Questing title! PLEASE
untouchable
I think they should put in a title for quests. Completeing all quests in a game=title. I think its stupid that they havn't done this considering they did it for missions. And in my opinion is would definatly make questing more enjoyable because its going towards a title. Good idea!?
Issac
Ya they should, it would be way better then the zrank one :S. It would make so much more sense.
And also this should be in the Sardelac Sanitarium section

old idea, suggested thousands of times, hopefully will happen, probably won't.
Something I want more then a questing title is to have ALL quests repeatable *however rewards not being repeatable* and must bee gained through some special NPC *maybe Glint's Avatar in Droks*after Titan Quests*, Togo in Tahnakai Temple, and Kormir's Avatar in Chantry of Secrets*. Of course, add side quests to the scrying pool as well.
Adding both ideas I /sign for, needed much more then the new separation of PvP and PvE skills

Though it's been suggested before, it's a title to be earned ~ even if time consuming to complete every one (exclude Pre, though)...

this titles wouild have been a 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x tiem better implemention, than this braindead junk of Zaishen-Title.
If anet really implemented now this new grind Title to have also a good reason to implement for future some more new items for the Chests, than this action was really retarded.
A Questing Title would have been at least a title, that requires some patience and knowledge of where to find all the quest givers and most especially it would have been no grind title, that can be bought !!! and would have no economical effect on the selling price of soem certain items >.>
But more important is, this title belogns to the most wished titles of all and it would be one of GW's most bet titles, because it would simple motivate people to do all the quests for it, especially.
Its an achievement title row, like vanguisher, protector ect.
Tyrian, Canthan, Elonian Adventurer / Legendary Adventurer and adding this Achievement Titles would finally improve the title list to a point, so that Players could reach GWAMM, mostly by making all achievement titles only, forcing not players anymore then to max any of the optional grind titles, like Drunkard, Sweettooth, Party Animal ect.
Protector/Guardian > 7
Vanguisher > 4
Skill Hunter > 4
Cartographer > 4
*Adventurer > 4
LB > 1
SS > 1
Survivor > 1
Asura > 1
Norn > 1

Dwarf > 1
Master of the North > 1 would make together

31 Titles that are all the Archievement Titles that you get by playing just the games Story and Content to all its Limits, which can can't buy all, except Skill Hunter, which is out of all the only Title Line, that is Money Grind. all other Titles require absolute 0 Money. All you must do for the rest only is playign the Story and killing lots of monsters to get Points.
Vanguisher rewards you even with mney, but as far not so much, as you give out by making Skill Hunter >.> which is typical for Anet, game has really shitloads of money sinks, but make naturally Vanguishing not so much rewarding, that you can deck with it the cost you will receive through working on Skill Hunter title, so that you end up when maxed both lines with +-0 Gold nearly ...
However, this belogns to sardelac, lets move it there

This has been suggested a hundred and one times. ANet sayd 'we are not planing it in near future' some months ago. But now we are in that near future, so we are now in a new term. This is one of the two must important 'to does' along with the Market issue.
Questing is the only thing left.
After adding this for all campaigns, probably Master of the North would be changed include also EotN quests.

would need to be something along the lines of getting so many quests done as opposed to every one because some are proffesion specfic/campain specific/and other limiting factors. I liked the zrank one let me sell my 100ish keys for 100 ectos : )
MithranArkanere
The profession specific and the campaign-only would be ignored. They are 'tutorial' quests, and some people may skip them, like when you leave pre-Searing.

Pre-searing would obviously be excluded from the required quests (As would any profession/location bound quests.

Although this is a "good" idea for a title..... why?
I mean, do you really need another title? Will you refuse to quest if there wasn't one?

Yup. That's what I've told.
- Only the quests all characters regardless of profession and campaign can do would count. (That would also eliminate the Profession change quests in the Crystal desert, since a character can have available 4..6 of them)
- In the case of repeatable quests, making them once would count, like with Missions and EotN Primary Quests. And next times won't.
- In the case of 'branched' quests, where one side may have more quests than the other, the surplus quests in the branch that has more won't count.

