How would you feel about...

I'd despise it, and I know many others would too. You can't watch TV, visit web sites, or do anything without having some sort of ad now. We don't need them on our games too. Even as I type this I see an ad at the top of this forum page. And it's been proven that TV shows don't last as long as the commercials that occur during them. If they threw those into our games I'd be pissed, especially in Guild Wars. Not to mention the lag they'd cause.

I wouldn't mind. If it means ANet have more money to develop the gameplay, then so be it.
Ads are easily ignored anyway.

I was looking back through Game & Dev Tracker, and stumbled across this relevant Gaile quote:

Well that settles that. I don't think anyone will be sad by out the lack of ads. Although maybe the lack of additional content cause by the lack of ads?

No problem if it's adverts for the Xunlai Storae facilities or the political campaign for president of the inter-race alliance. But no to McRurik's! It would ruin the atmosphere.

Just noted this thread, which reminded me of the fact Anet is advertising EotN at the Login-screen

If ads give us more Dev interaction and better service, give me ads.

Thank God they're not putting ads in there. No ads ftw!
I don't care if they would give us extra content and stuff, it would be sooo annoying and laggy. As with my previous post, you can't go anywhere without ads ruining everything (they last longer than TV shows) and popping up at you. It's annoying. I don't care if they'd give us extra content, I'd rather live without it than having ads everywhere.

I don't mind ADs if they are integrated in the game:
- Boards in towns..
- NPCs advertising.
- Loadscreens...
But I HATE when adds take part of the screen.

It would be too bad if ANet went that way. I enjoy GW1 very much and am willing to give GWII a good try. But it is very unlikely that I would spend any money on a game with intrusive ads, pretty much no matter how good it is. Especially with DIII coming out, something like that would take them right out of the running.

QFT. If they can be integrated into the game in a non-flashy non annoying way (see: crap I can tune out lol) then I'm with the Bunny. If we get actual content based on it then bring em on.
I for one am EXTREMELY bored after 3+yrs. It's been months since we got a new challenge. If having a few npcs with word bubbles/posters on outpost walls etc will get me like a Sorrow's Furnace type update every couple few months, I'll take it.
