I can connect now, no more errors, but however GW just stops running after 5-10 seconds. Then I get the pop-up saying that in GW a serious error has occured and needs to be shut down. Anyone else getting this problem?

That's one you're going to have to take up with support personally, Mitch.

I suppose it's technically possible for items to disappear if the big disconnect happens in the middle of a transaction - but I don't know for certain.

Some of my alliance are still getting disconnections but that might be related to their own ISPs. I have noticed a good amount of less disconnections over the last two days(in reguards to my own thread on disconnections) so hopefully any more are one time things or faults of the ISP
