Festival Hats in HOM
T-D-C
I haven't seent this before so I'm sorry if it has already been brought up.
Just wondering what everyone else thinks of this idea. Since Anet are already making changes to the HOM I would like to see a stand or a Wall in the HOM to display the Masks that you have on your account. They could be displaed on the walls between the monuments.
This is another way of showing how long you have been around (even though I deleted my character who had the original Halloween masks before the hat maker)
not sure if this is possible but I would like to gather input from the rest of the community in the hopes that Anet will see it.

Mm, I don't know. I kind of think the Miniature monument is a waste of space as it is. It would have been better to have only the important stuff displayed. That said, it probably isn't that bad of an idea.
Konig Des Todes
Wouldn't be a terrible idea, but where would it be? I don't think there is much space for an extra stand unless you put it in between, say, Valor and Resistance, or Devotion and Fellowship. I find it unlikely, and I find no real use for it, but I also find no reason why not to other then no point.
Maybe be able to transfer those festival hats as is to GW2?

Parson Brown
I actually love this idea. And the monument would be no less pointless than any of the others. I mean minipets? Armor remnents?
Shayne Hawke
What's the point? The HoM is meant for passing achievements from GW to GW2. Masks are far from an "achievement", and it's not worth making them that way.

nah, then your punishing people who werent around in 2005/06/07 and werent able to get a hold of one of the original masks.

I see no point. If you have the hat wear it. Most of them are stupid looking anyways.

I would much rather see Everlasting tonics addable to HoM before event masks, (unless im retarded and havnt figured out how to add them to my hom lol). Simply because are Everlasting tonics not more prestigious than hats?

I like this idea, it shows devotion to the game ;p
MithranArkanere
I won't mind if they are shown in the Devotion monument.
But not until they add a way to sort statues there.
And of course NOT to make a separate monument for them.

New monument? No.
As MithranArkanere suggested, add hats to the monument of Devotion The hats, like mini pets, are collectibles, but you can't trade or buy hats from other players. I see no reason for this not to be done other than the fact of the time that it would take to make this work.
It would probably not be added but still /signed.

I'd rather have a wider arsenal of weapons in the HoM. And festival hats are too easy to get.

Tender Wolf
I like this idea, and they should add a spot for common armor too. Any weapon type would also be nice but that's another story. But either way, /signed

I'm on the fence honestly. They are definately more "prestegeous" then minipets and hero armor remenants.

I think it would be easier to just put a festival hat make in GW2 and if it's on your account you can get it there too.
Sora267
I'm gonna keep it short: I think that we should be able to place our festival hats into the HOM. It could go with the "Devotion" monument.
Why? Well, we can already put stuff like miniatures, titles, and armor in there. It's all stuff that you don't NEED to play, but they're fun to have and brighten up the game a little bit, just like the festival hats.
What do you all think?

This is a bit unfair to those who missed X event if you ask me. Coming from someone who missed a few events, you can say I'm being biased, but there are alot more people who share the same problem and this will only erupt in complaints of "can i have access to the older ones" etc..

Not really needed,i havent bothered to get hats for a couple years now since they all look bad,i wouldnt be too happy if they sudenly became useful.
/notsigned because theres no need, and going to an event shows nothing special at all,soo why should it be honored?

Hmmmm, I don't know, I mean the hall is really meant to be display (and hopefully reward) of achivements. Events and such are fun and made easy for everyone ie. They aren't taken seriously by the Devs.
Sorry but /notsigned

Yes, it think they should be displayable. was just about to make this suggestion myself. it would be nice to show off events you have participated in

huh?? I see no reason to put even more useless stuff in the Hom...sorry /notsigned (and yes I do have them all--but rarely use any)

More useless junk to clutter up HoM? No thanks. /Not signed.

I fully agree with this, turning up for an event isn't really an achievement, you could say the same about spamming "WTB MINIPETZZ" in Kamadan though, but i think obtaining minipets from birthdays or whatever is different...
Lourens
In my opinion this makes not sence cause newer players cant get all the hats and it would be lame
MithranArkanere
Since the monument will still show only 20 items, it doesn't matter how much do you add AS LONG AS THEY ADD A WAY TO SORT AND CHOOSE THE ONES YOU WANT TO SHOW.
The masks could be in something like this:

I don't care about displaying them as part of the HoM, I don't count them as "achievements" either, but...
I still want them on my characters in GW2, the masks are still a nice collectible, some actually look good, and they serve as a way to show how long you've been playing GW or the events you participated in.
A character wearing the original Pumpkin Crown will be recognized as someone who plays the GW series since 2005.
Since the Festival Hat NPC already knows the masks you managed to get on your account, maybe his "list" should carry to GW2, with a similar NPC...

Would be unfair towards those, who couldn't participate in events.

In my opinion, festival hats are a better thing to have in the HoM then the "heroes with elite armor" monument. I've always been kinda vexed with the choices they made in creating the HoM (the titles, armor, and mini pets one kinda work, the heroes and the destroyer weapon one is kinda silly).

Im with Frozy and Ryker. Not exactly an achievement (apart from length of time playing GW maybe) - but if HoM is the link between the games, then having the hats in GW2 would be nice.

I'm neutral. I agree with Frozy and I agree with Tyla.
I guess /signed. I don't have as many hats as I should but I'm not really opposed to those who do getting to wear them in GW2 - unless they make them have armor stats. If they do, then /notsigned because I'll be jealous.

I agree with Mithran. We need to fix/improve how the HoM works before we add more stuff to it.
Past that, the purpose of the HoM is to give rewards to people in GW2 for achievements in GW. Being at an event for a hat is hardly an achievement, and there will be new events and new festival items to be had in GW2.

Very nice idea, a remembrance to all events you attained.

I think several people who joined GW later on will oppose to the idea. However HOM is a place you put junk anyway so why not festival hats. I like it though.
SkekSister
Great idea. You made the effort to attend so you should be able to add it.
I missed a couple of years of festivals myself (damn you Counter-Strike) but I would still like to show the ones that I have managed to get.

I'd sign if there was a way for people to get hats from events they didn't attend. Not fair to people who buy the game tomorrow and can't get any of the hats until Wintersday coming up. All other items are obtainable. Minipets can be purchased, and armor can be bought, as well as Tormented/Destroyer weapons.

Being at an event and getting the hat is far more of a personal achievement (and a better memory to boot) than buying minipets. /signed on adding festival hats to the minipet monument. When I first read that description, I immediately thought it would have been logical to add them there, since it's talking about the fun we've had in our non-fighting time. That just screams "festivals" to me.
For people whining about how it wouldn't be "fair": it's not like it would take away your ability to add minipets to the monuments. Everyone would be able to add at least a few hats at least. Festival hats (and the CE aura) are the one thing left in GW that is un-buyable and cool to have, just a little cosmetic something, which is precisely how the HoM will (should) reward us in GW2. It fits perfectly. Everyone does not have a chance at filling their HoM with all the rarest minis, armors, tormented weps, and high-level titles, so I really don't see the difference with festival hats.
