from what i noticed when the keys came out they were around 3k
a week ago 5k each and this morning they were already selling zkeys for 6k each
with those tonics 'n stuff prices are going up and stock is mainly quite low when you try to buy in temple of balthazar
what will happen later?
will armbraces be sold for 100k + 15 zkeys instead of ectos?
especially with the title track and the tonics people are crazy for these and prices have gone up since
when a tonic comes out that'd be from a cool monster from GW i think prices would go even more up

Just because 1 person sells them for 6k doesn't mean that's what they averagely go for. They're 5k atm and they will probably stay that way a long time as well.

/disagree with aera. with the chance of everlasting tonics, prices are gonna drop (when the tourney points come out) and then rise again once everyone has used the keys from said points. business man would buy once the points come out, keep the keys, and sell at a higher price later. but that's just my 2 cents.

Also, at OP, research supply and demand. If people refuse to pay 6k, the prices will systematically drop. If people start to pay 6k, the sellers will realise people are being pushovers, and keep pushing the prices up.

Ive never paid over 5k per key , quite often I can still get them 4.5k per and this was as recently as yesterday. I to have seen people asking for 6k/ but I also see enough at 5k. I have to guess that 5k will be about the price range as its very easy to swap ecto for key 1:1 which I see quite often

Yeah, they are not getting 6K for the keys. They are spamming for a while, well after the 5K ones sell theirs and move on.

And of course, let's not forget that, often, players are offering to sell for 6k, just to make sure that if a buyer haggles and bargains down to 5k-- the seller's getting the price he/she wanted anyway.

I sell them for 5k, or trade for ecto cos then i dont have to buy them.
Thats nothing special, ectos and keys are worth the same.

I've been selling my keys ever since the update and most of the time my price was 5k. A couple times I sold for 5.5k and during a few low points (AB weekend brought the price down a notch) traded 1:1 for ecto, since most people value ectos slightly lower than 5k and it saved me the hassle of having to go to Kamadan after and convert money into ecto.
However, recently the price has been climbing. Last two batches I sold 9 for 50k. Still, the fluctuations have been pretty small since the update, so I don't think they'll go up much.
If enough people share your view then the price will stop climbing at 6k since supply will be able to match demand. It won't drop down to 5k though, for that supply has to exceed demand, and assuming more people don't suddenly start PvPing, only a PvP weekend that gives a large portion of players double faction would do that. (HA weekend did give double faction, but only to a relatively small percentage of PvPers, so you didn't really see a dent in the price of keys.)

I have seen people sell for 7.5k but it doesnt mean you need to buy it. I just buy all for 5k and still get sellers.

Every Day prices go up its just like the dye traders prices have a bounce every single now and then. We have red dyes going up and down and blue dyes going up down with prices. Z Keys are going up also but never down so if you ever purchased Z Keys when they were 3k I recommend selling them now for 6k.

You are in competition for buying those keys as supply is low. Your WTB: 5k a pop. Someone elses WTB: 6k a pop.

I don't see a price drop any time soon. Some people will still continue to sell for 4-5k each due to the easier sell, but those looking to gain by key sells will sell at 6k+ shortly.

Very true Malice. But you will have those underhanded sellers who will keep selling them at 5k even if people bump them up to 6k. If they get enough keys and enough of them do it they should be able to keep the prices stablized. Of course that is all in theory and nothing goes much by theory anymore. oO

The right price on a zaishen key ( after the zrank update ) would be a balance on the average gold gain per chest drop ( not only merch price but the actual item price in the market ) + the price on 5 points on the zaishen title track. There isnt a way to calculate that, since the drops are unpredictable and the you really cant put up a price on a title track like the zrank, so the average price is supposed to reach a optimum balance by a common sense of worth of the players...

Buy low sell high people affect the price as well. Sometimes if you wait around long enough you'll get a key or two for under 5k from someone trying to get rid of theirs quick.

It's kinda funny. Folks in this thread will pay 5k, but not 6k, however last week folks there would pay 4.5k but not 5k. Yes, prices are rising, and yes, you will pay for the keys just as long as you think you're getting a good deal.

As of six hours ago, I can make note of around 50-55% of one district (again, of those who were selling) asking 5.5-6k per key.
Those who were buying, rather than selling, reached as high as 6k per key. So in my own personal judgment and sight, they'll be steadily rising.
Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the keys become alternate equals to Ectoplasm in high price trades.

The main reason right now why Keys are rising is the Everlasting Automatonic, which is overpriced too, because it just came out. Those Tonics went down from 170e to 140e over the course of one weekend (this weekend), so I expect the Keys to drop again when the Tonics will fall as we go into June.
Over the long term Keys will not go as high as 6k and not as low again as 3k, 5k or 1e also seems to be reasonable to me.
Notice that Ectos dropped yesterday to 4.8 at Rare Material Trader, due to excessive farming (due to PvE-Perma-Shadow Form), so 1 Ecto = 1 Key is hard to maintain.
