Things that attract my attention now a-days are really high ranks in Hero, Legendary Vanquisher, and LDoA. And the occasional high ranked Gladiator. |
the most prestigious title?

hero, champion and gladiator...
Just cause u have to be skilled for get a high rank on them.
PvE titles = how many time u have to waste in gw?

Having created a ritualist to make my survivor, I realised that, like myself, other people must look at titles and think "eeew" or "hmm, that guy must be good".
Which titles do you think are the most acknowledged on GW, apart from r5+ koabd?
I'd say legendary vanquisher is quite credited. Mostly the longer titles tbh; if your character name is short and your title is long, you usually get a lot of attention. :P

I think anyone with 100% cartographer is pretty good. Same with r5+ glad.
Dr Strangelove
I only care about very high glad and champion titles. Everything else is meh.
Seef II
PvE? Norn rank. r10 Ursan LFG.
PvP is champion without a doubt.

I'm not into titles much personally
By the way, i believe there was already a huge thread on this wasn't there?(I.e. What do you think is the most accomplishment/title)

On topic, I do have to say I really enjoy seeing others with a high Gladiator rank. Now to grind out rank 6 Gladiator ><
Ben-A-BoO
Champions, r6+ gladiators and r12 heroes.
The rest does not impress me.
EDIT: Mourne, hahaha sorry dude ... but be sure you'll get mad respect once you hit r6 glad

I'd say the 100% explorer titles are the only titles I see other people go "Wow!" over in towns when they see somebody else with them. Probably because they require no extra reading to understand what they mean (yeah yeah, there are some new people out there still, maybe they're just easily impressed, who knows, but that's how I see it) and that a statistic in a percentage looks more impressive than some number in a bracket that could mean anything.
If you were to ask me what impresses me or earns a bit of respect from me would be seeing somebody who actually maxed out the Kurzick or Luxon titles (it takes quite a bit of time and devotion for that no matter which way you do it), and then the Gamer title track (what, one of the only more or less untainted/honest titles there is?)

r5/6 koabd due to sheer amount of time/money involved.
r3+ champ because it means they're probably not terribad at guild wars.
yes, that means i don't acknowledge any of my own titles.

To tell you the truth, I think a vast majority of titles is devalued due to... Hmmm... Exploits? Taking the easy way out? Would that be a good word for it? Maybe. Anyhow, let's take survivor as an example - you know that it's possible to obtain it through wurm killing in Ice Cliff Chasms and Killroy's Punchout Extravaganza quest little danger to your characters life. You know people are doing it, most people assume everyone does it and the title becomes "meh, everyone's taking the easy route". Same goes for vanquishing - people will assume you UB'ed it.
Myself, I tend to max titles for me, not for showing off. My necro got her Legendary Survivor beating all three campaigns and capping elites. It was great fun and I've had a couple of close calls even though I knew what I was up against and came prepared. I tend to hide my smell GH title while in outposts and display Protector of Tyria instead.

I respect cartographer, and explorer in pve. If i see connosser of confection etc, or any of the buyable titles, I think wow... I wish I had that much money, no real respect for it though.
PVP titles, I dont respect HA titles, because I have played with some r12 people who were horrible, and because of rank discrimination. Glad I respect because its hardish to get and takes time and skill. Champ I respect when I see, but its really rare, and commander to me is a waste of pvp. R12 Luxon I semi respect because its harder to FFF & cant really be HFF'd. R12 Kurz is usually HFF'd all the way.

I have done a ton of stuff in Guild Wars, and I think I respect any title that I see on someone else that I am not willing to do a 2nd time.
Purchased titles of max rank annoy me more than anything. I like things like legendary vanquisher and guardian.

champion only one left i guess

Champ of course.
Hero and Glad titles can be farmed with no skill gimmicks, so while a G8-R12+ title probably means that they are a skilled and committed player to the game, you never know if it's just someone who mashed a lot of buttons every night for a long time. To be fair though, at that level (5000+ glads, 20,000+ fame) I'd expect you'd go crazy playing the same gimmick build every night. I have a measly 600 glads and get tired playing the same build for more than a few nights.
PvE maxd Vanquisher I suppose, but having never vanquished an area I have no idea how hard it is.

any and all titles impress me ^^
naturally God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals is the best, but otherwise I'm not that updated on which titles are better than others ^.^'
I find people who have titles which match their name, character "personality" and/or proffession, are the best. Such as Sweet Tooth for Assassins :3 /personal opinion

Edit: Titles that impress me are the ones i dont have. This will mean someone has spent more money, or done something more than me. Which isnt all that hard.
Valaric
People are always going to disagree with the whole "pvp titles better than pve and vice versa". We all have our own titles we think are good and the ones you not interested in. But dont matter if you need skill, luck or money for titles they are still a grind, and alot of them, if you not going to buy them take time to get.

Titles that takes alot of cash and time impress me. Ofc its not impressing for Ebayers etc but ppl i know that have worked for max wisdom etc. Like Seriously how many ppl you know that got Maxed wisdom without buying even single unid?
Nemesis of God
Maxed zaishen (IMO), champion any rank, Gladiator R3+, GWAMM and LDoA.

R6 God Walking and Source of Wisdom (it looks too cool...)

Unfortunatly the "prestige" as far as PVE titles is all but gone. They can all be bought or ground out with time.
Originally I would have said legendary vanquisher, as this did require skill, before con sets and Ursan. I am not trying to spark a debate on this, just giving MY opinion.
So, maybe maxed hero, that only a handful of people have, but even that is less "impressive" with time.

Having People Know Me with all three Protector titles.
That, in my opinion, is the crossroad between being good and being great.

Legendary master of the north.
The one title i said i would never get but ended up getting it anyway. I did everything with my hubby and our heroes except for duncan HM which we did with a non ursan pug.
Now i just need 7 more title for max rank KoBD

Elusive of SoLD
LDoA I would say is one of the hardest to get on many fronts and impresses me the most.
Destroying Rotscale HM before 'everyone who reads how to' could was also a nice achievement of mine, now i dont think legend vanquisher holds too much weight as it once did with sabway also.

I think when I get maxed wisdom title, it would be on all my character simultaneously, because they identify their own gold item and are at same level now. 250+ identify. +-
When I get Legendary Grandmaster Cartogrpher (tyria) on my Ele WITHOUT TEXMOD I am going to throw a party! She's at 99.7% atm
lol, I just realised that was all off topic.
Something sticking to the topic, if you play your game and enjoy it, all the titles should mean something to you, yourself, I don't think any one of them is more prestigious then the next one because I spend lots of time getting them WITHOUT short cuts. So yes all the title when I get them are prestigious to me and no one else.
