Me, too; out near Seattle, WA (west coast, USA) and I've had skills not activating quickly and stuff kind of jumping around. Also not touching my survivor char.

From what I hear everyone on every server had massive lag, I had several error 7s right at the end of a vanquish, was pissing me off, there was also a point were I stood still for 6 minutes and then dced.
Sakura Az
been lagging for a few days now.. was doing an UW HM clear and had 5/8 people DC, one didn't reconnect at all.
was fighting the NPC's in HA this evning and our entire team froze for about 30 seconds, ruined our moral boost attempt>.< course next match was vs rawr so we got rolled anyways.

In the last week I had 2-3 disconnects and bad pings. For several months before that last week, I had none and good pings. I got DSL 6000, maybe that has something to do with that.
caeleth
Was the same for me and most of the guild as well :/
RedStar
My ping never varied due to anything , it's always been the same (well except the few lag spikes I get when I use firefox + GW + skype + iTune + Msn ).
But then again it's high lol (700-800).

Been getting lag off and on for the last few days, guild is as well.
What came to mind is that Anet is changing the skills for PvP - PvE, maybe streaming stuff in. And who knows what else the update will bring.

I'm getting big lag spikes in ab....
Ebony Shadowheart
I had issues with lag yesterday as well. AB, PvE....didn't seem to matter what I was doing. I'd go from a 100 ms ping to 25k ms ping on and off all day. I wasn't the only one though. I was on vent with a few of my allies and they were complaining of the same issue. Luckily I was only dc'ed 2 or 3 times and managed to reconnect each time. I guess I'm lucky in that respect.
LeoX
Got some ping today, and disconnected too.
Hyper.nl
I got several disconnects yesterday. If it happened I could reconnect instantly but I often found my toon to be axed by the Luxons.
Nightmares Hammer
No lag for me.
Hollow Gein
Well, It's good to know it wasn't just me yesterday. Bad lag, rubber-banding, 007's...at least it wasn't a hacking attempt.
slowerpoke
weekend event is gonna be real fun if this isnt fixed
English Warrior
why is there so much lag im dc'ing every 10 mins.
-rightuos-
yea yesterday was ugly, no problems for me today though.
Kemal X
One fella in our guild has these problems aswell, but so far nothing for me.. James Bond on the loose?
malevolence
yesterday, huh, I was playing HB and got a massive spike lag .... I needed to shutdown GW because it was unplayable.

We have been getting massive lag spikes and group disconnects in FoW and Urgoz.
Nude Nira
Yay! It's not just me. I was fine last night, but earlier in the day I got err7's +disconects about every 30 seconds, sometimes i'd err 7, log back in and err7 before i even loaded. -_-

PM sent last thing yesterday, received this from Regina (she responded fairly quickly) -
The lag hasn't been as bad today, but I've still had a few rubberbands and pings around 5000. Hopefully whatever it is will be sorted for the weekend.

Hi Yol: I've checked up on this with the person responsible for managing all aspects of the live servers, and right now he is not aware of any activity, that would be causing this. We are based in Europe and America. Any info would be much appreciated. Yol __________________ Regina Buenaobra Community Manager ArenaNet, Inc. |

Ok that's another bs answer. Why does she need to "check up on this" at all. It's not that only a selected few have serious lag, it was world-wide and you could see people dropping everywhere.
And activity that causes it? As RM she should know if something like a major update is in the making and some minor server work would not cause days of horrible lag.
I would have prefered an answer like "Yes, we are aware of the timeouts people experience and are working on it". Short simple and good. Her answer did not tell us anything about the reasons for the lag and more important when it will end.

150g per minute, 180 for lvl5 lag. Might give you some % off if you buy a big packet.

To put it another way, it'd be like blaming an online store for the delay in your package caused by shipping problems in the postal service. (If you chose to have it shipped by USPS, particularly.) The store only has control over when they get the package out to the post office. After that, it's out of their hands.
I say this because it's happened before. It happens in many different places at differing times. You can see when it's occurring on a large scale, at times, on the Internet Health Report, and may be able to detect it on a small scale by reports from many people on a traceroute.
Depending on where the hop having problems is, it can selectively knock out a few people consistently, or many people, usually depending on its proximity to the target, I think.
</Is not all that tech savvy, so someone else can probably explain it better/correctly>
Mystica
Yes but even it is something that affects the server performance without Anet doing anything (there can be dozens of reasons like network problems, overall connection etc) I would prefer to hear that they are on it or at least a reason for it.
Taking your store example, it is not out of their hand. Usually if a packet's arrival is overdue you contact the store and they trace the shipment by contacting the postal service. They will gather the information and tell you an estimated time of arrival for your packet. You will still get it late but you will have the feeling that something was done, know when you will get your packet and most of the time you will get an explanation as for why your packet arrives late.
It would have been nice to get some feedback that is actually including anything helpful instead of 1 sentence without any information.
You can sum up the whole process:
Players asks Regina: "Hey Regina, a lot of players experience immense lag and timeouts. Is there anything you can tell us about it?"
Regina asks Server guy: "Hey Server Guy, a lot of players experience immense lag and timeout. Any idea why?"
Server Guy: "No clue"
Regina responds to Player: "Server guy has no clue"
That's just not enough. I do not blame them for the lags. Just for the lack of communication and interest they show. Nothing against Regina, I know that she can only deliver what they tell her. If that is really all the "Server Guy" told her the major communication lack is Anet intern.

Yes, the servers are acting up, indeedy.

Your resident skeptic says: You do realize there's thousands of miles of cables and hundreds of nodes and ISPs between your computer and Anet's servers, right?
There could be a node malfunctioning ANYWHERE in the world. This has happened before, and made the community look like prats for screaming blue murder at Anet, before it was discovered a major node routing into the US from all over the world had gone down.
A natural disaster could have affected a link somewhere. We've had 2 in 2 weeks, and it's Tornado season.
Before you're quick to blame, think outside the Anet servers. If they say all is functioning properly, they won't be BSing for sh*ts n giggles.

would have been nice if she had come on this forum and written that---having to have a personal pm to get an answer is ......lacking.

I have been monitoring this throughout the day and contacting various departments to check up on this issue. The people at the data center report no issues that could be causing lag. If you are experiencing lag, please contact customer support so they can gather data and get results from their diagnostic tools.