Master of the North would have to be changed to include the EotN secondary quests.
And then, by having Protector, Guardian, Vanguisher, Skill Hunter, Cartographer and Adventurer or a region, you could get a Master of that Region title.
And by having all 4 Masters, you'll have the Legendary master.
That would make... 3+3+1= 7 new titles instead of 4 new.
Ending up the things like this:
1 Maxed titles title.
28 Achievement titles:
3 Protector P,F,N
4 Guardian P,F,N,L
4 Vanguisher, P,F,N,L
4 Skill Hunter, P,F,N,L
4 Cartographer, P,F,N,L
4 Adventurer, P,F,N,L
5 Master, P,F,N,E,L
8 Plot grind titles
2 Faction (Kurzcik Luxon)
2 Promotion (Lightbringer, Susnpear)
4 Reputation (Asura, Norn, Vanguard, Dwarf)
13 Pure grind titles
3 Event-related (Drunk, Sweet, Party)
5 Reward-related (Lucky, Unlucky, Wisdom, Treasure, Zaishen)
5 PvP titles (Champion, Hero, Gladiator, Gamer, Commader)
2 Aberrant non-retry titles (Survivor, LDoA)
That with 28 non-grind titles, they only 2 more else would be needed to be able to get GWAMM without grind.

ok problem #1: how many quests are profession-specific, and how many other quests are trade-offs for that reason? What if I used one secondary profession for one trade-off, and another secondary for another trade-off? What about quests that aren't available for your character due to foreign status- wouldn't that make the title cheaper for foreigners that have obtained it? Every other title at least accounts for that. Tracking all the different possibilities would be a logistical nightmare.
and problem #2: How would you know which quests even counted, and which quests you have done, and which quests you still had to do? Imagine having to comb Tyria for the last of 300(assumption obviously) quests you haven't completed with nothing to tell you what it was other than an exclamation point over a random NPC's head.
I agree with the idea, but there are too many related issues that would take far too much time to implement.

For example, Prophecies common quests start from To Kyrta: Journey end (given by aidan).
A list would be made and each of them would be checked one by one, like Missions and EotN primary quests are.
Many Tutorial quests are optional, like most pre-Searing quests, and there are other things that are easier for native characters. Nightfall native characters can explore 0.8% more than foreigners, for example.
If only those that can be made by anyone count, then it thoesn't matter if you had more or less quests in your Tutorial areas, you still have to make the same than the rest, and can skip the tutorial quests to make only primary quests and common secondary quests.
2.- We know that quests are counted because you cannot retry them. And fro repetable quests, a counter would be added, like the Statures for Sorrow's Furnace, so you will only have to make them once (again). Aditionally, the Quest log qould be improved, showing:
- Tab 1: Current quests. All quests you have currently in progress/completed(ready to get reward) and failed.
- Tab 2: Finished quests. All quests completed which reads have been received by the character. Also repeatable quests that have been finished once.
- Tab 3: Known quests. All quests that have been acepted by any character of the account, regardless of them being finished, abandoned, in progress, failed or completed.
- Tab 4: Library. All books that have been completed once by the character. Ready to review.
- Tab 5:Cinematics. All cinamatics seen by the character, ready to replay.
ahem.

this is a good idea but would obviously be bug filled at first due to all the quests that are profession specific and continent specific.

/signed. I wonder what a title track be like for this. Tyrian Helper? Lulz Anyway there wouldnt be a problem. This would be EXACTLY like the cartogropher. Since many quests require a specific profession or a native character, ANET would make it possible to have MORE than 100% of quests done (like the Cartographer- more than 100% of ANY lands can be explored).

Also, there are many profession-specific and campaign-specific titles that some characters cannot do. I'm sure there's a way to work around that, but there probably would be a lot of bugs to start out with if this was implemented. Also, this is a pretty big thing, and Anet has almost outright said they don't care a whole lot about GW1 anymore.

I can't believe I'm doing this in a topic suggesting a new title, but... /Signed.
It seems like it would be a good way to encourage people to go back and actually play the game. Not just farm it so they can buy the items necessary for the title. I actually think I'd have a lot of fun maxing this, at least in the low end areas.
The only problem I could see is that some quests aren't given to foriegn characters, like the beginner area ones (Shing Jea namely, and also the Symon quests that give you the 55 wand.)

If primary and repeatable quests are excluded then I definitely think this title should be made. 3 of them. One for each campaign.

Besides, we don't need stupid experience points at level 20. Quests are basically pointless unless there was a title.
