The BEST Healing Build in GW; E/Mo ER Infuse Healer
Trinity Fire Angel
This would have to be currently the most powerful PVE healing build in the game. Based on some old ideas and centered around Ether Renwal, this build is able to constantly maintain around ~430Hp heals and can heal itself for around 350Hp after every infuse. As well as this, Heal Party can be spammed every 2 seconds without energy concerns.
[build=OgNTw4G/mhkgR+ifkQCtoWI9B]
Optional skills; Swap Life Attunement instead of Vital Blessing for less heals, but more healing done to yourself after infuse.
Equipment
* All Survival Insignias, All Vitae Runes and Sup Vigour
* +5e, 20% Enchant Spear (Spirit of the Forgotten)
* +12e, +30hp Energy Req. Offhand, 10% HRS (Mallyx's Perpetuity)
Usage
At the start, precast Vital Blessing and Aura of Restoration. Before Battle, cast Glyph of Swiftness followed by Ether Renewal. Spam Heal Party whenever you can and infuse low health targets. You can basically infuse anyone you want and immediatly cast Heal Area or Kareis Healing Circle. After every infuse you should cast a healing circle to give you back nearly full health again.
Beware of casting heal party when members of the party are in risk of needing an infuse as the 2sec casting time on heal party might make you miss an important infuse.
With this setup you should be at around 750Hp, so you will be nearly constantly infusing for 450-500Hp as well as healing your backline with Healing Circle and Heal Party.
With Glyph of Swiftness, you should be able to maintain Ether Renewal nearly 100% of the time.
Counters
Rends, Enchantment Removal and Energy Denial. Losing Ether Renewal is not good. Make sure you cover Ether Renewal with Aura of Restoration each time you cast.
Variants
There is a defensive variant to this build that uses higher Protection Prayers and less healing circles. This protection variant can use Prot Spirit and Spirit Bond and any other high energy, fast cast protection spell for constant defense and the occasional infuse.
Notes
Be sure to throw off an infuse early in the battle to trigger hero AI to cast things like Prot Spirit or Death Nova on to you to give you even more enchantments. If you cast a maintained enchantment onto another character, i do not beleive that Ether Renewal actually picks up that enchantment for energy regain.

Very nice. Can heroes use this bar well?

How? Ether Renewal only lasts 7 seconds, and Glyph of Swiftness will only decrease Ether Renewal's recharge time to 22.5 seconds. Am I missing something here?

BBcode updates? It's 20 seconds now in PvE.

yes, go read the latest skill update on the homepage.
itsvictor
Tidus, the code didn't update. Otherwise it's supposed to be a 20 second'ish duration.
I also still don't like the build because prots>redbarring.

its only 7 secs right now in PVP just tried
Sir Tidus
Oh I see, if you use a minor energy storage rune on the head gear, then you can keep Ether Renewal for 19/22.5 seconds.

