back through all the campaigns to get 14 15k sets would be painful...

Will never delete my ranger because he was my first character, even though I hate using him in PvE these days.
And I'll never delete my warrior because he's my main. He has 6 sets of elite armor, has completed every campaign and cleared every elite area, has hundreds of platinum worth of gear, and is just fun as hell to play.

Necro Quink
I would never delete my Necro, it's not my oldest character though. My oldest character is a warrior with just 1 title maxed (protector of tyria). My necro has been my favorite character since the day I created him. I put much effort in him to max 28 titles for now. I'm working on my treasure hunter title, lucky, festival, luxon savior, .. and many more for now.
I also would never delete my Monk . She's just too sexy.

RPGmaniac
I would never delete my ranger. It's my first character made way back in July of 2005. He's also the character I'm getting all my titles on and is currently at 12 maxed titles (has a rainbow phoenix, too). He also has one of my only sets of 15k armor as well as many, many bows. I've put most of my work into him and am still having fun with him.
billy brute
My monk, I spent 200k on caps sigs on him the other day + customized some shiny toys for him.
Ctb
I wouldn't say I'd "never" delete them. It's just a video game. I mean... if someone says "delete your character X or I'll shoot your wife" I'd delete any of them. I'd delete the whole game. I'd break into your house and delete YOUR characters.
But the one I'm least likely to delete to, say, make room for a new character is my warrior, just because I have the most stuff unlocked on him, so he's the go-to guy for a quick pick up game basically anywhere in Guild Wars.
I don't know, but you apparently have even more spare time to waste than those losers who do read them.

I would never delete my ele because i have bought him many books and his hall smells of rich mahogany
I pwnd U
I would never delete my warrior because he has 3 sets of 15k armor and is my title guy. I also would never delete my monk as he is normally my ticket into elite areas and other missions.
genofreek
I couldn't delete my derv, not after all the time I've spent getting her flippin' armor and filling up her HoM and grinding titles.
oracle.delphi
My ele. SHe has three elite armors, prot of all three, completed eotn, elite tryian skill hunter (and there ain't no way in HELL i am putting up with random boss spawn again :0) and over 4 mill xp in 7 months
But mainly it's cause she's my first char, she's the class i am most comfortable playing. she dies alot, but i love her
and she's pretty

I would never delete any of my hardworking PvE characters.
Main reason, that I've had a large history behind them and enjoyed playing the various classes. Though I'll try to make as less characters as possible when GW2 comes around
Three characters of mine have all at least 2 elite armor sets, a ton of skills unlocked, many titles and a load of heroes fully equipped. It would just be a shame to wipe them off the face of Tyria.
Now those PvE's aside.. hehe..
I delete and remake my pvp character quite a lot ^^"

I'd never delete my ranger.
She has achieved "God walking amongst mere mortals" last december and is currently working in her wisdom and party animal title.
She is my oldest character (32 months) and I still enjoy playing ranger every time I play GW.
She's also became more active in HA again and won the Hall of Heroes a couple of times recently.

My Male monk cos he is the first char i ever made, and my war since she has god walking amongst mere mortals....
Malice Black
But this is GW....
Max level can be reached in hours. You can farm enough to make FoW armour in under a week now.
The carebear system means everything is available to everyone, no matter how bad you are.
Characters/items mean RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO all.
Deleting my shit is EVE is another matter, because that took 3 years of mining/pirating/trading and a lot borrowing to create.

I would never delete my ranger because if by some chance someone stole my name, i'd have to track and assassinate them.
Johnny_Chang
ele, monk, ranger, assassin, paragon, mesmer... cuz each have fow and high end customized weapons.
Bryant Again
So this is "never delete your favorite character" and not class? Aight.
Well I'd never delete my Warrior because I don't want to have to play through everything all over again just to get back to where I was.

My warrior cause I play him the most and have had him since I started playing, has multiple Elite sets and a ton of titles.

and for me, i wouldnt delete my ranger, my warrior, my dervish, or my ele. too much time spent on them to give them up.
