Something That annoys me (Slighty QQ SF Related LOL)

Yea surprise ,surprise another view on the update that was like 100000 years ago.
So, People QQ'd a lot about the SF nerf and i wanna start by saying this is not about that skill. Although the update was a result of it, its not directly linked.
Anyways, This is one thing that really pisses me off about Anet, they cant come up with a solution so they change stupid things. Here is the update if you haven't read it
PvE Changes
Back in May, Shadow Form had its duration increased and emerged as a key part of several highly efficient farming builds. To lower the efficiency of Shadow Form farming without removing it as an option, we are changing both the skill and some creatures in the Underworld.
Assassin
* Shadow Form: the caster of this skill now does 50% less damage while it is active.
Underworld
* Added Hex Breaker to the Mindblade Specters in the Underworld.
* Several Banished Dream Riders in the Chaos Plains region of the Underworld have been replaced with Cursed Dream Riders.
* When Cursed Dream Riders are killed, they cause Mindflay Specters to spawn. Mindflay Specters have Signet of Disenchantment instead of Hex Breaker.

The fact is they shouldn't do things like that, i mean they might aswell have assasins spamming expunge enchantments or something
... ok not that bad but its the same principal.
I just think its a bit stupid brining in skills other than core to fix a problem that was already fixed

you are able to acess the underworld/fissure from proph/factions/nightfall.
so there is no proplem the foes using fac skills. as long as they are using core classes.
another thing would be paragon foes. you have only proph and now you dont have the hex vocal minority. that would be pretty bad.

Well, that's why we are playing the game and they are making it. They got their own silly rules, we just enjoy the game.

I do enjoy the game, please don't interpret this AS QQ OMGZ THEY NERFEDED SOMETHING I QUITTED
It's just something i believe as a player, the designers could do a better job
i dont do UW much nowdays, i find it tedious and unrewarding at best, but silly things like this is what makes people cry and whine about nerfs.
It was a totally unnecessary move implemented to prevent people farming ectos, and from what ive seen, the only thing it has done is messed up team farms such as the tri terra/ quad terra UW. The ecto farming is still doable, regardless of what they try, aslong as SF stays maintainable it will be possible.
We finally came up with something practical and efficient to finish all of underworld and it gets impaired by something in attempt to fix something else

i would rather have SF incorporated into a team build or completely nerfed and thats what guild wars is about - team builds

this was the LAMEST (but at the same time probably the smartest, although it failed) excuse for making such a thread like this. :P
well, you came up with it once. that surely was a challenge to you -- but what would you get from it now? don't you think it will be more fun if they nerf it (not on purpose) and you can take the challenge again? discovering one thing and "abusing" it is quite boring imo..so it's actually a cool thing they changed it. :P these are the last things (even if they're minimal) that keep the pve alive.
a lot of players cry that it's too easy, hard, and when something gets nerfed that actually makes it easier, they QQ? i don't get it, isn't it just another chance to make it a bit more interesting again? :P

Considering you can reach the UW through all the campaigns ANet probably decided to throw in a Factions skill would be okay since you can reach it from Factions. I see what you are saying but it's not a big deal.

It is THEIR game, they made it and guess what? that means they can change ANYTHING they want. They could put in new skills like "the player I am attacking sucks skills" which kills you instantly if they wanted.
bottom line is, it is their game, they can do whatever they want with it. they can add whatever they want.
It was never said that the game would stay the same and that everything would not be changed.

With an MMO, there is a large community. its not like an FPS where you just jump straight in and kill. Anet needs to tread carefully because they dont want to lose customers, especially with GW2 announced.
also its not like its a couple of guys sat in a friends bedroom designing this game. They have to stick to certain trends. a good example is the anti grind policy, and if they dont continue this then they will more than likely lose a lot of dedicated players for GW2.
And even if this is pointless, im aware none of this changes ANYTHING, theres no harm in discussing it.
Now when the implemented such things as campaign specific skills, you expect them to conform to that and i find it rather irritating that they did this as such a cheap fix. When they do strange moves like this it tends to feel like a private WoW server or something where silly rules and ideologies come into play.
I hope i cleared up the reason for my motives. I like to discuss my thoughts with other people. If we didnt do that.. well we get people like lykan up there ruling the roost ^^

I do not understand why SF was extended in the first place. Did A-Net not think that it would be used for more efficient farming? It would seem that the answer would be to return SF to its previous duration, and eliminate the 50% damage reduction.
On a related note, if the game is supposed to be Skill>Time, why punish folks for creating efficient skillbars? While I do start with wiki templates, they can always be made better. I wonder if A-Net is trying to slow things down in hopes that more people will stick around for GW2.

Timera is an Elonian henchman, yet she uses Griffon's Sweep, which is a Prophecies skill. So it doesn't happen with mobs only, yet no one really cared about it.
And, BTW, it's stated nowhere that core areas MUST feature strictly core skills.

They could just make: [monster skill] and have it do what ever they want. Problem fixed. Or better make it even stronger like: remove 1 enchantment, if enchantment is removed target suffers dazed for 10 seconds. (This skill acts like a signet) They are "mind flayers" after all.

I have no problem with them using any skills from any part of the game. I be happy if they put ritualist, assassins, dervish, and paragons in the underworld just to update it a little bit. I also wished they had changed the builds in the UW after ever campaign was released. Has anyone tried creating builds using only the core skills, doable but something else is always better.

Besides, the only thing that nerf did was take out 3-4 groups. Which, yes, does cut back on the amount of ectos you get per run. Boo friggin hoo. You have to do more runs to get what you want now. So sorry for them making you have to work that much harder.

Now this is a long shot, but if they want to bring in skills from other campaigns, fair enough but i think drops should be incribable. And i think it owuld be a lot better if Dervish skills and Paragon skills and all the other classes had a few core skills. And hell that would open up maybe having new mobs in UW, but it just seems like a cheap way to deal with things IMO.
If they feel the need to update Underworld to make it fit in with the modern skill bar, they they should up date it to correspond with the newer campaigns. Instead of just throwing things all over the place. Thats another argument though i guess.
And i think somebody has said somewhere, or just common sense tells you that campaigns are supposed to have skills linked only to that campaign.

Dont be moronic please, i have stated numerous times i'm not here for the solo farm or asking anything to be reverted. I've just said that something annoys me. I'm not like OMGZZZOORERDSSFSDSD. Ectos are worthless so i see them as a waste of time in game now.

For the 6th time, I am for a shadow form nerf. I think solo farming should stay outside of elite areas, that will never happen but it's just something i think. They didn't nerf SF appropriately either. They should have the duration at 15 or 17 seconds. But they did 3 unnecessary changes that could have been sorted so simply with 1. But talking about shadow form is OFF TOPIC.

I don't solo farm. It's not hard to understand. if you want to turn this into a personal slander match then fine. but the only thing pathetic here is people posting without even having an opinion on the matter

Now, this discussion should be about Core skills and campaign specific skills. And if Campaign specific skills should be in Core places. As i already stated, i'm well aware that discussing a matter isn't changing it.. But wheres the harm in doing so?
I have said multiple times that this has nothing to do with Shadow Form being nerfed. If you want to talk about the topic, then do so. Feel free to express your opinion. But get it out of your heads that this is about farming or shadow form
