There has never been a confirmed drop of a R7 Max Inscribed item.

IF they exist they are the rarest item outside of the Frog Mini pet in all of GuildWars.

Several types of free to open containers (lost strongbox, frozen chest, etc.) were removed with the 2005 summer update.

During the first month after release there were locked chests in the southern shiverpeaks and monsters sometimes dropped keys for them (called Dwarven Keys iirc). Those got discontinued very early in the game's life. I've seen such a key drop once for a guildmate and never again.

Hmm, I have one of those no requirement staffs with 10 energy on it from when I first started the game, was going to delete it a while back to make space but I think I still have it around, is it worth anything?

it makes me sad to think what I threw away...

I dropped 100 jade wind orbs to pick up a drop in the deep at one point...
I salvaged a wintergreen axe before perfect kits came out (still have shield spear and dags)
I trashed my mix dye collection in a fit of thinking they were taking up space

sigh i could go on on

Orbs no, but the axe was a one-time promo (first-ever Xunlai Tournament House). Unless the wintergreen items come back, we'll never see them again - unlike the candy cane items we can craft every Wintersday.

i know that, cus got few of em myself, just they're selling for like 30-40k (axes) so not big loss

Whether that much cash is a big loss is subjective, but in the perspective of this thread the destruction of any functional "discontinued" item is a great loss.

I'm talking about the ones from 2005, there were good ones which gave you a present but there was also bad ones that just exploded or gave you a lump of coal!

Good ones are now called Wintersday Gift, but the Bad version is no longer available.

Winter Gifts were available during Wintersday'06 and '07 from Scrappy Jhim npc in LA, they are exact the same as 2005 gifts, different than Wintersday Gifts. There were no Grenth versions of them available anymore though, but it's impossible to tell which ones you got until opening (or trying to stack with the other kind, I think)
