I would start pugging again if there was friendly fire! That would so make my day for all the "wonderful" people that you tend to meet

I'd put on my cowboy hat as far back as I could and do what I did in Halo Trial Edition: BETRAYER BOB.

Best. Time. Ever.

have you ever played oblivion....been in tight quarters w a couple allies, and had to attack an enemy there? if not it is damn near impossible to cast a destruction spell or swing a weapon w/o hitting and angering an ally. if friendly fire was implemented gameplay would, imo be like this. (personally i think that style of combat system is the way they are heading in gw2, say goodbye to click and attack)

I would happily kill some of my teammates.
On Christmas day, I would find all the survivors and kill them, too. Grinch steals Christmas

I'm pretty sure that if there was friendly fire, [iQ] would have lost to [EvIL].

i think it could work but they would have to buff a lot of protection monk skills as well as rit healing skills. i also think it would make for some more interesting game play.

Why would you make the game worse than it already is in PvP?

That would be fun, let the monsters kill each other while you use a prot build.

The first victim of friendly fire would be Guild Wars.

No game like this can put in friendly fire and have a big fan base. People will get frustrated and leave. Only a few hardcore players will stay and they can't maintain a game.

If we hadn't of had the PvE skills like Pain Inverter I would call it overpowered in PvE (as stated above, things like Mallyx with that applied would be amusing) but now not really. However I think this skill would be quite interesting in PvP and not too overpowered (as an elite and a different cooldown/duration than listed). The concept is qutie interesting with regards to GW.

Heck in PvE it would make the mesmer quite wanted in most areas if implemented as a PvE only skill and a short enough recharge to be used frequently. Much more so than the other "fixes" to the mesmer and still no more powerful than other PvE only skills.

lol! Okay this thread is becoming quite humorous. The Edge of Extinction and the ashes ashes we all fall down had me cracking up. And so did the Ohnoes the ghostly!!!

But in all seriousness, I agree with several people that this game would become horribly unbalanced if they implemented friendly fire, and many people would stop playing it alltogether. It's basically encouraging people to be stupid and shoot their allies. Not to mention the RA team situation.

Warriors would be no longer tanks, since they'll die in 3 seconds when the eles nuke around.

It's a good thing there are a few people who aren't bad at the game.

On topic: It would be funny. Get a PuG and kill your own people for the lolz.

Just imagine... a D/A spike, 3 Dervs shadowstep to a target and kill him... and each other

(I'm not even getting into the fun of a Shockwave spike, rofl)

And now imagine a typical AB match, when right on the start there's someone with a retarded build full of PBAoE nukes and kills all his allies!

Oh, and who has a link to a Gaile talk about alpha times when she was the infamous arrow-in-the-back teammate ;d

/ not signed Sounds like quite a bad idea to me. If you want to play other players is that not what PvP is all about. If any thing why not have a PvP area where you could chalange one player to single combat. Or make an area of HoH where you could chalange a team to combat. You would be able to pick a certain team or player to play.

Friendly fire didn't work very well in AoC. Your group members get pissed if you kill them. Was amusing for a few minutes, then it just got annoying.

Everyone has thought about what would happen if [Spiteful Spirit] or [Meteor Shower] were used, but what if skills from [Ursan Blessing] were used? Everyone would spike each other for a couple hundred damage and be knocked down while getting massacred by enemies.

Friendly fire should exsist, unfortunatly It would mean reworking the entire game.

example of FF:
Ranger class, IF the ranger attacks miss and there is a war in front then there should be a % chance that the war gets the FF. There would also need to be skills that did not have FF built into them, like a persision shot. There would also need to be skills that increased the % of FF like barrage and volly. As stated before it would only consider FF if there was a miss and then add in a % for it. Now look at ignight arrows, that looks like a FF situation % increase as the arrows EXPLODE.

Like others have stated meteor shower and fire storm look and feel like unconditional damage to everything, however fireball would prob have a % on it as well as meteor (like splash damage). but take a spell like chain lighting that if it hits a party member it could reset its target count......ZoT!

Hexes like spitful Spirit would need to only effect like races. dwarves = no FF where as corsiar = human = FF.

Wars should also have a FF % roll on a miss if there are other melee players/pets in range. We have all seen the movies where someone swings a sword misses and stabs there own people.

I do not believe that you should be able to directly target freindly party members with a hostile attack as that is a direct attack and not FF.

Perhaps adding in a mesmer enchant/hex that would redirect hostile/freindly spells to the opposing team would also be more doable.

Monks already have a true aoe heal, look at heal area for example.

FF should be a rare occurance not the "norm" and definatly not intentional. It would add a nice flavor to the game if done correctly, unfortunatly this will never happen in GW1.

Yep the teenies would go wild over it............the people that rage when they are getting PWN would purposely try hit teammates, bad Idea for PvP nice for PvE.
