Anet listened to us didn't they?

From what i've noticed, over the past years the majority of people have wanted a pvp and pve divide in terms of skills, and hey presto there we have it - A difference of skill effects in PVP and PVE.

Of course the usual reponse is either: "finally, bout time" or "no i didn't want this". But for me it gives me a sense of comfort knowing that Anet have considered our opinion faithfully.

I'm glad my voice is heard.

Do you feel that Anet listened to you (not matter the time it took, im speaking about the fact that they do pay attention)?

discuss

Please refrain from aggressive behaviour, squeeze a soft toy if you wish to vent some rage

In addition, please do not discuss what skills are going to change, or whether you think this is a good idea or not, merely speak about what is in the thread title

They listened to you, not me. I wouldn't shut up about how bad an idea it is.

Considering I mentioned the split in the forums a day before the announcement was made, I feel like my voice was heard

Better then never I say.

Or, put differently, they did not listen to those that said that PvE and PvP separation is good.

This was demonstrated with release of PvE-only skills.

It's just a glass hal-full/half-empty situation.

So, "yes" or "no"?

Why not make a poll then, it's more suitable, since discussion part seems undesired.

Because listen to the community is a bad idea, as was splitting the skills into two.

They listened to the whiney farmers, cause they have the loudest voice. They didnt listen to anyone who actually knew what they were talking about.

I'm honestly perplexed as to why people are anti the idea of the PvE/PvP skill split. It seems to me that for 2 years straight it is one of the major things players have always wanted.

Can someone please, in a non flammatory and factual way, explain how this will be bad for game play?

As for being listened to? Heck yeah, Anet listen. Look at everything that's been added to the game above and beyond the original client. Whether you like an addition or not is irrelevant.

Bigger gap for PvE to PvP and harder for some PvXers, everything in PvE will be buffed not nerfed...

I'm starting to think this update is kind of a bad idea; I would rather have more PvE-only skills [with similar effects to existing ones] than a slight number change in skills while in a PvP outpost. The biggest problem I have with it is that the same skill with the same icon will have slightly different numbers on it; a better idea would have been a completely new skill name and icon, as others have previously stated.

Furthermore, I like the idea that ArenaNet listens to the community; it has brought many good changes to the game in the past like more storage, PvP unlocks/J menu, and all of the traders which are in the game are only a few of the changes brought by the community's voice. However, like Plato I fear that if the masses become ignorant of a portion of the game, it may go in a bad direction.

Sorry but I still don't understand. PvE and PvP are two completely separate entities, so why should this be an issue?

genocide is a solution to world hunger too

Perhaps its the skeptic in me, but just cause they listened to us doesnt make it a good idea or the best way to implement it

ever been to sardelac? if they gave us everything we wanted there'd be duel pistol wielding pistol ritualists with signet of insta-death

But then again, its not a bad thing they listened to us

untill I see this in practise for a while, im not passing comment

All I have to say is:

If [skill]Prepared Shot[/skill], [skill]Dragon Slash[/skill], [skill]Invoke Lightning[/skill], [skill]Life Transfer[/skill] or [skill]Migraine[/skill] get major changes, it'll be a sad, sad day. Any changes on these elites would be mindbogglingly insane.

These were actually one of the best things for the game and should have been included with the original from the start.

I'm not sure how much of it is them listening to the community and how much of it is them waking up to the fact that PvE is paying the bill and they can't continue to bugger up PvE and expect to sell their next game. At any rate, I appreciate that they are at least attempting to fix what's been done to PvE in the name of PvP, and I'm hoping that their implementation comes out well. Now, if only I could get the to listen to me about removing that timer from soul reaping...

ANet always listens, I just wonder what they understand.

See how titles and pve skills turned out in the end, into tons of grinder titles and ursan blessing.

OK, some people wanted an easy mode, but I am sure many did not want PvE skills to be like that. The same for adding more and more titles.

And now let's see if the new pve/pvp separation we will experience on Thursday will turn out.

Right now we are in the Guinea Pig Wars phase...

a day late, a dollar short

they waited until the game, or at least the pvp part, is virutally dead

this should have come a long long time ago -- when it would have made a difference