This build will not work if enemies get close to you, because you'll be healing them.
Owik Gall
This is just my thought and opinion. The healing from this build looks awesome, but I'm a bit agitated at the healing area spells. Technically your enemies could get healed too and in some places that's a bad thing. With those two spells I can see why this is preferred to be a PvE build as they would be annoying in PvP. The two spells would practically even out the field. The protective variants for this build are good, but there are some good healing spell variants that would work well, too. If the healing area spells are beginning to be a bother then at least one can be switched with Healing Ribbon, Heal Other, Healing Breeze, or maybe even Healing Seed. They might not be as effective as an AoE healing, but they are variants from the annoyance of healing enemies as a side effect, but Healing Ribbon seems close enough. One more thing, where's the rez? I understand that in some places it doesn't matter, but for others it helps to bring one, especially in missions.
Trinity Fire Angel
The AoE Healing doesn;t come into effect unless the group gets overrun by frontliners. In that case, it doesn;t really hurt to occasionally heal the enemy while you are pounding on their squishies at the back. Otherwise, you just don;t use the circle when they are near you. With around 750Hp, and with an Ele/X profession the monster AI rarely targets you, so it;s a pretty cruisy day for you.
Edit: oh, 150hp heal to enemy monsters is not much at all. you are healing your team with infuse and 150hp isn;t much at all. altho, those Charr Shamen use Infuse and Heal Area to great effect i notice.
12+1+1 Energy = 19sec + 20% +25% faster recharge = 22.8 + 5.7 = 28.5 out of 30sec recharge with a 10% HCS chance. Yuo could also swap to a 20%enchant, 40HSR set when you cast (if you can make them?) Ether Renewal and then keep a +60HP Sword and Shield set for even higher health.
I chose the healing circles as my self heal rather than party heal and the Infuse is more than enuff to heal the whole party. I think i encountered maybe 5 times out of 7hours of vanquishing that i healed the enemy with the circle.
No Rez??? Sorry, my philosophy is that Monks don;t rez. hard Rez skills are purely for Midliners and soft rez for frontliners. As a monk, your job is to keep the team alive and cannot risk a death because you are out of action for 4-6 seconds. Keeping Flesh of My Flesh or Death Pact on Midline Ele or Mesmers is a much better method. Even a Rez chant on a fast cast mesmer. Rez sigs on Warriors etc etc.
Finally, i like Heal Party, but the 2 sec cast time is rather annoying... maybe [patient spirit] or [shield guardian] would be better here....? Ideas anyone?

I really liked the idea of a build like this, although a prot version of it. Something like this:
[build prof=E/Mo Energy Storage=12+1+1 Protection=12][Reversal of Fortune][Shield of Absorption][Mend Condition][Shield Guardian][Protective Spirit][Aura of Restoration][Ether Renewal][Glyph of Swiftness][/build]
Glyph->Ether->Aura->Prot Spirit-> Spam away.

Infuse doesn't work. ER heals you BEFORE Infuse takes half your health. I just tried it. Energy wise, ER is amazing, but the healing side of it wont let you spam Infuse to all hell.

Anyways, I'd prefer to just avoid trying to go pure heal or pure prot as it's hard to find skills that are actualy effective, yet still abuse ER's imbaness.
therefore, hybrid:
[build name="renewal healer" prof=E/mo healingprayers=10 protectionprayers=9 energystorage=11+1+1 airmagic=4][heal other][convert hexes][heal party][prot spirit][aegis][glyph of swiftness][ether renewal][aura of restoration][/build]
13 is the breakpoint for 4 energy return on ER, meaning you can split 11-10-10 with ES minor rune+head piece and maximum return for your prot/heal investments. The skill choices are clearly still up for discussion, but these are the most useful ones I could think to fit in a bar, most of them actualy justifying their spots and not just being added because they're expensive.

[ether renewal] promotes spamming
u cant really spam [infuse health]
its more of a timing thing
not to mention half ur bar is dedicated to self-heal (key word: "self")
i dun see wuts wrong wit back to back [heal other] + [jamei's gaze]?

Usually i'd say energy pool Ele/Mo healers suck the big one compared to primary monks. But this looks pretty good considering it revolves around the e-management provided by Ether Renewal. So the big and obvious question i have, is it worth kitting out Vekk to go Ele/Mo and cast Dunkoro to the side?
IE - Does the build or the concept for it work well on a Hero?

IE - Does the build or the concept for it work well on a Hero? heroes dun kno how to use glyphs properly
would need to micro
infinite energy healers arent anything new
n/rt does teh job well
especially on a hero since it doesnt involve any advanced tricks
other than relying on natural energy gain from soul reaping

not to mention half ur bar is dedicated to self-heal (key word: "self") umm... if you read, the process is,
[Infuse] -> [Heal Area] -> [Infuse] -> [Karei's Healing Circle] -> [Infuse] -> [Aura of restoration] -> [Heal Area] .... Rinse and repeat.
So i can really infuse every 1/4sec + 1 sec = 1 & 1/4 sec = 450hp heals every second.
**** one heal area gives about 300Hp. Return. (150hp + the rest). ie. 750Hp, lose half health -> 375Hp + 300Hp heal -> 675Hp. If you throw in an [Aura of restoration] then you can keep your health at +700hp most of the time.
Spam [Heal Party] .... spam spam spam...
To make a small point, i ran this in HM vanquish with myself as healer and dunky as prot and we had no troubles in the team. put simply, my energy management is better and i only need to heal people when they get to half or less than health. at one point we got hit by 3 MS's and i was able to infuse like 4 people in a row in less than 10 secs.
i think heal other might be good too, rather than using infuse as the only heal... it might be a little more relaxing.

