Best elite when you were a beginner?
Turbobusa
hehe LF well necro and MM for furnace run!
Big_Daddy
LOL, I remember I used to take Wells to FoW...and people loved it!
Daenara
I think my first elite was shield of regen... that skill was teh sex.
Proff
Elemental Attunement >.> ... that and glyph of renewal were probably the only decent elites for an ele with only prophecies.
Quru
Necromancer - [skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill]
and later i though that [skill]Animate flesh golem[/skill] was the key of ultimate MM-build, what a shame i didn't have factions!

Definately [[Spiteful Spirit] on my ranger, I remember using it in Hells Precipace and thinking I was a god among men.
Although when I was a true beginner (before i even got any elites) I thought that elite skills were something that would make me invincible and a killing machine.

Elite!? who needs an elite when you have meteor shower...

These were the one's I found particularly useful and fairly easy to capture when I started:
Monk = [skill]Word of Healing[/skill]
Warrior = [skill]Cleave[/skill]
Ranger = [skill]Poison Arrow[/skill]
Elementalist = [skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill] or [skill]Glyph of Energy[/skill]
Mesmer = [skill]Energy Drain[/skill]
Necro = [skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill]
The other classes I honestly can't say I had just started so I knew what to look for in skills I want.

I'm surprised I got so far with it and Mending on my bar... |
Of course, I never bothered to pick up [Dragon Slash], so that's probably why I still like it...
I like making things harder than they have to be.
MithranArkanere
I finished both Prophecies and Factions just with [Glyph of Energy].
Diddy bow
I was a ranger so my time was based around getting the legendary barrage ofc =D

Nukey
I don't think my ritualist had an elite back then. All I know is that I was a Rt/E using ele skills!!!!
Phaern Majes
[Poison Arrow] on my Ranger... I used that for several months, then factions came out.
Cheevy
im sure it was [skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill], i playd on it whole prop and many more
Phineas
PvE'd only. My first lvl 20 was a Warrior and I loved Eviscerate for a long time.
samifly
Has to be posion arrow for "best" elite - until I discovered Barrage. First elite was Melandru's Resilience.
Kai Darklight
Grenths balance, although i still see it as a really good skill.
Avarre
I really swapped around with elites at the start, used SoJ and Esurge a fair amount though. Used to run this weird Dom/Smite mesmer build.
Once I got Ineptitude, that all ended.

I thought I was invincible with Life Transfer
Tingi
I loved the ol' Necro 1337's back in the day.
Grenths Balance and Life Transfer were epic.
I was also overjoyed when I captured Hundred Blades. I though I was an awsome warrior then.
And of course WoH was on my monk bar 100% of the time back in the day.

Best elites for my characters when I started playing:
Ranger > Barrage
Necromancer > Spiteful Spirit
Monk > Word of Healing
Today you can throw them all away and be sure to cap:
Monk > Healer's Boon
Any > Ursan Blessing
Ranger > Barrage
Necromancer > Spiteful Spirit
Monk > Word of Healing

Well my very first Elite that I capped was [cleave], thought it was super awsome at the time
When I got to the desert and found [Gladiator's Defense] I was very impressed.
Then factions came out and [tripple chop] + [dragon slash] were introduced and I've not looked at those first 2 elites since

Scythe O F Glory
Gladiator's Defense lol
Mister O
[unyielding aura]
That was how I prevent wammo from leroying 3 years ago.

Mark of protection was the first one i capped, around wintersday so i took it and farmed the grawls outside frontier gate (i think thats the outpost) for collectors.
~15 seconds of invincibility was so much fun for a newbie ^^

The first elite I thought was pretty awesome was [Star Burst]. I used that all the time until I managed to cap the best elite ever. Yes, that's right. I capped:
[Lightning Surge]
I mean, it causes damage and knockdown!
Ah yes, those were the days before I realized how important armor penetration actually is. XD

First I ever capped was [Double Dragon]. Didn't really read the skill description and was very disappointed when I cast it for the first time in battle and a little happy glow showed up around me but no ridiculous damage to the enemy. Soon afterwards I switched to [Mind Burn]. I was a Flare spammer at the time and wanted something I could spam that was a bit stronger. Then I realized what exhaustion was and switched over to [Elemental Attunement].
On my Assassin, it was [Palm Strike]. I just tossed it in instead of whatever my off-hand attack was at the time. Didn't really realize the benefits of a lead skip or the lead-offhand-dual-offhand-dual combo at the time. When I got far enough I capped [Aura of Displacement]. I was pretty good with it too as far as mobility and knowing where to be.

Ekelon
[skill]elemental attunement[/skill][fire attunement] OWNS. I never went anywhere without these two skills.
DonCorleoneCS
glads defense or dev hammer
Nick Of Troy
When I first capped Escape, I thought it was the best skill in the history of GW
zelgadissan
[Mantra of Recovery]
Still finds use decently often for me.

Munchkin
The best elite I had for my ranger was Punishing Shot. For my monk, like most it was Word of Healing.
Yuhe Ji
My ele loved [Water Trident]. I couldn't wait to go down Lornar's to cap it. It changed to [Mind Blast] after I "discovered" Exuro using it on my derv.
Reinfire
The first elite I ever capped was [skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill] with my ele. I though I was the bomb ^^
