Guild Battles

*Guild Lords no longer walk out at 20 minutes.
*The Victory or Death message will no longer display at 18 minutes.
*Gates barring entry to guild halls will now open when the match starts. Gate locks have been removed from these gates.
*Guild Thieves have been removed.
*Bodyguard: the Bodyguard will now shoot fireballs from his staff instead of arrows.

*Glimmering Mark: this skill no longer ignores armor.

boo, at least they are trying, Martin do we really have to wait 2 weeks, for the next VOD change?... This change is really just going to force the next extreme, split builds working off all NPCs pre VOD, then just keeping the poor suckers team who has no npcs left in their base with the Lord, one snare to keep you from running a flag and it's gg. Ohwell at least 8v8 isn't forced upon anymore.

What's the point of removing important tactical elements like locked gates and guild thieves? A gate is no longer a gate, a base is no longer a base.

One extreme to the other, hitting the nail hard usually ends up in a bent nail, hitting it ever so semi-hard yet consistent yields straightness.

I had no idea that site was different. I always visit guildwars.com and also players.guildwars.com isn't working. The EU one has a nicer layout for game updates page.
Anyway on topic of the update its nice that there changing parts of the game quite a bit even though i don't GVG.
also flux capaciters don't get fixed by spanners

Glimmering Mark no longer ignores armor. At 16 Air the skill did 26 damage per second, ignoring armor. While I did not see much use of it while it ignored armor (because who is going to cast it and wait patiently while it has its full effects), it seems even more worthless now.

And Glimmering Mark is back to craptastic. Not worth using if it's ~16 dmg to monks and 10 to warriors... Conjure Phantasm would be better lol.

Meh. They're just trying to make it so GvG isn't completely NPC based. How about getting some EotN guild halls in the next update. With more cape stuff...tired of the boring ones we have now.

- Nothing's going to surprise me anymore. They're made so many revamps and reverts. Will this change make GvG better or not? Will it make GvG worse? If this was statistics, we should have 95% confidence that the change will be for the better. Some guilds like 8v8 matches, some guilds like splitting. So what? If you're handling a game played by thousands of players, you're not supposed to act like weather vane changing from one extreme to another on a whim.

Why the hell was glimmering mark nerfed? I really cannot see how an elite that does 24 dps @ 14 air needed a nerf.

It was super powered shit in AB or something like that. I'm guessing, because there's no better explanation.

I like the update tbh. Splitting means something now and you can't run full 8v8 HA builds and expect to win(except on burning obviously). They removed gates and thiefs to help that as on thief maps you could obviously just kill thief and force your playstyle on the split.

Too bad on maps like druid you still have to repair the seed.

I'm a little surprised there is nothing here for unyielding aura. If you don't mind dying once your hero can pretty much drag you around almost any PvE area in complete security. That seems like a little bit of an exploit to me.