I was trying this out.
[Heal Other][Jamei's Gaze][Healing Breeze][Heal Party][Life Attunement][Aura of Restoration][Ether Renewal][Glyph of Swiftness]
Energy Storage : 12+1+2
Healing Prayers : 12
Protection Prayers : 3
I putted life attunement there so you will be healing yourself constantly for about 121/145hp eatch time youre healing other players.
Healing Breeze? Well giving party members +8 regen at the cost of nothing is pretty good imo.

Relying on infuse in order to heal doesn't seem that efficient to me, because if any melee start hitting you, ur not only healing them w/ heal area but ur external heals are less efficient.

Here's my 2 version of the healingmentalist
Healing version
Infuse
Vigorous spirit (maintain on all party) and you for an additional +20 hp +4 E
Heal party
Zealot's fire (for damage because you will spam)
Holy veil (you can maintain it on the whole party)
Aura of restoration
Ether renewal
Glyph of swiftness
Now the prot version
Spirit bond
Shield guardian
Reversal of fortune
Zealot's fire
Holy veil or vital blessing
aura of restoration
Ether renewal
Glyph of swiftness
Pretty much the best 2 monk u can have on a team.

If we're going to talk about an Infusion spammer, here's something I just tested:
[build=Infusion Spammer;OgNEgBvt+6QSOI0jQi/gWULk+A]
With all the enchantments up, a Superior Energy Storage rune, and no +HP items, my health was 602, and I "stabilized" at 243 while spamming Infuse, with each casting healing the target for 300. To regain health, all I had to do was refresh Aura of Restoration and Vigorous Spirit - each casting healed me for 166 (ER) + 28/55 (Aura) + 21 (spirit) after Life Attunement. At 15 Energy Storage, Glyph + Renewal + 20% enchanting let me maintain Renewal permanently. Enchantment removal and hexes would obviously hurt (daze + 1/4 cast = 1/2 cast? Ha!), but for pure healing - spammable, 1/4 cast, no recharge 300 HP heal - this can't be beat.

I tried that as well heal area with infuse on monk though no an ele just for fun.It would better for ele to help protect and this why Monks have to take res.

Or if your bored and want something wacky and new try this.
[no skill][great dwarf weapon][great dwarf armor][mindbender][zealots fire][aura of restoration][ether renewal][glyph of swiftness]
optional slot can then be anything from:
[[shield guardian]
[[spirit bond]
[[mend condition]
[[healing whisper]
Att split isn't so bad with pve skills. and spamming the dwarf weapon alone is good enough.

Necroes DO NOT have infinite energy. They get energy when things die and even then after the SF nerf the energy you gain is limited. Ether Renewal's conditional use is easily met. You don't even have to bring your own enchants but it's probably recommended even though enchants are plentiful among other classes too.
A Necro CANNOT spam heal party on recharge over and over and over at will. Eventually you're spamming needs to stop so you can wait for the next kill to come along and give you the energy boost you need. (not that spamming is good or needed but you get the point)
Heck at this point right now I think even a E/Rt is better then N/Rt. (except the N/Rt has access to an elite) Heck I was in a PuG group last night and I ran the E/Mo healer alongside a HB Monk. To my surprise he didn't do very much throughout the mission because my Ele covered all the healing needed and when the monk was finally needed he quickly found himself gasping for energy. I on the other hand was spamming heals like no tomorrow and kept myself above 80e the whole time. Probably could've solo healed the group but naturally it was a PuG group and everyone was reluctant at first to even give me a chance. =p
I would like to end this post with a prediction. Seeing as how prevalent Elitists and Care Bears are in this here forum. I predict someone is gonna cry because ER is now overpowered and/or Monks are gonna find something to complain about in regards to ER. Bring it on!

