Anyone else...

I didn't lose any sleep nor shed any tears...I just read her posts and stayed the hell out of whatever district she was in...

I do miss Gaile's contribution to the community, but it's ok because now The Exploit is fixed.

I miss her, but maybe for different reasons than others.
I met Gaile in person not long after someone got angry and abused some resources in order to get a hold of her at ArenaNet and called to yell at her. I could spot her the moment I walked in, hustling around the room and chatting with people.
You would think someone who got called and yelled at would be angry as hell, but no, Gaile grinned, greeted us, and cheerfully led us to the bar, chatting with us the whole way. She was endlessly patient with some pretty odd people, she filled the WHOLE back of her vehicle with loot for the fans, and was generally a huge sweetheart about posing with us for pictures and answering questions. She didn't make fun of me for drunkenly putting cubes of grass on my head, either (curse you pomegranate martini that made me babble at devs, curse you).
She clearly loves the fans and loved her job, and I think that shows in her new role, too. Now she can work directly with the fans in the trenches in a more low profile, closer role to the people that need it rather than trying to make EVERYONE happy.
Whenever I saw her posts, I thought that it's got to be hard to walk that line, and if anything, sometimes I think she was too good to the fans, some of which really didn't deserve one bit of kindness, yet she was pretty nice to the majority of people anyway. She did what she could to walk the fine line between giving us information and keeping secrets. If anything, Gaile's flaw is that she loves the fans too much. In the scheme of things, that's not a bad flaw in my eyes, but some who don't have to work with customers probably don't get that. I think we we're quite fortunate to have someone willing to talk to us. She takes the things we suggest back to the devs, and just because they don't do everything the fans/players say, it doesn't mean that she screwed up. She probably spent too much time with the fans and set a precident of "waah Gaile help us!" and then people get hacked off when she didn't have time to deal with everything. Her approach worked great, but it wasn't scalable. The more players there were, the harder it was to keep up.
So yes, I miss Gaile. I hope that I might get a chance to see her in person again one of these days, maybe bring her cookies for putting up with so much crap. .

Nonetheless, Gaile is gone and time is moving forward. Sooner or later, we'll be bidding farewell to the point in time and space that was Guild Wars #1.

My favorite Gaile moment was when she rampaged against the forums and threatened to quit. That didn't last long.

Everything, EVERYTHING, is your own perception. Just because others join the bandwagon doesn't make that perception right - it's simply peer pressure.

No. Jerks do NOT have a right. Being a jerk only drives Customer Service Reps to despising and rejecting you more. Can't you see the vicious circle here? It all starts with your attitude.
No human being has to put up with a jerk, in any walk of life. Quit putting your smug arrogance of blame on someone else.

It's capitalism, not morality.

There's no getting through in an argument when someone's stuck in their little spiral of smugness. So, you win.
Take your hollow victories and enjoy how they destroy good people and good business models. Who wants to work in service of jerks anyway.

Lets see.....no.
Nothing personal, as I wouldn't miss anyone from here, or the game.

Didn't really know her. Never saw her or met her in game. Had fun at her going away party tho.

I miss her a lot.
most people dont realise how much work she did. and i wish all the pvp wh*res would stop dissing her, thats what andrew was for.
for your info she posted on every english speaking fansite and gave fansite support, updated the fansite rosters, gave us updates and answered questions, handled exploits, not to mention doing the job support never could. hell she got me unbanned when I was mistaken for some kind of duper or something. Im sure regina is great but im not sure it would be right to expect her to show the same devotion Gaile did with 70+ hours a week at work.

Yeah, this post is full of flaming and insults so we'll close it. I think the OP got the general view as well as some responses.
