Hi...i'm ready to share some secrets

I've been playing for a while now, and i think its time to pass on a couple little secrets i have learned that are NOT commonly known.

secret 1: start at the spawn point closest to the door, every time.

ok this one is simple. if you are a farmer, FFF, or chestrunner, you know the importance of speed. how nice would it be to start at the spawn point closest to the door, every time? imagine how much time you would save while raptor farming, doing HFFF, or chestrunning?

step 1: start in the town you wish to do multiple runs of whatever from.
step 2: walk out the door, walk back in, and walk out again.
step 3: do whatever it is you are doing in that zone, and resign. (dont map)
step 4: after you resigned, you will start at the spawn point closest to that door EVERY time, until you change towns or visit guild hall. if you do so, you need to start step 1 again. simple enough, yes?

secret 2: powerlevel yourself from lvl 1-10 (or to 15) in record time, survivor friendly

have you ever purchased a powerleveller? bad mistake. it's so easy to do yourself. ok...you have a lvl 1 character. maybe you are going for survivor...maybe you just want to get to lvl 20 in under 2 hours. whatever the case, this is for you.

step 1: ok the easiest way to do this is start in nightfall. create character, do the first little mission, and get to kamadan.
step 2: buy a ferry to consolate docks, and another to LA. will usually cost 500g each or less.
step 3: add 5 henchies, and run yourself to the closest mission town, D'Alessio seaboard. (if you are survivor, just flag them in front and hang back. they will dispatch fire imps easily)
step 4: zone yourself, solo, to an EMPTY district in D'Alessio. polish district does well. run to the gate, where NPC lightning eles are killing some undead ghouls.
step 5: gain exp from the ghouls (the first batch comes all at once, try to make them go near you so you gain exp from them)
step 6: after wave one, find another empty district and repeat. the ghouls are lvl 11, so you will get to lvl 10 very fast (only the first wave will give you exp. after that, you must rezone)

once you are lvl 10, the next fastest way to powerlevel yourself is to go to gunnars hold (a very simple path to solo; getting to EOTN is soo easy...take henchies and make them kill stuff). before doing this you may want to purchase max armor @ consolate docks if you are survivor. Just take the dwarven boxing quest, punch dwarves for lvl 20 using rampage scrolls.

I got level 20, with a secondary, max armor, with survivor lvl 1 title, standing in HoM in 1 hour, 48 minutes. and i didnt really even rush it.

enjoy

Didn't you know? Everyone on GWG is god's gift to the world and your intellect is but a drop of water upon their glowing, godly locks. You should be drawn and quartered just for daring to bring yourself before these admirable examples of human evolution without immediately prostrating yourself in their glorious presence. My god, didn't you notice the rippling power in their primary wrists from their years of slaving over a hot mouse and reading 4chan boards?

Ignore the losers. I'd wager most players actually don't know about these things. I didn't know about the spawn point trick.

I have not timed it to lvl 10, but my choice for rushing a survivor character to eotn is to play NF until you get the quest to get Dunkoro (where you have to kill all the skree in the quarry). Once you have the quest, enter into this quest solo. There are a couple mobs to avoid on the way to Dunk, but once there you get a healer and 4 (I think, has been a while since I've done it) warrior npc's to complete the quest.

The cool thing is they follow you all over the map not just to the quarry and you get xp as if you were soloing. One good tour of the area will net tons of XP for a low level as there are many lvl 6+ mobs and even some lvl 13 rinkals to kill off. Doing the initial quests and clearing this area with blessings should also put you very close to the 300 sunspear pts needed for the second set of 15 attribute points and level 10. The for the LS candidate it's time to head North and box some dwarf heads!

Where're only pulling the OP's leg....

I didn't know either.

Survivor is crap until they change it to actually make you play the game instead of XP farm.

Spawn point - Din't know, but I'll forget about it as soon as I shut GWG down so...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there only two spawn points in Lutgardis, both quite far from the portal, rendering this tactic basically useless for HFFF?

QFT...that annoys me greatly about Luts, though it's about a wash as running into the town is faster than the wait/delay of a few people resigning.

I thought everyone knew about the spawn by the door....well, except all the people I laughed at in Rata who'd zone in and pop a sugar to speed up the run through town. In all seriousness, if this post taught you the spawn trick, you need to thank the OP repeatedly...and slap your guildies for not telling you sooner : P

I had never heard of the D'Alessio trick...I guess I was always way above the point where I could earn XP from the ghouls while in town.

Nice info, and ignore the trolls!

I frequently read Guru posts but this is the first time I read about the spawn trick. Oh well. I was one of those people popping a bunny every time when farming Raptors. Doesn't bother me too much though.

Too bad, it doesn't work for Lutgardis.

Thanks for the post though.

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure plenty of players can use this information.

I knew about the exit/spawn, did not know about the ghouls, haven't tried going for survivor yet.

Ignore the trolls, they just wanna play *tough*, like they knew, 'cause of course they know everything, and that's why they even bothered looking in here.

I wish I had *Troll Muting* skill:
Elite Hex Spell (24 hrs.) Causes Troll Flaming foes to STFU for 1 full day. If a hexed Troll attempts to troll again, its posting skills are disabled for 3 days.

All new and potentially usefully to me, but I'm not exactly a fountain of knowledge on GW.

But, I've just spent over an hour trying to get a taxi from kamadan to Lion's Arch, no problems getting to Consulate Docks, I'd have been better playing and levelling up normally... I had to give up in the end....

I've just created 2 more characters (I have 8 already) and don't feel I'll be missing out racing through, but it seems easier said than done.

There are three spawn points in Lutgardis, and their distances actually vary by quite a bit. If you consistently get the closest spawn, you'd probably shave a good 2~3 seconds off of each run - accumulated over the thousands of runs you need to do, this adds up.

Sometimes getting to Gunnar's hold causes a whipe or two (those mandragors are a bitch), so that wouldn't be survivor for me. My level 10 would be targeted and killed off instantly.

But all my characters are level 20 so it's not even applicable to me anymore.

guess you haven't done that before because when you enter eotn between level 10 to 20, your character is buffed like you are a level 20. in my pursuit for survivor title (i failed many times already that I don't want to do it again in the next few weeks), I don't have a hard time running from eye of the north to gunnar's hold at level 10. you will only have to fight 1 group of mandragora and the rest, you just have to run. my last two characters I used in survivor only wear the basic armor set. both failed due to lag during brawling.

To the OP, thanks alot bro! Good stuff there.

I can share my own little secret. It might not even be a secret, but it is funny. Once. You can knock down the Champion of Baltazar in ToA.

In Temple of ages, make sure no one is near the Champion of Balthazar, preferably at the bottom of the hill. Walk up adjacent and to the left of the readable scroll by his altar and face the altar. Kneel so he appears. When he is standing, just kneel again, but before your knee touches the ground, use the back arrow to begin walking backwards. He falls flat on his arse and disappears. May take some practice.

I am lazy to try that out, but its gonna be real funny to see that happens. Nice stuff there
