Mods can close, apparently GW'ers are content with a broken game.

*clicks on GW*
*logs in*
nope, it's working for me mate
Not a boycott. The threat of a boycott. A bluff, if you will. Just to see if Anet responds by cleaning up GW. Even if you want to guy GW2, shouldn't you want GW1 to be fixed as well? God forbid Anet takes out the easy buttons in GW.
And where did I say I wasn't going to buy GW2 when it comes out? Yes, i understand the hypocracy of making a thread titled "boycott GW2" and then saying i'm going to buy it anyways. But, GW2 is a few years away, so if we organize a boycott now, it might shake Anet up enough to make them update the game and fix it a bit. It could all go to waste, and they could see right through our bluff. But what's the harm in trying?

The only people that may agree with this are the really hardcore that may make up 5% of total GW community, and if they go away GW would be a better game anyway.
1) How much should ecto cost in your mind. Anyone should have known that ecto was going to drop. If you dont want FoW armor or Chaos Gloves its not good for anything. The only people that would even think about getting that stuff are the hardcore which are a very small percentage of the population. The casual gamer sure as hell isnt going to shell out 5k an ecto to get 75, 120, or 195. People are going to farm them and sell them if they can, keep in mind not many willing to buy them at that price. So those that farm them regularly and have accumulated stockpiles of them sell them at the NPC when they see the price drop and the price drops even furthere.
They will only balance out when the casual gamer thinks it is realistic for them to be able to get FoW or Chaos items and then they will buy them, so they are headed down where they should be headed.
Also they were well on the way down before Ursan and Perma SF. If you ask me thats Anets way of tweaking the game more for its vastly casual gamer community.
If you stockpiled that stuff for currency I think it serves you right. GW should not be about how much gold you can accumulate, and how much you can rip others out of for some stupid item skin. I hope they find a way to take the emphaisis of farming and trading in GW2. If they do that I will for sure be buying it.

who says they don't have money? 84.3 million from Korea alone.

Edit: if anyone else has any idea of a possible solution to the GW problem, besides "quit QQing" and "play something else" I would love to hear them. Honestly, I would.

The point of a boycott is to impact sales to help motivate a change in a given policy or course of action. How can you boycott something 2-3 years away?
Also, what's the point? Anet does not read the forums anymore. How would they even know about it. I dont get the sense that they are involved with the community at the moment.
What change are you looking to make? The balancing of all the issues in PvE? That wasnt possible prior to the switch of focus to GW2. A reversion of the mass exodus of older PvPers? Difficult one there too, given there is one developer assigned to GW.
GW is in steady state. Some small tweaks here and there, but its this way until GW2 releases, and at that point, no one is going to be looking to come back and fix GW.
Impossible to even know what the gaming market will be like then. Will we all be off somewhere else? Will we all come back?

As already been mentioned, they're looking at Ursan, and im expecting it to be hit today, or next thursday. That's plenty of time before GW2 comes out.
Basically you're QQing(and yes, you are QQing) about how easy PvE is....guess what? When GW came out it was a PvP based game and it still is. If you're played out with how easy PvE is join the lower tier [kisu] guild and work your way up the PvP ladder
For the most part PvP gets updates when it needs updates(i.e. something being completely broken) and with the meta shifting constantly you should have an easy enough time keeping yourself entertained
Or best yet, there are plenty like you that hate sf/ursan....make a great 5 or 8 man team build that uses neither of these, post it around and let it get popular. When the ursan nerf hits its going to drive away alot of players who will then go to the next best thing(guess what, thats your build) and there you have it! Balanced groups back in elite areas, who would have thunk it?

Also, remember that even if you express your concerns as i listed above, they are not going to always agree with you and change the game. But at the very least you voiced your oppinion and contributed positivly to the GW community.
