Is this just Bad Luck?

Well I've been playing for 3 years now and every other player I know has achieved far far more than me. I simply cannot make money, or get a lucky break. Whenever I farm in UW everyone else get's the ectoes, or if I farm solo, I don't get any decent drops to make it worthwhile.

Do arenanet randomly choose accounts to hex with bad luck or is it my own deliberate fault?

There has also been a high level of prejudice with me, I get flamed for playing warrior, get flamed for my builds, get flamed for not having a mic, get flamed for not having GWEN, don't get taught anything by other people, eg in HA and TA as I "don't have a high enough rank", get shown no empathy or sympathy - players with insane titles are always charging me more rather that less over the pettiest of things.

Why is this game like this? No other game is.

It's ust the way things are. My warrior has never got a good drop either, my necro gets the greens just by playing, my ele has to farm a bit, but still gets what I need.

My warrior on the otherhand can't even get the monster drops necessary to play.

Same here. Haven't had anything good drop... ever. Farming isn't cutting it for me.

Don't be an ass about it. He's not a newbie QQing because he's lazy and it's not raining ectos. He's been playing 3 years and wants to know why people are asses and why he seems to get much lower drops than newer people that go around shouting "lolz i gots teh q7 kristalinz!!!11!one!11!!" or whatever rare drop is being farmed at the time.

In my experience bad players get all the best drops.

Thats why i play with alliance members only, then we can all get bad drops together.

You probably don't get the piles of gold people get because you don't actually try to farm as extensively and tirelessly.

Go out and do 20 successful UW solo runs. If you get nothing, go do fifty more.

If you come back and are still utterly poor after fifty runs, I'll just laugh, because you should have done five hundred.

well if everyone is flaming your builds, then it must be saying something - use new builds.

buy a mic, a cheap one is only $10.
buy GWEN, lots of easy ways to make gold in it.

you won't get sympathy at all - espec. in high end PvP so just forget about HA unless you want to spend endless hours getting a hero rank high enough to get you into a PUG most times.

if your not getting drops farming, then farm somewhere else.

I'm in the same boat. I agree with Isamu. Whenever I do FoW on my monk, it's always the Ursans(lol) that the shards and q9 shadow blades. I guess it just happens.

I'll laugh at you for not doing five thousand runs.


Yeah, my advice..be persistent when it comes to farming, you'll get something decent eventually

Go without Ursans then, it seems when ever I clear FoW all the monks gets the shards

Find a guild with nice players and a good alliance, do everything together, and ignore the rest of the players

Ask players for advice and just have fun.

I get lots of neat things from friends that are worth much money, perhaps get friends and do some farming?

it doesnt really matter of how long u've played, more- how much u've played.

qft. im one of many who has never been lucky enough to have a super rare drop, but i have made enough through a lot of farming to get whatever i want. if u say u've been playing 3 years and don't know how to make money, then maybe ur playing the wrong game. even now when its harder to make money than before, there are still ways to make lots of money provided that u are prepared to make the effort.

speaking of rank, everyone started off with none. but once again if u are committed enough its not that difficult to get. for glad rank its easy to get it through doing lots of RA, and for HA u can make/join unranked sway teams. and of course u could always join a guild to do either.

Persistence is key my friend.

As many others say, if you want something then keep doing until you get. Tis only way.

Just bad luck. Keep trying and one day you will get the drops.

tis1 but u will never know on the 1st day... so if u ever join a guild... just dont leave in next day or login.... cuz i hate someone who joined our guild, leave nextday bcoz he think hes gozu or smarter or better or guild doesnt fit me or etc....

stay at least several weeks or forever.. to sync each other so u can play together with "FUN!!!"

and yeah doin somethin 2gether is more fun than solo everything...

if u want tiles and gold, try the SS/LB run in NF. just go out and do UW solo farms on your warrior over and over again. I made well over 1000k that way when ectos were worth 7-9k. You will get bad runs eg my worst was 7 runs no gold or ecto. but then u get runs that make up for it, like my best was 6 ectos in 1 smite run

Welcome to Grind Wars. Like the others said, if you want drops, you have to devote absurd lots of your time to farming for them. I think the 45 ectos I have right now took me about 4 weeks to build up before I realized I was wasting my time on an idiotic mechanic built for people with no lives and gave up.

Riding my bike for an hour each evening or walking the dog was much more rewarding than sitting in front of the glowing moron machine for four hours every night anyway.
