Why did you choose the profession you did?

I started with a ranger, but realised I didn't really like playing her all that much. On top of that, I got really sick of Alesia, so I switched to monk.
Then I started getting through the game at top speed (because everyone wants a monk in their party) and I also realised I actually liked monking, because it kept me on my toes.
My second is my ele. She casts the spells that make the people fall down!

I have them all except a sin (couldnt get the hang of the 3 attack-thing)....and my dervish is still pretty young.....all in all I like casters better than melee. My first was an ele, I still play her a lot, however, I also play my 2 rits quite often as well as my necros and mesmers and monks.....my warrior gets the least amount of love unless I really feel like beating the s*&t out of something and then she gets some screen time.....I have only 1 ranger, and for the longest time she was a mule. I finally got her to level 20 when I saw the primeval armor and she has been working on getting there ever since. (I do play a bunch of characters that use bows are their primary weapon and one of my monks really likes hers and her pet cosyfiep!)
I choose to play them all----I get bored easily and changing characters alleviates that boredom

my first and favourite was my Mesmer. She's just beautiful and elegant.

Male Necro. they have the whole vampire thing going haha, players i meet always ask why my characters are so pale, after I made my first character the male necro, the rest of my character always have the colorless skintone. unless there isn't one.
KycooGhost
My first and Primary class is Elementalist. I'd played casters in other games and found them to be really fun. I just liked the idea of not having to up close and personal with the guy I'm killing. Much safer at the back of the group safely killing a boss that wont even know that I'm there.
I Is Special
"I'm going to be strong like a warrior and cast huge damage spells like an elementalist! It will be the perfect combo!!!"

I went with the Dervish long-term because it was the first one I hit that I found particularly effective/fun. I guess a big part of that was that I got some heroes with the bargain.

I chose Paladin originally because you cannot argue with Hammerdin. I mean, it used to be a lot stronger, but with the right gear it's second to none for PvM.
I have since made two Sorceresses so that I can do MF easier (Teleport ftw), so I'm making a Blizz and Light sorc currently. Might make a Necromancer down the line, but meh, happy as it is.

Because warrior was the shit to play when you first learned. I mean those casters were wimpy but warrior are BIG and warriors are STRONG so why wouldnt you choose it!

Arkantos chose warrior because you can't be mighty without being a warrior.
fenix
That's why I made my Warrior. Brave and big domage. Highest DPS in the game yes pls
Kahlindra
Necro; I liked the look and also the idea of being able to steal back life. Because I play everything like a tank :-) I learned though....

There was a reason IWAY was so successful. Taking no damage + huge domage + health regen. How can you lose?
Necromancers also helped IWAY, so I guess you could make one of those... I guess...

Monk - I wanted to have a character, that no matter the situation, is required.

warrior: always played warrior in rpgs
ldoa ele: dropped an offhand i love and wanted a char able to use it

Why? Because they looked so good dang hawt with their tattoos and stuff.
Like to play her in PvP but Rit in PvE, not thanks not for me anymore.

Pretty sure SY spam on assassin is pretty good.
Kook~NBK~
My first character was a Ranger. Because I liked the whole concept - having a pet, traps, ranged attacks, etc.
My Favorite Character is my Mesmer. She's just so much fun to play! Besides, that "Me/*" in the LFG message works rather well as a bad PUG repellant.

Why are people even defending sins we all know that the muscular warriors would snap a sin in half like a twig. No argument.

Overextending into their backline by default, with paper armor like a monk just to get a 600+ damage combo off ... now THATS what I call brave and big domage. And I have seen many Sin's in Frenzy now tell me again that a 126 armor shield wielder is brave ...

