i thought it might be funny to see how people initially reacted to some skills.

[shame] and [guilt] never really made sense with their liberal use of 'ally' and 'foe'

well when i started i had no idea what [Balthazar's Aura] was supposed to be, to me it looked like an x-ray'd bone

i also thought the art for [earthquake] was supposed to be a big earth boom blast in the middle... not a crevise

anything you guys never understood?

(this can be moved if its not proper for this forum... but i thought it was)

When I first started and even now when I suffer a brain fart, I would get confused with Target ally and Other ally spells and what could be cast on the caster. Like heal spells and such.

I'v only played with about 15% of the total skills in the game so theres a lot of combinations I don't know and probably won't figure out for a long time.

As for icon art, Nothing comes to mind.

Not really. I'm pretty good at getting the hang of stuff like that. [Verata's Gaze] still scares me to look at though.

[skill]Frenzy[/skill]

When I first started playing I thought it was the worst skill ever. Double damage for only a 33% increase in attack speed? No thanks. Shortly after, learning that since you can only have one stance, using another such as [skill]Rush[/skill] would effectively cut off Frenzy if you're taking in too much damage made me realize it's great use.

shame and guilt got me at first too.

the whole logic behind expertise confuses me even to think of, even now.
it doesn't effect spells... but it effects touch spells
it effects ranger stances... but not non-ranger stances
but then it effects all attacks...

seriously, where is the logic in this? SRSLY

Ok it's a classic but [contemplation of Purity] makes me think about the exorcist. I find it a weird skill in name, functionality and image. It took me a while but I think it's perfect lol.

I hate to admit it, but it took me about an hour to figur out why apply poison wasn't working with Barrage...the game was still kinda new to everyone and I hadn't bothered to read the full description...last time I ever did that. I felt like a complete ass asking members of my PUG why poison wasn't working right...3 years later, I still blush.

For the life of me, I still can't figure out those "recharge X% faster" descriptions. The numbers never add up.
Just when I thought they are fixing [Mantra of Recovery] from the bugged "100% faster" to function really as the described "50% faster" at the skill description... then they bug up the skill description to say "33% faster" now?

[Shame]/[Guilt], [Mistrust] and etc +1. The ally/foe wordings at these skills are just totally misleading.

Yeah, I couldn't figure out that skill for the life of me. Good thing wiki cleared it up for me. But now it has a different function that's easier to understand.

I didn't understand [shield of absorption] when it first came out either. I remember Anet having to reword its description to its current one to clear up some confusion.

I would have easily considered these to be switched, but... hey, even now I'm still slightly confused why this is. Quick Shot was supposed to be... well, quick, but Called Shot is faster...

I still remember having to explain to random dude that was calling for help at Gates Of Kryta how [epidemic] works.
He was like " WTF?!?! I cast [backfire] and then [epidemic] it and it doesn't spread! Is it bugged?!?!?".