I wish I saw this thread before I spent 5k buying the skills for my ER healing build. I didn't know this was common knowledge and now, Anet will probably nerf ER for PVE. 5k down the drain. Q_Q

[skill]Infuse Health[/skill][skill]Heal Other[/skill][skill]Jamei's Gaze[/skill][skill]Vigorous Spirit[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Life Attunement[/skill][skill]Ether Renewal[/skill]
Mostly spam Heal Other and Jamei's Gaze, both of which heal target other ally for 151 HP as well as give me 2 energy in return plus heal me for around 100 HP every time I use one of these two spells on others. VS to gain 7 energy, mostly as soon as ER recharges to get my energy back up to max. Infuse Health for when HO and JG are recharging or need to quickly heal a near dead ally.
Anet, please don't nerf ER. ER isn't that useful for healing. It lacks... um... yeah, you get no benefits from Divine. And only 12 points into Healing? Puh! Useless! And E's don't even look like healers. Everybody knows that Mo's have to have some bald spots. PLUS, if a monster strips my ER, it makes me USELESS. And... there are a LOT of enemies that strip enchants in PVE. A LOT. ZOMG, they're everywhere! (runs) Move along, Anet. Nothing to see here. Seriously, go away. I'm poor and can't afford to waste 5k to use a build for a few days. Q_Q

WTB Better AI for heroes to use this.
It's a nice alternative when you don't have to worry about enchant removal or corpses.

Yes, E.Renewal+GoS+AoR gives you infinite energy, but it also takes 3 skill slots, including your elite slot. While we're seeing some builds that beat monk primaries in efficient red-bars-go-up, we haven't been seeing builds that have the robustness of responsive spot healing + party healing + prot + hex removal + condition removal + bar topping that you can find in a good monk bar. Unless someone comes up with something better than we've seen so far, E/Mo can compete with Mo/X (or N/Rt) for one position in a 2-man backline, but it's pretty far from being the sort of out-and-out superior build that pushes monks out of business.

A couple of E/Mo Prot builds were posted in this thread. The point is "Etheral Renewal" now looks really really sexy and you don't have to be just /Mo.

On the Prot bars, I'd put in Prot Spirit AND Spirit Bond tbh, no reason not to bring both for best prots.

You can probably do a little better with this...
[build prof=e/mo ene=10+1+1 heal=10 pro=10 air=5][dwayna's kiss][heal party][cure hex][extinguish][aegis][aor][ether renewal][glyph of swiftness][/build]
Some cheaper spells to make up for 1 less constant enchantment (though since you aren't losing 1 point of regen, it's not as big a deal), and 5 points in air gets you 2 spells on GoS, so if you can manage to get Ether Renewal and Aegis on it, you're in great shape.
This you could probably throw on a Hero without too much of a problem. 76 E + items, and Heroes are good at spamming spells. You have hex removal and condition removal, a good prot, an 2 heals that you'll rarely be unable to cast one or the other with. Aura of Restoration and Ether Renewal keep you healed, so the lack of a self-heal isn't an issue.

I just tried a variation of the OP's Ether Infuser tonight partly because I don't like the "heal area" type spells. On paper it doesn't look all too appealing but... DAMN!!! When you put it in practice it really packs a punch.

Hex removal and condition removal are rarely useful in PVE. While party healing sees more use, ER healer can easily fit spammable party healing into its build. While a Mo may be more flexible than ER healer, for majority of PVE areas, ER healer completely owns a regular healer. There's just no way that a Mo healer can compete with infinite energy that can spam 150~300 HP healing non-stop (and I do mean this literally since you can just spam the 3 spells with no delay... basically healing for 150~300 HP healed per second non-stop) while self healing for around 100 HP plus more energy gained per spell than spent.
Whether or not regular Mo's go out of business or not isn't the issue here. It's that with ER healer's 150~300 HP ally heal per second, 100 HP or so self heal per second, and more energy gained than spent per second, it's just way too powerful for most PVE situations and not what was intended.
