No. Anything like that would be bad. Pre-selected messages, pre-selected allowable words, word suggestions, auto-checker, etc.
I do understand where you're coming from on being annoyed by people that don't type English, but at the same time, systems like those can also hurt people that type English.

Dark Age of Camelot had a custom filter that allowed you to change colloquialisms to fit your literary needs and upkeep your mental well-being. It was an amazing system at the time--lol became 'very funny', brb turned into 'one moment' and rofl morphed into 'well spoken!' Ah, for the days of role-playing on Percival...
But, as others have suggested, you could turn off local and nearly achieve the same effect.

Spell Check? Is it that hard to spell? If you make a mistake, cant you just hit the rectangular button titled "Backspace"?
If someone else is spelling words wrong, WHO CARES. Does it make that much of a difference how he spelled it? Does it really affect you? If a word is mispelled, who cares, you still know and understand what a person is trying to say.

No one that needs to use it is going to use it. If it's automatic, even more dumb. I don't want it asking me to change it every time I type "lod" or "ursan."

In chats, speed is more important than correction.
There is no excuse to make mistakes in webrowsers, but if people had to correct everything they write it would be slow, and if the server modified what people say before sending it to other it would create many mistakes due to bad checks.
Spell check requires human interaction.

Maybe if you elaborated more on your initial post, I'd agree with you. Someone who types two fragmented sentences as a post can't really complain about the laziness or ignorance of people.

NO thank you, spelling isn't that big of a deal especially in a game.
however being able to add stuff to the chat filter would be nice i would love to change the F-word into Love so people would say love you or your so lovingly stupid it could be quite LOL to be able to change wut ever word you wanted.

its not so much the spelling... its the "their, there, theyre," "would of," and "awefull." that ones pisses me off. full of awe? i dont think so.
the way i interpret a spell checker is the little red line under misspelled words, which i guess could possibly help a tad... im not sure. as long as it isnt a grammar nazi, sure. i would not enjoy putting ' on all my contractions.

I'd rather have people talking normally than making stupid miss-spellings such as "Tomb" instead of "Tome", but this will divert the idea of typing quickly which is often used and is extremely helpful, and understandable at the same time for quick conversations. That is why I won't sign, however.
It's understandable how people really butcher the language, but acronyms (That's what they're called, right?) are extremely useful in chats like this.
