Regarding weapon appearances... Regina's comment about being harder to identify what weapon its wielding makes me think that it might just be shown using its claws, and the weapon installed affects the attack through a similar magic to how the weapon wielded by the character affects the attacks of siege devourers and junundu.
A little more finely controlled, as it would actually use the stats of the weapon rather than just using the type of weapon to set the type of attack to use, but the same "weapon is not actually shown" principle.

For all those immediately QQ'ing about the fact that this only comes with the new set... Guess what?, there are already more heros than you can use if you've unlocked them all! 3 monks, 2 rits, etc... and multiple heros of EVERY class!
Personally I don't care. I say GO FOR IT ANET! Because all "veteran" players seem to complain the loudest. The only reason this would matter even the LEAST is if they allowed full hero parties at a later date. And even then... There are enough heros already of each type to have a balanced hero team.
Good move on anet's part, especially if it forces "veteran" players to buy another account just because its something they don't have. Even if its insignificant.

1) More slots to have prebuilt heroes. I actually wouldn't mind a fourth elementalist slot just so I can have one each built for each element, rather than having to fiddle with their builds and equipment whenever I want the element I don't have one already kitted out for.
I had a second point, but Regina's post has made it obsolete, so I'll just leave it at pointing out that there
are benefits to having more heroes than you can use.