Bought the game for the ranger's Beast Mastery and spirits.
The same day I moved onto the necro.
Raising stiffies was just too good to pass. Then got bored of that and moved onto curses which then led into falling in love with the mesmers. These guys have probably the most fun skills in the game.
Then Factions came out and the casting animations, armors and spirits that actually worked the way I thought nature rituals did - made me fall in love with these guys.
So up to GWEN I was constantly switching back and forth between these guys (well mostly mesmer and rit - since I had fallen out of love with the necro because god mode bores me) - and then came the PvE skills. Which meant that I only had 4 slots left and the ritualist fills them better then the mesmer. Combine that with the insane armors and we have a winner!
But now I moved on to raising skeletons. Can't wait to reach lvl12 for mages!

I started out as an ele.
It was my first of these "fantasy" games, so blatantly i had to have fireballs.

Mine would have to be Necro. I have an interest in Mayan gods and death, so Necs really fit in with that. I love spreading hexes around. [parasitic bond] is my friend, lol.
Pleikki
I allways wanted someting challenging, so i tried make characters hard to play, after that i've looked how some characters looked, and then choosed the one that i think would be coolest to play, few characters maked only for farming or whatever and now all of em have gotten deleted.
Kikuta
Warrior, just because I love being a D-Slash lulzmobile.
Runner up is my Necro. MM's and SS nukers are fun.

Pre-Factions:
Warrior:I like hitting things.
Monk:The GW heal/support class seemed pretty integral to 99% of the game hence I wanted to learn how to play one, more so for future reference and the philosophy of knowing one's enemy and also knowing my team mates capacity.
Since Factions release:
Sin as my primary.
The concept of the Sin class grabbed me instantly.I love glass cannons and the margin for error being much smaller than I had experienced thus far really put the nail in the coffin of my Warrior who would easily survive most encounters even if I made fatal errors in build mechanics or skill usage.
I love the fact Sins are far less forgiving in this respect which keeps me on my toes and makes the game far more exciting for me to play.
The fact that if I make mistake I usually die as opposed to take a bit off my red bar obviously took time to adjust to, imo a large reason they were so disliked on release, but after a few weeks it was exactly this burst-spike glass cannon mechanic that made the game totally fresh and exciting for me.
I've never looked back since and although I dust off my Warrior every now and then it's not long before I'm hankering for something a bit more risky and challenging.
I also like playing the underdog in nearly all situations including RPG's as I find it vastly more rewarding to accomplish goals.

Aera Lure
Mine's my monk. I've always enjoyed taking a support role and excelling at it to the benefit of the party, being as helpful as I can. For me its always been the team co-op aspect of the game that is most appealing. Even in a PvP environment, its the team play of your team vs that of another team's synergy that I focus on, rather than outright competitiveness player vs player. Be it a PvE PUG or a guild group, or PvP the little that I have, its always in this role that I find the most enjoyment. Its why I am very down on heroes, the demise of the PUG and issues like that.

I fell in love with the class from day 1. The first thing I liked was beast mastery , but soon Expertise caught my eye , not because of the reduction of the energy cost of some skills , but because of the stances , I made many other characters in the meantime , but since I captured Barrage I never played any other class again in PvE. Plus there isn't anything sweeter than Dis-shoting something .

My first char was a Warrior but tbh I didn't have that much fun with it and hated how most of the armour looked so I deleted that char and made a Necro and haven't looked back since
I also have a Derv and a Monk now which I like but my Necro is definetly my fav

My fav and main prof is ele. I just love how much damage they do and are somewhat versatile. They are really fun and easy to play, seeing as how you an push a few buttons and blow everything up in seconds. I also really love their armor, which is why I made an ele in the first place. But tbh, I really liked fire magic and wanted to play around with that when I first got gw.
Now I rarely play my ele, but if I want to roll through an area, she's always the first one I'll choose ^^
A second close is Derv or Monk, I love healing people and doing ridiculous OP dmg that pisses people off c:

My favorite is necromancer because it is a very versitile class. I can choose either death, blood and curses and still be a strong asset to the group.
1. They are fun to play.
2. Grenth is by far the best God in the game.
3. Spiteful Spirit ftw!
