Ok, I really like this game, but I am on the verge of chucking the whole thing. For the past week, I have been trying to get through the Borlis Pass mission, but I would invest about 45 minutes each time, only to get killed and sent back to the Pass and starting all over again!!!
I know this adds to the gametime, but come on! I don't why some of these missions don't have more rez points. There are none that I can see in Borlis Pass. If I have to lit one more fire, I swear I will cry. It will be a mighty cry and it won't be pretty.
I hope the Guild Wars 2 has a game feature save or some more rez points in missions lets you start where you left off or something. As it is now, I have to put the game away for a week just for a breather.
Anyone agree?
Thanks for letting me rant.
Save Mission Game feature is Needed

Missions don't have res shrines, the idea been that if your entire team dies you have failed the mission.
Try taking at least one monk henchie, then you have a portable res shrine, better yet if you are that bad take 2 and they can help stop you from dying in the first place, as that is quite an early mission, and if you think that is too tough, quit now as they get a lot harder.

If you are finding them that difficult you are doing something wrong.
At that stage it is a 6 man party, so you should be bringing henchies to heal you because you cannot make it through without them.
Also, I suggest that you take a self heal and res sig because henchies are stupid, and will die alot anywayz.
Finally, a save mission feature isnt needed because, if you all die you "fail" and therefore theres no reason to live, unlike in explorable area's where you arent doing something that important for the storyline.
If you still cant do it, join a guild and ask for help with you're build, suggestions, and the missions.

This would remind me about the save state function of snes emulators:
1º - Save state before boss fight
2º - Start the fight
3º - RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO things up
4º - Load State
5º - Rinse and repeat till you don't mess anything up and kill the boss
That would make things too easy...

I can only echo what's been posted above - Borlis Pass is one of the missions in Prophecies that teach/demonstrate that Guild Wars is also about teamwork (you can solo some of the game - some you can H/H - but for some you need another human along) and also why you dont pick the first Guild you find for their cape
- they should be there helping you (if not - time to look for another?)
You also don't say your level - you shouldn't be tangling with stuff around Yaks at less than L10 or 11, not unless you have a big hefty team mate with you!
Some think it's cool to rush through from Pre at L3 then get a run to places - but it really works against you in spoiling enjoyment of the game
Having said that (and being UK based) if you want a hand then Whisper me in-game and we'll try to help you through.

a "save game" feature? lol.... oh for this in Gates of Madness... save before Shiro and the Lich and then reload when pwnd all the time...
LOL...

Play the game and learn from mistakes, that what it's all about... take monks along, better still make sure you keep an eye on your health too and back out of fights if needed.... there is no shame in running away... just that is the smart thing at times...

I would be best if you tell us where and how do you die, what henchies you use, what skills you use and what is your general tactics. We can give you pointers to make it much easier.
If you want easy and fast ride just spam "can someone borrow me sabway heroes for borlis pass in NM?" in ascalon city or so. Person will join you with three L 20 companions and then quit once mission starts - leaving you with three very powerful characters for duration of mission which should be more than enough to beat it easily and fast.
You can also skip this mission by heading north-west from yaks bend and eventually reach ice tooth cave and from there another outpost and rejoin storyline, with res shrines and whatnot to make trip eventually possible even if you fail a bit.
You have three choices, which one is it gonna be?

Sorry, but MMO's don't work that way. There is no "save game" and there never will be. You'll understand that better once you have more experience with the game.
Anyways, as others have said, tell us what level you are, what skills you have and which henchies you bring. We can make some suggestions to help you.

/not signed for reasons already mentioned.
And I'll add my two cents on why it shouldn't happen so I don't get called an idiot or lazy
First, I have yet to find a single mission hard, even in Hard Mode *course, I have stayed away from some of the more annoying missions with H/H and find good players to do those with*. If you cannot do Brolis Pass, then you need to rethink your build and the henchmen you bring. Probably go back, do some quests, and level up, that will help.
Second, It will make the game too easy, EN has rez shrines in their missions, and I hate it personally. Removes the challenge too much. The point of a mission is to Succeed or Fail, not try try again.
Third, if people wanted this not because it is very difficult, but because they keep on disconnecting, well there is a time limit that allows you to get back in. That alone should be enough.
Forth,
No Rez shrine in mission="more real life" and Difficult
Difficult=A Challenge
Challenge=Fun
Fun=Good
therefore,
No Rez Shrine in mission=Good
how can you mess with that logic?
